
Dhara Dabang secure first win in KPL
Dhara Dabang claimed their first win of the ongoing Khatri Premier League Season 3 floodlight T20 cricket tournament at the historical Asghar Ali Shah Stadium in Karachi. They defeated debutant team Wada Hunters by 5 wickets, thanks to an aggressive 44 by opening batter Usama AB, a brilliant match-winning 75 by Karachi's emerging first-class all-rounder Mohammad Talha, and a responsible 28 by captain Mohammad Shahid Sagar.
At the end of the match, Wada Hunters franchise owner Mohammad Arif, the chief guest, presented the Player of the Match award to Mohammad Talha for his outstanding 75-run innings. He was accompanied by Mohammad Saleem DS, sponsor Abdul Ghaffar Bheda of Bheda Traders, and Imran Choudhry, captain of Bheda Tigers.
Earlier, Wada Hunters batting first, posted 181 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs, thanks to a blistering 67 off 31 balls by Moin Ali Kachi (which included 4 boundaries and 7 towering sixes) and a quick 23-ball 28 by Shehryar Ghani (featuring 3 sixes and 2 fours). Rehan Soneja took 1 wicket for 29 runs. Asad Akhtar also chipped in with 28 runs off just 12 balls, smashing 3 sixes and 2 fours.
For the winning side, Saqib Khan picked up 2 wickets, while Mohammad Ashfaq, Mohammad Nasir, and Mohammad Taha took one wicket each.
In reply, Dhara Dabang chased down the target of 186 in 18.4 overs, losing just five wickets. Star performer Mohammad Taha smashed 75 runs off 67 balls (1 four, 8 sixes).
Rehan Soneja bowled brilliantly, taking 2 wickets for just 8 runs, while captain Liaquat Ali and Shoaib Soneja claimed one wicket each. The match was officiated by umpires Mohammad Rehan and SM Baar, while international scorer Rashid Aslam served as the official scorer.

PHOTO: KPL Defending champions Tanger Star reached the final of the Khatri Premier League Season 3 Floodlight T-20 Cricket Tournament by defeating Buchra Warriors by 4 wickets in a thrilling match at the historic Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. Buchra Warriors, batting first, scored 214 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sohail Khan batted well and scored 66 runs off 34 balls with the help of one four and seven sixes, while Abdullah Fazal scored 66 runs off 35 balls with the help of two fours and seven sixes. Besides Saleem's 4-16 Muzamil Sonija took three wickets for 41 runs. In reply, Tanger Star reached the target for the loss of six wickets in 19.4 overs. The winners owed their win to brilliant half-centuries from Test cricketer Khurram Manzoor (54) and international Usman Khan (56). In the final, they will face Bheda Tigers at the historic Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. Former captain of the Pakistan cricket team Sarfaraz Ahmed watched the match with great interest as the special guest and later distributed the honorary shield among the officials. At the end of the match, the Chief guest General Secretary of Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association Amiruddin Ansari presented the Bin Younis and New Al-Hamid Man of the Match trophies and a cash award of Rs 5,000 to Tanger Star spinner Muhammad Saleem for his brilliant bowling.

Bheda Tigers storm into KPL final

PHOTO: KPL Bheda Tigers outclassed Dhara Dabang by 8 wickes in the first semifinal and stormed into KPL final at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. In the final, Bheda Tigers will be meeting the winners of second semifinal which will be played between Buchra Warriors and defending champion Tanger Star. In the prize distribution ceremony to be held after the final, Honorable Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori will be the chief guest and will distribute the prizes amoung the finalist teams and officials. He will be accompanied by Deputy Convener (MQM) and MNA Dr. Farooq Sattar. Earlier, Dhara Dabang batting first were restricted to 156-8 in allotted 20 overs. Saqib Khan was the top scorer with 46 off 22 balls with one four and six sixes while Mohammed Taha contributed 32 off 28 balls with three fours and one six. In reply, Bheda Tigers reached the target of 159-2 in just 12.1 overs. Experienced first-class campaigner Mohammed Afzal struck an aggressive century (123) to power Behda Tigers into the final. The right-handed Afzal plundered eight beautiful boundaries and twelve towering sixes in his century.

Saad's ton lifts Dhande Fighters to win
Dhande Fighters achieved their first victory after failing in their first three matches by defeating the strong opponent team Wada Hunters by 56 runs in an exciting match in the ongoing Khatri Premier league Floodlight T-20 cricket tournament here on Sunday at historic Asghar Ali Shah Stadium Karachi. Thanks to the brilliant and aggressive century of Mirza Saad Baig, captain of the Pakistan Under-19 team and talented wicketkeeper-batsman representing Karachi Kings in HBL PSL X. At the end of the match, chief guest Usman Rajkot and Muhammad Suleman (Guddu Pakwan) presented the Man of the Match trophy along with a cash award of Rs 2000 to Mirza Saad Baig for his match-winning all-round performance of 106 runs and taking 3-10. Dhande Fighters captain Muzamil Sonija won the toss and batted first and the winning team scored 186 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Pakistan U-19 team captain Mirza Saad Baig batted aggressively and played attractive strokes towards the edges of the ground and scored a brilliant century of 106 off 54 balls with the help of seven powerful fours and nine towering sixes. In reply, the entire Wada Hunters team returned to the pavilion after scoring 130 runs in 17.3 overs ahead of the devastating bowling of Mirza Saad Baig and Zubair Ali Kachi. Moeen Ali Kachi batted well and scored a 40 runs off 23 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes, Shahryar Ghani scored 37 runs off 26 balls with two fours and two sixes, while Shoaib Sonija scored 19 runs. Sonija Soldier will take on Bachhra Warriors at 10 pm today.
