Too Much has now officially landed on Netflix and we're already obsessed with Megan Stalter's character's wardrobe. Specifically, the super cute night dresses she's repeatedly spotted wearing throughout the 10-part series. If you have yet to watch – it literally came out this morning [Thursday 10 July], so no shame if you've been a little busy – the show follows Jessica (played by Stalter, Cosmo UK's latest digital cover star NBD), an American who moves to the UK following a messy breakup. Despite striving for a life of solitude, yet having a romanticised idea in mind of what living in London will be like, she ends up falling for musician Felix (played by Will Sharpe). Written by Lena Dunham and developed alongside her musician husband, Luis Felber, the romantic-comedy series is loosely based on the true story of the American writer and director's own move to the UK, where she met and married Felber. But back to the fashion. As the show's title suggests, Jessica is perceived as a lot by the Brits she encounters, and that extends to her clothing. Consisting of bright neon hues, exaggerated silhouettes and OTT prints (like her floral printed rain mac, an archival Celia B design FYI), her wardrobe also features a number of night dresses from independent British brand, If Only If. As well as the Clover and Pandora dresses, white cotton designs featuring adorable frilled necklines and cuffs, Jessica also dons the India short nightie in a recurrent gingham with the label even making a coordinating nightie for her dog. Unfortunately, the dog nighties aren't currently listed on the site to buy, but we imagine it's only a matter of time. Disused York office block is transformed into art exhibition
A disused office block in the centre of York has been transformed into a street art exhibition. Members of the public can now explore all four floors of the exhibition in Low Ousegate for free. The Vandals at Work street artists group (formerly known as Bombsquad) is behind the exhibition which displays work by more than 30 artists. 'It's the third year in the trilogy – it had to be better than last year,' said Sharon McDonagh, one of the artists taking part and a Vandals at Work Member. These included local artists and others from as far as the Netherlands. The exhibition is once again raising money for youth homeless charity Safe and Sound Homes (SASH). Sharon said it was a 'real honour' to be working with the charity. It aims to highlight that not every child has their own bedroom, Sharon said. 'It's a thing that we take for granted so that resonates better with visitors. That's very moving.' Youth homeless figures are displayed on the bedroom's walls, such as SASH providing 67,174 beds in the past five years across its North and East Yorkshire network. Aimée Harding, fundraising officer at SASH (Image: Dylan Connell) 'We want to make an impact and show people the impact of youth homelessness in this area,' said Aimée Harding, fundraising officer at SASH. 'It's [youth homelessness] very hidden but the statistics are shocking." The young people who helped create the bedroom display 'really benefited' from the project, Aimée added. 'They make friends and it boosts their self esteem.' Aimée pointed to an artwork by the young person and said: 'To see them from day one to now, their confidence has improved so much. 'They now want to work with us to help fundraise.' The Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, David Skaith, was among those in attendance at the exhibition's launch on Thursday evening (July 10). 'It's an amazing use of an empty space,' he said. 'We have so many artists in York. 'You think it's this old medieval city, but if you scratch beneath the surface there's this incredible art scene. 'We need to do a better job of promoting York as a creative place.' It's a very good way to see the work.' The Vandals at Work exhibition takes place in Low Ousegate from 11am to 6pm over the weekends of July 11 to 13, July 18 to 20, and July 25 to 27.
