Coleen Nolan's heartbreaking admission about Linda's death - 'I lost my mojo'
Loose Women star Coleen Nolan says losing her big sister Linda Nolan in January caused her to spiral downwards - and explains how therapy has saved her Coleen Nolan lost a second sister in the New Year when her big sister Linda died, 20 years after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Her death was attributed to pneumonia, and "happened so quickly", Coleen said, that it sent her on a downward spiral and she "lost her mojo for everything". Coleen, 60, took time off from her regular job on the Loose Women panel, and left much of the running of the house and her small farm to daughter Ciara, who lives with her fiancé Maxx in a separate annexe on Coleen's property. 'Linda had cancer for 20 years and was so positive," Coleen told OK! during an exclusive interview. She continued, "I got to a point where I thought she'd outlive us all. Then when it happened, it happened so quickly. Afterwards, I didn't want to get out of bed. It was overwhelming. "My kids literally didn't leave my side and when I needed to be alone, they would be in the next room. Ciara took control of everything and everyone that came round. I'd be asked to do something and say 'yes', and she'd jump in and tell them no, I wasn't ready.' Linda died on January 15 at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, following Bernie Nolan's death in 2013, aged just 52. A statement released by Linda's agent Dermot McNamara after her death said: "She passed peacefully, with her loving siblings by her bedside, ensuring she was embraced with love and comfort during her final moments. Linda's legacy extends beyond her incredible achievements in music and entertainment. She was a beacon of hope and resilience, sharing her journey to raise awareness and inspire others. Rest in peace, Linda. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten." Dermot also acknowledged her achievements as a singer, West End star, TV personality, charity campaigner, author and a founding member of The Nolans - who sold more than 30million records, performed for President Gerald Ford and toured with Fran Sinatra. Linda's death came just a few months before Coleen's milestone 60th birthday, and the straight-talking TV personality said it changed her perspective on the occasion. She started questioning her own mortality, she said, and didn't want to go to work or socialise. It was only when Coleen, who has just launched her own YouTube channel about life on her farm, sought help from a therapist that things started to improve. 'I really needed it this year because I didn't know how to push forward and had an incredible sadness, and when it wasn't sadness it was numbness. Therapy has absolutely saved me, my therapist can't give me a pill or an operation to fix me, it ultimately has to come from me, but it gives me the belief and the courage that I'm strong enough to do it.'max

Strictly's Fleur East shares six-word verdict on BBC show's future after 'intense' comment Strictly Come Dancing star Fleur East, who made it to the final of the BBC show in 2022, has shared her thoughts on the future of the programme after an "intense" experience Fleur East has shared a six-word update on the future of Strictly Come Dancing (Image: Cameron Smith, Getty Images ) Fleur East has delivered a six-word assessment of Strictly's prospects after discussing the "intense bubble" she endured during her time on the reality show. The 37-year-old currently presents the Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show It Takes Two alongside professional dancer Janette Manrara, securing the position following her journey to the final as a competitor in 2022. Fleur, who first came to prominence on the X-Factor before stepping onto the dance floor, is recognised for her role on The Hits Radio Breakfast Show and has recently landed a part as Tina Turner in a West End production. Speaking about her experience on the hit BBC show, Fleur expressed satisfaction at being able to remain involved with the programme following her participation, observing that numerous former contestants described experiencing 'FOMO' (fear of missing out) after their departure. Fleur revealed to i Weekend: "It's an intense bubble that you're in when you do the show. I'm really pleased that I got the chance to work on it straight after I was on it because a majority of celebs say you get a real sense of FOMO the following year." Fleur rose to fame as a singer on the X-Factor (Image: Getty Images for The National Lo ) She was then quizzed on whether the popular BBC show had "clawed back its appeal". It comes after the programme was embroiled in a bullying scandal after actress made a string of complaints against dancer partner Giovanni Pernice. Article continues below The Italian professional dancer faced allegations of being "abusive" from Amanda, subsequently leading to a BBC investigation. An inquiry upheld six out of 17 complaints but cleared him of physical abuse allegations. Yet, in her response to the question, the magazine says Fleur "diplomatically dodges" whether the show has "clawed back its appeal" before speaking about the "joyous" nature of the much-loved dance contest. She added: "I think it's just like no other show. It's a really joyous show. It brings people together, it's fun, and I don't think it's going anywhere." In an interview with the Express this month, she offered a glimpse into her future career aspirations, revealing that she now has a "bit of the acting bug" and would like to take on a film role. Fleur confessed that she used to be "scared of rejection". She said: "One regret I would say I have is that I was so nervous and so worried about what people would think of me. I was so scared of rejection for many years that I didn't step out and do the things that I wanted to do. "I wasn't brave enough for many years. And then the moment that I found the courage, I stepped into what I feel like I was always meant to do, and I loved every second of it." Butlins nominated for top UK travel awards
Butlins could be bringing home two prestigious industry awards this year, but holidaymakers can still save up to 40% on breaks A much-loved family holiday destination is celebrating national recognition after being shortlisted for two major accolades in the 2025 British Travel Awards. Butlin's Bognor Regis has been named a finalist for both 'Best Company for UK Parks and Lodges Holidays' and 'Favourite Company for Radio Advertisements.' These prestigious consumer-voted awards honour excellence across the UK travel and leisure industry, covering everything from holiday parks to cruise lines. Winners are decided entirely by public vote, offering a true reflection of what UK holidaymakers value most when they take a break. Butlin's is encouraging holidaymakers to cast their vote before voting closes November, 1. Anyone taking part will be automatically entered into a prize draw to win rewards such as a £5,000 Greek holiday, a river cruise worth over £4,000, holiday vouchers up to £1,000, or a £5,000 European villa break. Votes can be made online via the British Travel Awards website. The Bognor Regis resort has recently unveiled new attractions following an ambitious makeover. Among the highlights is the company's largest-ever indoor Soft Play centre, covering over 3,000 square feet across four floors and accommodating up to 200 children at a time - double the previous capacity. The addition of a brand-new Puppet Theatre with themed play zones, a sensory area for babies, a cosy café, and free puppet shows such as Under The Sea and Christmouse has further boosted the resort's family-friendly appeal. These features have already proven a hit, with thousands of families expected to visit during the school holidays. The £1.8 million Soft Play investment is part of wider developments across Butlin's three seaside resorts. Bognor Regis is also home to the £15 million indoor activity centre PLAYXPERIENCE, offering nine immersive gaming experiences, from laser tag and a VR arcade to escape rooms. Meanwhile, Minehead recently welcomed a second £2.5 million SKYPARK, an inclusive and interactive playground for children of all abilities. In Skegness, the £12 million Maple Walk village introduced 128 contemporary Premium Lodges at the heart of the resort. To celebrate, Butlin's has launched a major summer sale on 2025 and 2026 holidays, with discounts of up to 40%. Offers include Midweek Showtime breaks at Bognor Regis from £69 in June, Summer Holidays with Stephen Mulhern featuring three-night stays from £352, and Justin Fletcher Tots Breaks starting at £79 in September. Holiday parks are a cherished British tradition, with families returning year after year for fun-filled breaks. For families looking for a break by the seaside, Haven Holidays offers a perfect blend of fun and nostalgia, while Parkdean Resorts provides a similar experience, with 66 parks featuring pools, on-site dining, and classic seaside activities. While Center Parcs remains a favourite for its forest escapes packed with activities, prices can soar during school holidays. Brits love Butlins for the affordable fun it offers, with holidaymakers sharing their experiences on TripAdvisor. One visitor said: "We had a lovely Easter break at Butlin's Bognor. Top quality entertainment, engaging and friendly staff and we had the weather too. Such good fun for young and old alike. Very impressed with the new soft play, the Splash water park was fabulous and from start to finish we received nothing but exceptional customer service." Another family who stayed at Minehead added: "We've just returned from our most amazing family break at Butlins Minehead, marking our fifth year visiting, and we honestly can't praise it enough! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations." A holidaymaker who just returned from a visit in June, said: "Went to Skegness Butlins over the weekend and it was amazing, the kids absolutely loved it! The place was lovely and clean, staff were extremely helpful and we can't wait to come back." Nevertheless, not everyone left with rave reviews. One less impressed visitor noted: "Decided to give Butlin's a go for half term. Overall, for us adults, everything was a bit meh except for the entertainment, which was awesome." Another positive review from Bognor mentioned: "Always things to do never get bored. Very clean apartment. New playxperience building is very good, packed with new, fun experiences. Had great fun in laser tag. Brilliant and helpful staff." All of Butlin's holiday offers can be found here, with deals available at Minehead, Bognor Regis and Skegness. Depending on the date and location, guests could also secure up to 40% discount on meal packages.
