Fans are now concerned that Isabella Brown, the young actress who plays Lexi, has left the show.
Lexi is the daughter of Ben Mitchell and the late Lola Pearce and is approaching her 13th birthday in EastEnders.
Die-hard soap fans are now wondering if Lexi will return "with a different head", as many of the child stars have over the years.
Writing on Reddit, one EastEnders viewer said: "Anyone know what's happening with Lexi? She hasn't been seen since the 40th anniversary and was rather absent prior to that too.
"Lexi is 13 next month. The same age as Lily was when she gave birth."
They added: "With only 9 appearances this year I wouldn't be shocked to see her return with a new head."
Replying, another fan agreed: "Looks wise the actress reminds me a lot of the old Amy Mitchell so I wonder if they'll recast her soon to someone more older/ older looking."
A third chimed in: "I think as Lexi is nearly 13 she should be part of the friendship group with Tommy, Ricky, Denzel, Nugget, Avani , Amy, Lilly and Will.
"Also they seem to have forgotten Amy, Ricky and Barney are her cousins so it's weird they hardly hang out and a while back they were developing a friendship between her and Amy too."
And a fourth added: "I hope she doesn't get recast. She's a great actress and it's nice to see a realistic looking teenager.
BBC EastEnders fans break down in tears at Lexi Mitchell's gesture to dying mum Lola Pearce
"Most of the teens are played by adults and even the likes of Lily who is only 16 irl I feel always looked a bit older (which obviously isn't her fault, some teens do look older which is realistic but not literally all of them.)."
This is not the first time fans have been left scratching their heads over Lexi's lack of on-screen appearances.
In December last year, EastEnders viewers raised identical concerns following another long absence.
It came after a huge storyline, which saw Lexi's mum Lola - played by Danielle Harold - tragically die from an untreatable brain tumour.
Lexi's dad Ben - Max Bowden - then ended up in prison for fraud.
Lexi did, however, return to the BBC One soap and featured in February's huge EastEnders 40th Anniversary Week.
Isabella Brown's agent had previously confirmed that she would continue to play Lexi "throughout 2025".
A post on EJC Management's Instagram in December said: "So very proud of this young lady!
"Our incredible ISABELLA BROWN will continue to play the brilliant Lexi Pearce throughout 2025 in @bbceastenders ⭐️
"Isabella joined the square 6 years ago and seeing her grow as an actress is such a joy! Her dedication, drive, professionalism and work ethic is so inspiring from someone so young.
"She has had some amazing storylines and we can't wait to see what 2025 has in store for Lexi!"

New EastEnders star is a nepo baby as famous family members who have also starred in BBC soap are revealed
Max Murray has landed a role in EastEnders alongside legendary stars but it has now been revealed he comes from a long-line of actors and singers in his family. The youngster has been portraying character Joel Marshall since February this year but it turns out he is actually following in his famous mum's footsteps. Max is the son of actress Gina Murray, who has starred in a number of well known programmes including The Bill, Doctors and The Hunt for Raoul Moat and appeared in the BBC soap back in 2014 playing Helen. Gina's character Helen arrived in Albert Square as a hair specialist to help Carol Jackson, who was struggling with losing her hair as she fought off cancer. It was Helen's role to help Carol find a wig. Max is also the nephew of Mazz Murray, who is a successful TV and theatre actress, starring in Sunset Boulevard, Mamma Mia and Chicago to name but a few. In 2004, Mazz also starred on EastEnders as a waitress called Miranda who had a brawl with Heather Trott and Shirley Carter. The youngster has been portraying character Joel Marshall since February this year but turns out he is actually following in his famous mum's footsteps In 2017, Mazz returned to Walford but this time was playing a character called Julie, who was a divorced woman who hired Keanu Taylor as a male escort for a night of fun and frolics. Max's character Joel is the step-son of Vicky Fowler, who returned to the square for the funeral of her uncle Martin Fowler. Her new boyfriend Ross is played by Alex Walkinshaw. At the time when Max's role was announced, he told the Mirror: 'It's an absolute privilege and honour to be joining such a wonderful production full of a lovely cast and crew. 'I'm really looking forward to introducing Joel to EastEnders viewers and telling his story.' It comes as EastEnders favourite Nicholas Bailey will make a shock return as Dr. Anthony Trueman to the soap, more than a decade since he was last seen in Walford. The character – son of Patrick Trueman (played by Rudolph Walker) – will be back on screens in scenes to air in the summer. Anthony first arrived on the Square in 2000 and quickly made waves, thanks in part to a steamy romance with Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace). Now, 11 years on from his last stint, the GP is set for a dramatic reunion with his dad this summer as Patrick and Yolande prepare to tie the knot. Anthony last appeared in EastEnders in 2014 when he rushed to his father's side when Patrick suffered a stroke. Since then, he has led a life away from Walford but in upcoming scenes viewers will see he is invited to his father's impending nuptials and decides to return for the occasion. In a post on the official Eastenders Instagram account, the long running soap teased the visit to Walford comes at a significant moment for Patrick, which means Anthony stays longer than he originally intended. In a statement, executive producer Ben Wadey said: 'It's great to welcome Nicholas back to the EastEnders family to reunite Patrick with his son. 'But Anthony's plan for a brief return to surprise his father ends up with him staying longer than he expected when he uncovers what has been going on in the Trueman household.' Nicholas who will reprise the iconic role added: 'It is an unexpected treat to return to EastEnders and I'm full of gratitude to get the opportunity to revisit the character of Anthony. 'It's wonderful to work with Rudolph Walker again - he's such a big part of my journey as an actor and I loved filming my first scenes with him after so long.

Tamzin Outhwaite addresses painful co-parenting journey after Tom Ellis cheating claims
Tamzin Outhwaite reveals the emotional toll of co-parenting after Tom Ellis' alleged infidelities, saying he's now "in and out" of their children's lives Tamzin Outhwaite has laid bare the fallout from her failed marriage to Lucifer star Tom Ellis, revealing that he's now 'in and out' of their children's lives - and that she's still discovering the extent of his betrayal, even a decade later. Speaking candidly on the Parenting Hell podcast, the EastEnders actress, 54, opened up about the painful split. She went on to detail her life now, including the difficulty of co-parenting with him, and the pride she feels in how far she and her family have come. Tamzin and Tom tied the knot in 2006, introduced by actor James McAvoy. But their nine-year marriage ended in 2014 after Ellis reportedly confessed to an affair with Lost actress Emilie de Ravin. In 2023, she stunned fans with a now-deleted tweet marking the 10-year anniversary of the day Ellis walked out. "I still meet new people on jobs who reveal more infidelities and lies that he committed," she wrote. "But thankfully my heart and soul are clear and clean and I could not be happier right now." She later added: "I was marking the 10-year anniversary with pride... a feeling of triumph and genuine gratitude." For anyone struggling, the most important relationship you will ever have is with yourself." Tamzin shares two children with Ellis - Flo, 17, and Marnie, 12. When podcast host Josh Widdicombe mentioned the split happened "about 10 years ago," she replied: "Yeah, it was literally when the kids were tiny. Marnie was not even one." And on Ellis' role in their lives now, she commented, 'He lives in LA. So he's pretty in and out of their lives, but they have a lot of support and people that have been around." Opening up further about her family life, Tamzin revealed how her eldest child, Flo, came out as transgender around age 10 or 11."I did have two daughters and now I have a son and a daughter," she said. "That's quite easy for me to say now, but it wasn't maybe six or seven years ago." She admitted the early days were difficult: "There were some dark times... It was a very distressing time." "Initially, I would say, don't be ridiculous. I didn't say it out loud, but my mind went, 'That's ludicrous.'' The family has sought therapy and support, with Tamzin admitting, "We worked together as a family and with outside help," she said. "If you push back on a kid, they'll want to do the opposite. I didn't say, 'You can't be that,' but it was tough." Now, she is incredibly happy with her inspiring children. The ex-soap star shared, "He's an incredibly funny, intelligent boy… an incredible actor, desperate to be a comedy writer." Outhwaite said."To see him thriving is just nothing but relief and joy for me." Since the split, Ellis has remarried—tying the knot with screenwriter Meaghan Oppenheimer in 2019. Tamzin was in a long-term relationship with filmmaker Tom Child, which ended recently, though she still calls him her "best mate" and says he's often around. When discussing public conversations around trans rights, Tamzin said, "It really is less than one per cent of the population… but I'm just so happy for him." "The whole LGBT community get a bit of a hard rap at the moment – it's quite tough," adding, "Every situation is different, every child is different… You're not alone."
