Fans are now concerned that Isabella Brown, the young actress who plays Lexi, has left the show.
Lexi is the daughter of Ben Mitchell and the late Lola Pearce and is approaching her 13th birthday in EastEnders.
Die-hard soap fans are now wondering if Lexi will return "with a different head", as many of the child stars have over the years.
Writing on Reddit, one EastEnders viewer said: "Anyone know what's happening with Lexi? She hasn't been seen since the 40th anniversary and was rather absent prior to that too.
"Lexi is 13 next month. The same age as Lily was when she gave birth."
They added: "With only 9 appearances this year I wouldn't be shocked to see her return with a new head."
Replying, another fan agreed: "Looks wise the actress reminds me a lot of the old Amy Mitchell so I wonder if they'll recast her soon to someone more older/ older looking."
A third chimed in: "I think as Lexi is nearly 13 she should be part of the friendship group with Tommy, Ricky, Denzel, Nugget, Avani , Amy, Lilly and Will.
"Also they seem to have forgotten Amy, Ricky and Barney are her cousins so it's weird they hardly hang out and a while back they were developing a friendship between her and Amy too."
And a fourth added: "I hope she doesn't get recast. She's a great actress and it's nice to see a realistic looking teenager.
BBC EastEnders fans break down in tears at Lexi Mitchell's gesture to dying mum Lola Pearce
"Most of the teens are played by adults and even the likes of Lily who is only 16 irl I feel always looked a bit older (which obviously isn't her fault, some teens do look older which is realistic but not literally all of them.)."
This is not the first time fans have been left scratching their heads over Lexi's lack of on-screen appearances.
In December last year, EastEnders viewers raised identical concerns following another long absence.
It came after a huge storyline, which saw Lexi's mum Lola - played by Danielle Harold - tragically die from an untreatable brain tumour.
Lexi's dad Ben - Max Bowden - then ended up in prison for fraud.
Lexi did, however, return to the BBC One soap and featured in February's huge EastEnders 40th Anniversary Week.
Isabella Brown's agent had previously confirmed that she would continue to play Lexi "throughout 2025".
A post on EJC Management's Instagram in December said: "So very proud of this young lady!
"Our incredible ISABELLA BROWN will continue to play the brilliant Lexi Pearce throughout 2025 in @bbceastenders ⭐️
"Isabella joined the square 6 years ago and seeing her grow as an actress is such a joy! Her dedication, drive, professionalism and work ethic is so inspiring from someone so young.
"She has had some amazing storylines and we can't wait to see what 2025 has in store for Lexi!"

Linda's EastEnders return story 'sealed' as she's 'joined by old face'

Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) may have only just made a temporary EastEnders departure this week, but there's guaranteed drama ahead upon her return. The former pub landlady handed over the keys to her beloved Queen Vic to Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) on Tuesday, deciding to head on a cruise with her children ahead of a fresh start. After a morning of reflection, she knew that the bad times in the boozer outweighed the good times, and it was the right decision to move on. However, before she could put her troubles to one side, she had to address a looming threat that had just arrived in Albert Square – Oscar Branning (Pierre Moullier)! He had no idea that he had another sibling living in the area, as his dad Max (Jake Wood) had fathered Linda's youngest daughter Annie in 2021. And it's not just Oscar who was unaware, as Max has been kept in the dark every since she was the born. Linda knew that she'd have to tell Oscar eventually, and squirmed when he said he would take great joy in watching his dad's face drop. Luckily, after some tough words from his sister Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa), he agreed to keep quiet. Jake's return as the notorious womaniser was officially confirmed earlier this month, with Executive Producer Ben Wadey teasing: 'Whilst his character has only been away from Albert Square for four years, Walford, and the lives of those who live in it, have changed immensely. 'Max has a lot of unfinished business, but whether he is welcomed by his family remains to be seen. 'However, with a past as checkered as Max's, it's fair to say that many Walford residents will not be pleased to see him, putting the Brannings back at the heart of the Square, and the drama, this year.' Max's whereabouts are largely unknown. It's been explicitly stated on a number of occasions that both Oscar and Laurenhave been estranged from him for quite some time. He initially departed for New Zealand, and the last we heard of Max, brother Jack (Scott Maslen) had visited him in France. He then fled to Croatia with granddaughter Abi Jr. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? Who's leaving Coronation Street? The latest gossip from Emmerdale? We're not privy to the stop offs on Linda's cruise, but it's entirely plausible that she may have a run-in with a face from her past while sailing the seas. More Trending Could Max be enjoying a holiday with Abi Jr, when she makes an unexpected friend – Annie – in the kids club? Imagine the reaction if Linda came back to Walford with Max on her arm! Of course, there's always the chance that he might come back prior to her return, and her whereabouts are kept a closely guarded secret. We do know that Jake has reprised the role briefly, before a permanent stint later in the year. View More » Whatever the outcome, it's bound to be dramatic. This is Walford after all. Freddy Brazier makes rare appearance with dad Jeff and brother Bobby after feud

Bobby and Freddy Brazier put on a united front to attend the gala night of 101 Dalmatians: The Musical for their dad Jeff's theatre debut. The brothers, and sons of the late Jade Goody, were spotted walking to the Eventim Apollo together to see Jeff, 46, star as Cruella de Vil's henchman Casper, alongside Aston Merrygold as Jasper. Freddy, 20, and Bobby, 22, appeared in high spirits arriving at the venue, with EastEnders star Bobby beaming for the cameras. It comes amid reports of a family feud between Freddy and Jeff, which has descended into a legal battle. Jeff has launched a lawsuit hoping to block his youngest son from seeing his maternal grandmother, Jackiey Budden. After pictures allegedly surfaced of Freddy 'smoking a joint' with Jackiey, a source told The Sun: 'These pictures show exactly why Jeff is so worried about his son. 'Jackiey's influence over Freddy is harmful to his overall well-being. It's very sad that a grandmother would want to encourage her grandson to do something that could potentially be so damaging.' Mail Online reported that Freddy has been living with Jackiey in her home in Bermondsley for a week amid legal proceedings. It was also claimed that Freddy and Jeff are locked in a 'secret feud', with arguments between the pair causing Freddy to 'storm out' of their home to stay with Jackiey until it blows over. In June, Freddy announced he would be entering a rehabilitation facility in a bid to have a 'healthy relationship' with his dad. Taking to his Instagram Story with a lengthy message, he admitted to starting to smoke at the age of 12. But in an interview with MailOnline days later, he declared he 'doesn't want to see' his dad, accusing him of being image-obsessed without consideration for 'his own sons'. 'It feels to me like he only cares about his own image. He doesn't think about anything that affects anyone else, not even his own sons,' he said. He also said he was 'barely speaking' to his brother Bobby, but confirmed he was still in touch with Jackiey and that they have 'proper fun' while together. Despite reports that he had 'turned his back on his dad', Bobby shut down rumours of a rift between him and Jeff earlier this year. More Trending He also weighed in on the feud between Jeff and Freddy, saying his brother needs to 'grow up.' 'Freddy's very sensitive and wants to please. And when he grows up a little bit that will serve him well,' he told The Sun. 'There are things I don't like about him and there are things about me he doesn't like. 'Freddy will be OK, I don't know if he looks up to me, but I look up to him in many ways, but he's a good boy.' Got a story? Emmerdale fans blow holes in Owen and John 'suicide' twist

Fans of ITV soap Emmerdale have pointed out some plot holes in the latest part of John Sugden's (Oliver Farnworth) storyline. Last week, John learnt that Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) were going to try and work out who killed Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). Desperate to keep their focus off him, John realised he needed to come up with a plan – and fast. That same day, John was asked to visit Owen Michaels' (Simon Haines) house as part of his work at the surgery. When he arrived, he found Owen – the guy who spiked Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) – unconscious on the sofa. John rushed to call an ambulance, but then realise another problem of his would be solved if he just…let Owen die. In the time it took for Owen's life to slip away, John had created a story that made Owen look like he killed Nate. John wrote a note on Owen's laptop that confessed to murdering Nate, as well as revealing why he did it. He then used antibacterial wipes to clean the laptop, the door handle and Owen's neck, to ensure his fingerprints would be removed from the scene. A few days later, Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) went to check on Owen and found him dead. DS Walsh then arrived, and later told Tracy and Cain that this man killed Nate. It was a twist that left Cain and Tracy stunned. While they have no reason to not believe Walsh, fans of the ITV soap have certainly been struggling, as they noticed multiple plot holes in the scenes that saw John frame Owen, and what followed after. Taking to social media platform X, the point mentioned the most is John's effort to clean his fingerprints from Owen's house. It's possible a post-mortem would've been conducted on Owen after his death, to determine what he had in his system when he died. As a result of this and forensics checking the house, surely they would've noticed someone had cleaned Owen's neck, the laptop, and other areas? And therefore considered that he perhaps did not end his life? 'Did they notice that all the fingerprints on the laptop and Owen's hands had been wiped clean? #Emmerdale', one fan wondered. Another pointed out: 'He didn't seem to have his 'I'm a Medic' over shoulder pack with him that he's usually surgically attached to, just a smaller brown more casual looking bag. Not suss at all that certain areas have been wiped down, whether effective print/DNA wise or not #Emmerdale.' Also on X, audience members noticed that Robert mentioned Owen's confession in the pub…without actually being told about it. 'How did Robert know Owen confessed to killing Nate? Tracey and Cain haven't told anyone; John and Liam just walked in. Plot hole klaxon! #Emmerdale', they highlighted. This week, a suspicious Robert learnt from Owen's brother Steve that they were together in Hull the day Nate died. Want to be the first to hear shocking EastEnders spoilers? It proved someone else murdered him, but Robert grew frustrated when Steve said he didn't want to tell the police, due to him and Owen attending an illegal job in the city last year. More Trending In upcoming episodes, the theory that John is too good to be true is fuelled for Robert when he learns of the many times he has saved a villager's life. It leaves Robert in with a chance of exposing him but if John works out what's going on, will it end up being someone else? Perhaps it could be Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), given that he currently has no idea he's talking to John through the mental health charity?
