‘People thought I was going to die' — Da L.E.S gives health update after suffering a stroke
In a candid YouTube video, the rapper reflected on his life since suffering the stroke on his birthday on July 26 and waking up a month later.
'People thought I was going to die, but I made it. I think right now it's to motivate people. I think people want to know what's wrong with me,' he said.
'I want to help people because sh*t is real. Sh*t can happen to anybody. One minute, you're cool, you're like me, and the next minute you experience the worst. I feel like my life has changed, but it isn't the end. This is bigger than me and I've got to do this.
'I'm going with the flow. When sh*t like this happens, it is nothing you can control. I'm lucky to be alive. Real talk. I feel good. I'm happy I'm still here. The purpose of me filming is to let you all into my life in a real way. Just to inspire.'

‘Everyone needs to be held accountable' — MaBlerh on hosting #RHOD S5 reunion
Mthokozisi 'MaBlerh' Cele says he will leave no stone unturned as host of The Real Housewives of Durban reunion for the third year in a row. Social media has been abuzz after the season 6 finale aired on June 13, where the women were confrontational with each other while on their trip in Mauritius, which ended with Nonku Williams crashing out after reading an anonymous letter. The dramatic season has resulted in Nonku choosing to leave the reality show and not show up for the reunion, and Minnie choosing to have her own reunion on YouTube. Ahead of the two part reunion airing on July 4 and 11, MaBlerh said viewers can expect to see him get to the bottom of unresolved storylines. 'The show has a lot of loyal viewers and I intend to step in and represent all their views. They have burning questions that need answers,' he said. 'Being back for the third time is an honour I don't take lightly. It's a big job that requires sensitivity because the ladies are opening up and sharing their lives with us, so some of the topics are deeply personal." MaBlerh said he's been following X posts and viewer questions and will make sure to bring them up on the show. 'This year I'm making sure no stone is left unturned. Everyone needs to be held accountable for what they've said and done so we can reach real resolution. Accountability is key. This is not only about drama for the sake of entertainment, it's about honesty, clarity and sometimes even healing.' 'I'm there to represent the viewers. I've seen the tweets, I've read the comments and concerns, and trust me everything will be addressed. 'People have been asking the same questions week after week. I hear them. I'm going to ask those same questions in the reunion chair.'

uShaka Sea World team bids farewell to Jabu the seal
Jabu, the oldest seal with the SA Association for Marine Biological Research (SAAMBR), died on Tuesday afternoon. The association, which includes the Oceanographic Research Institute, uShaka Sea World and uShaka Sea World Education, said Jabu was about 33 years old. The seal was four years old when he was rescued at a beach in the Eastern Cape after a huge storm hit the area in 1996. "Jabu was an icon and legend in his own right. He brought so much joy not only to the staff but to the millions of guests who met him during the daily shows. "It was easy to fall in love with Jabu, who we called our gentle giant. "He played a big role in SAAMBR's mission of connecting people with the ocean and promoting marine conservation," the SAAMBR said. Over the past few years Jabu began to slow down and started showing signs of his age. "The level of husbandry and medical care at uShaka Sea World is of such a high standard that Jabu reached an age a seal would not normally attain in the wild. He enjoyed interacting with the animal care team and having fishy snacks right until the end," the association said. Though Jabu's passing was not unexpected, it left an "enormous hole in the hearts of the SAAMBR team, many of whom have worked with him for almost 30 years". Staff member Hayley Tennant said: "Jabu was such a sweet soul, a true gentleman and a legend. His grace, strength and mischievous spirit have always been an inspiration to me. I am truly honoured to have known him and to have been part of his life for the past three decades. Rest in peace beloved Jabu." TimesLIVE

Lasizwe cuts ties with MultiChoice amid podcast payment dispute
Lasizwe's podcast, Awkward Dates, was among eight original shows announced by MultiChoice in March this year to air on its DStv platforms. Media personality and YouTuber Thulasizwe 'Lasizwe' Dambuza has reportedly parted ways with MultiChoice. This follows a dispute involving unpaid fees and an alleged breach of agreement with social media influencer Dominic Zaca. Lasizwe's podcast, Awkward Dates, was among eight original shows announced by MultiChoice in March this year to air on its DStv platforms. However, according to City Press the collaboration has allegedly collapsed due to controversy over guest compensation. Zaca took to TikTok, accusing Lasizwe and his team of airing her episode on television without her consent. Zaca claimed their agreement restricted distribution to social media platforms only. 'Lasizwe Dambuza, would you and your team like to pay me for breaching the contract we had? 'You guys breached a verbal contract, you breached a written contract, and I don't know what contract you gave to MultiChoice. I would think that MultiChoice would not air my episode, knowing full well that I did not sign that contract in full agreement.' Zaca alleged that the production team and Lasizwe had ignored attempts to resolve the matter privately. 'I've been trying to settle this privately with emails and phone calls, but you're just ignoring me. Unfortunately, my job is my face, my voice, and my body — that's how I support my family, so you are basically using me.' When guest Cyan Boujee asked Lasizwe how much he owed Zaca, he responded dismissively: 'Who's that?' He then asked Cyan how much she believed he owed Zaca, since she had also featured on Awkward Dates. Cyan replied that he owed her nothing, to which Lasizwe said, 'Thank you,' before moving on from the topic. NOW READ: Boitshepo Lamola to fly SA flag at Miss Grand International 2025 in Bangkok
