Buccaneer' Yaya Diaby: Tampa Bay's Most Underrated Defensive Player
Diaby didn't lead the team in sacks, finishing with 4.5 and down from 7.5 in his rookie year, but his impact was evident in game-changing pressure numbers. According to Pro Football Focus, he posted an 18.1% pass‑rush win rate, which is good for the top 10 among NFL edge rushers, and generated 70 total pressures over 18 games.
These metrics tell the real story: Diaby was consistently disrupting backfields, collapsing protection schemes, and converting pressure into production. PFF even named him the Buccaneers' most underrated player, noting that while his sack totals didn't explode, his pressure metrics clearly pointed to a breakout year. Diaby's contributions weren't limited to the pass rush. He recorded 13 tackles for loss and 20 quarterback hits, tying for 18th in the NFL in both categories.
Not only was he impacting passing downs, but he was also a consistent disruptor in run defense, too, setting the edge and making plays behind the line.
In the Buccaneers' defensive scheme, which historically relied heavily on blitzing, Diaby's progression allows greater flexibility. Tampa Bay can now generate pressure from its front four more often, easing the reliance on blitz-heavy looks and giving secondary players more recovery time. Despite his consistent effectiveness, Diaby's value hasn't been reflected in highlight reels or mainstream media as a rising star. Yet his presence is vital to a defense that ranked in the NFL's top 10 for total pressures and sacks in 2024.
As the Bucs aim to transition the defense toward a more balanced style and generate pressure without overblitzing, Diaby stands to play an even bigger role. With improved sack totals and continued disruption, he's poised to break through into more national recognition. In a defense packed with star power, Yaya Diaby is the unsung hero. His relentless pressure, behind-the-scenes consistency, and proven growth make him the most underrated defensive player on Tampa's roster in 2025.

Christian Wilkins's injury has coaches and execs snub the Raiders DT from list of NFL best
This time a year ago, Christian Wilkins had just signed a mega deal with the raiders and NFL executives and coaches roundly considered him one of the best interior defensive linemen in all of football. Their opinions of him landed him in the six spot on ESPN's ranking of the league's top ten best DT's. Wilkins put up nine sacks and 23 QB hits in 2023, and hit the market as the league's top free agent. The Raiders had a big need at the position and they landed him on a four-yeard $110 million deal to team up with Pro Bowl edge rusher Maxx Crosby. Just five games into last season, Wilkins was lost to a jones fracture in his left foot and never returned. And his absence from the NFL most of last season has caused his absence from the minds of NFL execs and coaches. This year's list of the NFL's top ten DTs didn't have him on it. Wilkins topped the list of Honorable Mentions, with one NFL coordinator saying of Wilkins "I know he's hurt, but I love this guy. Absolutely a top interior player when healthy." The injury has lingered for Wilkins, who has missed the entire offseason so far. The team is hoping he will be back to full health come training camp and return to his. 2023 form this season. At which point perhaps Wilkins can remind these unnamed execs and coaches of what he is capable.

2025 Fantasy Football Rankings — Justin Boone's Top Wide Receivers
Yahoo Sports' Justin Boone won the FantasyPros Most Accurate Expert Award in 2019 and has eight top-10 finishes in the competition. Follow the links below to see his latest redraft rankings at every position. Advertisement Rashee Rice, Chiefs - Rice was back to full participation in OTAs after missing most of last year with a knee injury. That's great news for the Chiefs' best receiver and fantasy managers should take notice. With Travis Kelce on the decline, Rice is the most likely to take over as Patrick Mahomes' top target. He has top-12 fantasy WR potential and that's exactly where I have him ranked. Terry McLaurin, Commanders - McLaurin has missed the team's offseason program due to displeasure with his contract. It's possible they could come to an agreement before training camp gets underway, but time is running out. I've moved McLaurin down slightly based on past history of players missing offseason activities and having it impact their on-field performance when they do return. George Pickens, Cowboys - The trade to Dallas comes with pros and cons for Pickens' fantasy outlook. Dak Prescott is a much better quarterback than who Pickens was catching passes from in Pittsburgh lately, but the 24-year-old wideout will have to get used to being the No. 2 option behind CeeDee Lamb. The Cowboys' receivers also have the toughest fantasy strength of schedule this season. Factoring in everything, Pickens is a boom-or-bust WR3/flex for 2025.
