Photos released of suspects that allegedly kicked man in wheelchair down Chinatown T stop stairs
MBTA Transit Police say that the four people were harassing the man before kicking him, which caused him to fall down the stairs at the Chinatown Orange Line T Stop. Investigators say it happened Saturday evening around 8:30 p.m. on June 7.
There is no information about what injuries the man might have received from the fall, nor an update on his current condition. He has not been identified.
"Honestly heartbreaking. Regardless of where I'm from or where this person is from, everyone is human. Everyone should be treated with respect and dignity," a woman visiting Boston told WBZ-TV.

Police are looking for help in identifying these two suspects.

One person can be seen with long brown hair, a beard, a green and white hat, a backpack, and a white shirt. While another can be seen with a backpack, a dark colored shirt and a beanie on.
The MBTA Transit Police wants to identify these suspects in connection with an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon investigation.

The third suspect was wearing a white Nike shirt and a cross necklace. The last person in the surveillance images is seen having long brown hair and wearing a large sweatshirt and glasses.

Columbia University said Tuesday an outage that impacted its IT systems on campus last week was the result of a hacker. The university previously said its systems "experienced an outage" on June 24 and that it was working with the NYPD to investigate it. On Tuesday, the school provided an update, saying an "unauthorized actor also unlawfully stole data from a limited portion of our network." Here's Columbia's full statement: Last week, we reported a technical outage that disrupted certain of our IT systems. We immediately began an investigation with the assistance of leading cybersecurity experts and after substantial analysis determined that the outage was caused by an unauthorized party. While the investigation is ongoing, we have restored our operations. We now have initial indications that the unauthorized actor also unlawfully stole data from a limited portion of our network. We are investigating the scope of the apparent theft and will share our findings with the University community as well as anyone whose personal information was compromised. We have not observed threat actor activity on our network since June 24 and will continue to monitor closely for further unlawful activity in our systems. It is believed whoever attacked the school's IT system was a "hacktivist," and targeted very specific student documents. The incident was not a ransomware attack. The full extent of the data the hacker got ahold of may take months to figure out.

Massachusetts police officer shot by colleague during service of restraining order
An off-duty Massachusetts police officer was shot Monday night during a confrontation with a fellow cop as she was being served with a restraining order. Kelsey Fitzsimmons, 28, an officer with the North Andover Police Department, was home when three police officers arrived to serve the order, Essex County District Attorney Paul Tucker said during a news conference Tuesday. "When one of the officers was escorting Ms. Fitzsimmons during the service of the court order, an armed confrontation took place," Tucker said. One officer opened fire and struck Fitzsimmons, he said. Fitzsimmons, who has been with the police department for just over a year, was taken to a Boston hospital and was in stable condition. She remains on administrative leave. Details about the shooting and the restraining order were not disclosed, citing the ongoing investigation. The shooting is being investigated by the Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to Tucker's office, he said.

Colorado teacher charged with sexual assault on a child in connection with alleged 2016 incident
A Colorado teacher who worked at a public charter school turned herself in to police this week over a sexual assault against a student that allegedly happened in 2016, police said on Tuesday. Michelle McMillan, 44, was a teacher at Landmark Academy at the time, when Commerce City police say she sexually assaulted a sixth grader. One of the student's parents reported the alleged assault to police in December 2024. Commerce City and Brighton police investigators launched an "exhaustive" joint investigation and issued a warrant for McMillan's arrest last week. She's been charged with sexual assault of a child under 15 by a person in a position of trust, a Class 3 felony. She was released on a $25,000 bond, court records show. She's due in court on Wednesday. No other details in the case were immediately available.
