R Ashwin Lauds 'Miyaan Bhai' After Match-Winning Spell: 'Real Instrument For...'

Last Updated: Ashwin praises Siraj for his transformation and crucial role in India's thrilling win against England. Ace India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has said that one should celebrate Mohammed Siraj on the day and his transformation from believing in ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah to believing in himself and taking India to a series-levelling, thrilling win against England is commendable. Siraj took a match haul of 9/190 to help India bowl the hosts out twice in the game and clinch a thrilling six-run win over England on Monday. Set a record target of 374, England looked poised for a win against India at 339/6 at stumps on the penultimate day. However, India produced a spirited comeback on the final morning, picking up the remaining four wickets to bowl the hosts out for 367 and level the five-match series 2-2. 'What an absolute riveting Test. Full props to India, against all odds, India have come back and levelled the series. I want to say that this game has been topsy-turvy, series has also been topsy-turvy. All things aside, for today, let us celebrate Mohammed Siraj," Ashwin said while speaking on his YouTube channel. 'With 22 (23) wickets, he's the leader of the bowling charts. What made me so happy with what happened with Siraj is that when we won the T20 World Cup, he wore a bib and praised Jasprit Bumrah," Ashwin said. 'But today it wasn't Jassi bhai, but Miyan bhai, who was the real instrument for India to level the series," Ashwin added. The former Indian cricketer further emphasised the importance of Siraj to the Indian bowling attack. Ashwin said that the pacer was getting older and needed to be given breaks in between to lead a transitioning attack in the coming years. 'He's reminding us of what a champion bowler he is, his bowling action and his running technique in his run-up and his nice finish towards the end, his good work ethic is allowing him to play all the Tests of a series, even if it is five Tests. It is time we recognised that," Ashwin said. 'He's getting on in age and it is very important as an Indian team management that we rest him as well from inconsequential matches that we play after this, because he could be your number one Test bowler, go-to Test bowler around which you build the rest of your bowling attack," Ashwin added. view comments Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. We'll never surrender: Gambhir after India's dramatic win at The Oval

London, Aug 4 (PTI) Head coach Gautam Gambhir hailed India's fighting spirit after their remarkable six-run win over England in the fifth Test, asserting that his side will 'never surrender" regardless of the challenges. Set a record target of 374, England looked poised for victory at 339 for six at stumps on the penultimate day. However, India produced a spirited comeback on the final morning, picking up the remaining four wickets quickly to bowl the hosts out for 367 and level the five-match series 2-2. 'We'll win some, we'll lose some… but we'll NEVER surrender! Well done boys!" Gambhir posted on social media platform 'X' after the win. The result marked a significant turnaround for India, who came into the England series after a string of poor performances in the traditional format under Gambhir's charge. While Gambhir enjoyed early success in white-ball formats, his Test tenure began on a sour note with a 0-3 whitewash at home against New Zealand. It was followed by a 1-3 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. England presented Gambhir's most testing assignment, with a young Shubman Gill taking over the captaincy following the retirements of veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. India began the series with a five-wicket loss at Headingley but bounced back with a dominant 336-run win at Edgbaston. The visitors pushed England to the edge at Lord's before narrowly going down by 22 runs. In Manchester, India battled hard to force a draw, setting the stage for a high-stakes decider at The Oval. In a dramatic final Test, the visitors showed grit and composure to snatch a memorable win — sealing a 2-2 series draw and restoring pride at the end of a roller-coaster campaign. Influencer says his Lamborghini Aventador that caught fire not scrapped

Last Updated: Bengaluru, Aug 4 (PTI) The owner of luxury car– Lamborghini Aventador that caught fire on a busy street here a couple of days ago, videos of which went viral on social media, has junked the claim that the vehciles has been scrapped. In an Instagram reel, influencer Sanjeev S, who is famously known as Nimma Mane Maga Sanju, showed that nothing happened to his vehicle despite the fire. 'The vehicle is very much here, as you can see it. Nothing happened to it. Only a little damage," pointed out Sanjeev in a reel posted on August 3. According to him, he took his family out on Saturday and while returning, the car caught fire at Kundalahalli. 'I had a fire extinguisher, which I always keep with me. I parked the vehicle to the side, so that people won't be inconvenienced. I then tried to douse the fire," he said. Meanwhile, many people were making videos of this, he said. 'They had uploaded it on YouTube and other social media platforms," he added. Sanjeev said in his Insta reel that people started trolling him about how he often goes to temples — and makes reels of them — and yet that could not save his car. 'But what do they know? It was God who sent me autorickshaw driver and a cab driver to help me put out the fire," said Sanjeev. A wire had caught fire due to petrol leakage; it has got nothing to do with the engineering of the car, said Sanjeev. 'Try to help people when they are facing a crisis instead of making videos," said the social media influencer. The viral videos, which show flames erupting from the rear of the expensive 4-wheeler where its engine is located, had people, including Managing Director of Raymond Group, Gautam Singhania, demanding the luxury car maker to take responsibility. Singhania posted on X: 'Another day, another Lamborghini in flames. This time in Bengaluru. This isn't a 'rare incident" anymore. It's a pattern." 'Why is Lamborghini silent??? Why are their cars catching fire??? Are their cars safe??? Should they be allowed in India???" The viral clips also show passersby rushing to pour water in an attempt to stop the fire.
