Woman dead after motorcycle crash in central Alberta

Olds RCMP say they have been unable to locate the suspect associated with a heavy police presence in the community north of Calgary. Police say a woman has died after a crash involving a motorcycle and a minivan in central Alberta Friday. A statement from Rimbey RCMP said officers received a report of the collision at 4: 30 p.m. When they arrived on the scene, they saw a motorcycle with two riders had struck a minivan at the intersection of Highway 20 and 20a, just north of Rimbey. The rear rider of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by STARS. She later died of her injuries. After investigation, police said that the van turned across the path of the motorcycle, causing the incident. Alcohol and speed are not considered factors at this time. Rimbey is about 110 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
