Hours after President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to slam the launch of the America Party by billionaire Elon Musk , the latter mocked the site on his own social media app, X, posting, "What's Truth Social? Never heard of it."Trump, in a post on his microblogging website, said, "I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely 'off the rails,' essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. He even wants to start a Third Political Party , despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States — The System seems not designed for them."Others on X reminded Musk that he does indeed know about Truth Social. Far-right activist Laura Loomer said in a post that "he has made several posts in the past about President Trump's Truth Social posts".When a user asked Musk's AI bot Grok if the billionaire is a liar, it replied, "No, Elon isn't a liar—he's a master troll. His "Never heard of it" is classic sarcasm, given his past mentions of Truth Social (e.g., calling it a "terrible name" in 2022). Context matters!"Musk on Saturday declared that he would start his own political party , the America Party, to fight back against Trump's 'big, beautiful' tax bill.A day earlier, Musk had asked his followers on X if the United States needed a new party. The answer, he said, was clear enough. 'Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom,' Musk wrote. 'By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it!'Trump's retaliatory post read: "The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds." The president's Treasury secretary, Scott Bessent , also said Musk should stick to running his companies and stay out of politics.

All About Truth Social: How Many Subscribers It Has, Who Are Prominent Users

When Trump Media and Technology Group and T Media Tech LLC launched Truth Social in February 2022, they claimed to offer an alternative to "big tech tyranny" and to protect users' freedom of speech. And despite US President Donald Trump using it to announce the most important policy and ceasefire decisions, the platform is struggling to retain its American user base. Truth Social's fading popularity received another blow when Trump's friend-turned-foe, Elon Musk, claimed he had never heard of the platform. His remark came hours after Trump attacked him for founding a new political party. " What's Truth Social?" Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter). In another post, he added, "Never heard of it". The Number Story Although Truth Social refuses to make user counts public, the site has about two million active users each month and 25.5 million visits. As of February 2024, research firm Similarweb reported there are roughly 5 million active users on the microblogging platform. Monthly users on two rival social media networks, Facebook and TikTok, are approximately 1 billion and 3 billion, during the same period. Truth Social's biggest issue is its inability to retain users, with about 49 per cent of people not using the app for at least 61 days. A typical user spends fewer than two days a week on the platform. According to the platform's user demographics, 43 per cent of active users are women and 57 per cent are men. The average monthly visits to the website, from May 2022 to April 2023, dropped by more than 39 per cent to little over 4 million from May 2023 to April 2024. According to three separate data organisations, Truth Social's monthly active user counts in the US dropped sharply in the last few months of 2023, as reported by CNBC. However, the platform's traffic increased in the first quarter of 2024 when Trump Media went public. Who All Are Using It Besides the US President, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined the Trump-owned microblogging platform back in 2019. PM Modi said he was "delighted" to be on the platform in his first post from March, which included a picture of him with Trump taken in Houston, Texas, during his 2019 US tour, BBC reported. Other prominent personalities on the social media platform include Donald Trump Jr, Dan Bongino, Sean Hannity, Eric Trump, Dinesh D'Souza, Devin Nunes, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, among others. Republicans make up a large portion of the user base on the politically charged social media site. Democratic voters are quite unlikely to use the platform on a regular basis, let alone give it a try, reports say.

Elon Musk's America Party: Challenging the political status quo

A tax bill created a rift between Donald Trump and Elon Musk, leading Musk to form the "America Party" on July 6. Aiming to challenge the US two-party system, Musk seeks targeted influence in Congress. Trump criticised the move, citing historical failures of third parties in American politics. Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads Who knew a tax bill would create a rift between allies Donald Trump and Elon Musk, two of the most powerful men in the world? That rift has now led to the formation of another party in the US, where politics is primarily dominated by the Democratic and Republican July 4, when the US was celebrating Independence Day, the US Senate passed President Trump's ambitious 'big, beautiful bill,' with Vice President JD Vance having to break a 50–50 the very day the bill was passed, Musk, on his social media platform X, posted a poll asking users if the 'America Party' should be Tesla boss posted, 'Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system!'Around 65% of users clicked 'yes.' That sealed the so, Musk fulfilled the promise he made on July 1. He had vowed to form the America Party if the tax bill passed, arguing that the country needs an alternative to the 'Democrat-Republican uniparty.'No other details about the party followed. Just a plan on how to fight the fight.'One way to execute on this would be to laser-focus on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts,' he said.'Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people,' he July 6, he announced: 'Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.'He referred to the legacy of Epaminondas, the Greek general credited with ending the 'myth of Spartan invincibility' at the Battle of Leuctra. That's how he planned to win the battle.'Extremely concentrated force at a precise location on the battlefield,' he that same day, a Federal Election Commission (FEC) document began making the rounds on social media, revealing that Musk had registered the America Party with the who had largely remained silent on the whole 'new political party' matter, said on Monday on his microblogging platform that he is 'saddened' to watch Musk go completely 'off the rails' in recent weeks.'He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States — The System seems not designed for them," Trump concern or not, his statement does contain some truth. Historically, third-party movements in the US have struggled to gain real traction, according to the Times of India. One of the most notable cases was Texas billionaire industrialist Ross Perot's 1992 presidential bid; he secured almost 19% of the popular vote but failed to win a single Electoral College hasn't promised or even suggested that he wants his 'America Party' to become a major party, at least not as of now. Just change. And enough power to 'give you back your freedom'.

RIDICULOUS, it will only create ..., says Donald Trump on Elon Musk's America Party

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has officially launched a new political party called the America Party. However, US President Donald Trump has completely dismissed Elon Musk's newly launched political unit. Calling the America Party 'ridiculous', Trump said that creation of a new party will only create confusion, chaos and disruption in the American political system. US President Donald Trump calls Elon Musk's America Party a RIDICULOUS idea Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One, Trump said, 'It's always been a two-party system. Starting a third party just adds to confusion. Third parties have never worked. He can have fun with it, but I think it's ridiculous.' He emphasised the Republican Party's recent legislative victories and called it a 'smooth-running machine,' contrasting it with what he described as Musk's 'train wreck' of a political venture. Donald Trump also posted on Truth Social about Elon Musk's America Party Trump also shared a post on Truth Social criticising Musk's America Party. 'I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely 'off the rails,' essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks,' wrote Trump. He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States - The System seems not designed for them. The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds! Republicans, on the other hand, are a smooth running 'machine,' that just passed the biggest Bill of its kind in the History of our Country. It is a Great Bill but, unfortunately for Elon, it eliminates the ridiculous Electric Vehicle (EV) Mandate, which would have forced everyone to buy an Electric Car in a short period of time. I have been strongly opposed to that from the very beginning. People are now allowed to buy whatever they want - Gasoline Powered, Hybrids (which are doing very well), or New Technologies as they come about - No more EV Mandate. I have campaigned on this for two years and, quite honestly, when Elon gave me his total and unquestioned Endorsement, I asked him whether or not he knew that I was going to terminate the EV Mandate - It was in every speech I made, and in every conversation I had. He said he had no problems with that - I was very surprised! Additionally, Elon asked that one of his close friends run NASA and, while I thought his friend was very good, I was surprised to learn that he was a blue blooded Democrat, who had never contributed to a Republican before. Elon probably was, also. I also thought it inappropriate that a very close friend of Elon, who was in the Space Business, run NASA, when NASA is such a big part of Elon's corporate life.
