A yellow warning for thunderstorms has been issued by the Met Office as a result of the incoming rain.
The warning, which is set to expire at 7pm, tells the public to take caution with driving conditions.
Meaning the 200mph+ speeds on the Silverstone track could be even more risky under the wet weather.
Fans and staff at the Silverstone track are already soaked since the heavens have opened this morning with rain continuing to pour.

However, there's hope that things could clear up in time for the big race this afternoon with the forecast looking more dry by 3pm.

As of Monday afternoon, five million were still under flood warnings in Texas with fears 10 inches of rain could fall in some parts of the state. Slow-moving showers are creeping across the region with warnings expected to stay active into Monday evening. "We will never presume they're dead," Jake Stovall, the founder of Gulf Search and Rescue, told CNN and vowed to keep working the scene for up to 15 days. Legislators across the US are directing rescue crews to help search for more survivors. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis confirmed he's sending water rescue crews and was "happy to step up." "On advisement from his doctor, due to illness, it is with sincere regret that Sting must cancel his appearance at the Bass Magazine Awards this Thursday," a statement read at the start of the year. It went on to reveal that he would also "postpone his STING 3.0 concerts in Phoenix, AZ (originally scheduled for January 24) to June 1 and Wheatland, CA (originally scheduled for January 26) to May 28 as well as his performance at the Cherrytree Music Company's 20th anniversary, now taking place May 29". The statement went on to say: "Fans should retain their tickets for the postponed shows, as they will be honoured on the new dates.
