Nicholas Hoult On Looking "Inbred," Viral Interview
Nicholas Hoult was just 11 years old when he first found fame as Hugh Grant's young costar in the 2002 hit movie About A Boy. Since then, his career has flourished, with Nicholas also being known for his performance as Tony Stonem in the gritty British series Skins, as well as a whole bunch of popular movies like Warm Bodies and The Menu. Nick has also joined some huge franchises, including Mad Max and X-Men. Most recently, he has garnered huge acclaim for his performance as villain Lex Luthor in the latest Superman movie. And throughout his career, the star has been no stranger to fans thirsting over him — but a recently resurfaced 2023 interview suggests that he hasn't let this attention go to his head... In fact, Nick had a straight-up bizarre response to a radio host asking him about his good looks, and how left-field his answer was has led to the actor going pretty viral on X. In an interview with Hits radio, Nick was asked: 'How does it feel, in life, being such a beautiful person?'The star was clearly taken aback by this question and blushed as he laughed and thanked the interviewer for the compliment. He then said: 'That's weird. I read something recently, I did a show called The Great, I play the emperor of Russia in that, and I saw a comment of someone on Twitter that said: 'He looks like just the right amount of inbred to be a royal.'' 'And so I don't think I'm conventionally very handsome or anything,' Nick went on. 'I don't have the perks of being handsome because I look more inbred.' Needless to say, people can't get enough of this response, with one X user sharing a video of the interview alongside the caption: 'this is how I take compliments btw.' The tweet has already been seen over a million times, and has racked up thousands of likes, replies, and reply asked: 'Nicholas Hoult is one of my very few male celebrity crushes and he thinks he looks inbred?!''Wdym Nicholas Hoult doesn't think he is handsome????????' somebody else joked: 'I've been saying he's hot since he was in skins what more does he need.'While one more reasoned: 'He doesn't look inbred he's just English.'

A Wembley Stadium spokesperson said the concert, a part of the British rock band's highly anticipated reunion tour, "went ahead as planned." "Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers," the statement continued. Hysterics at What Dad and Daughter Do During TV Show Audition
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. When Ellie-May Wood, 24, and her dad Simon, 58, applied for a spot on a TV show, they had high hopes and good intentions. But when they didn't hear back from the producers, they began to wonder what went wrong—until they rewatched their audition tape. "It was one of those scenarios where you know you're not supposed to laugh, so that just makes you laugh harder," Wood told Newsweek. "It was also quite a serious thing for us to do, which is very uncommon for us." The duo, from Somerset, England, could barely get their words out between fits of laughter as they tried to explain why they wanted to be on the Race Across the World show, which tasks contestants with racing from one destination to another without using air travel. On July 25, Wood, a primary school teacher, shared the outtakes online—and the internet loved every second of it. The video racked up over 235,900 views and 28,000 likes at the time of writing. Two screenshots from the viral video showing Wood and her dad laughing. Two screenshots from the viral video showing Wood and her dad laughing. TikTok/@teachwithmisswood The caption layered over the video reads, "To this day, we can't work out why Race Across the World choose us," as the pair repeatedly fail to introduce themselves properly through uncontrollable giggles. "We have the same sense of humor and this means we're often found laughing together," said Wood. "We have an extremely close relationship and at times he's more like a best friend! We are so similar that I am basically a carbon copy of him." Following a relationship breakdown, Wood moved back home, further strengthening their already tight-knit bond. "We have always been close, but after moving back home, our bond has gone from strength to strength," she said. "Don't get me wrong, we have our disagreements! But nothing that can't be solved with a bit of humor and honesty." Indeed, laughter may be more powerful than many realize. A study published last year found that just one 30-minute session of laughter yoga—a technique that blends simulated laughter with yogic breathing—reduced the body's stress hormone cortisol. While it didn't change how stressful a situation felt, it helped significantly blunt the physiological effects, making it a promising, low-cost tool for stress relief. Commenters online were quick to rally behind the dad-and-daughter duo. "They [probably] thought that you won't get far as you haven't stopped laughing yet," joked one viewer. Another insisted: "This is exactly why they should have chosen you." "You would be the most amusing people on it," added a third.
