Kylie Jenner Steals Hearts as Supportive Girlfriend to Timothée Chalamet at Red Carpet Debut — Here's What She Did

Pink Villa29-05-2025
Kylie Jenner made a series of stylish appearances during the 2025 awards season as she supported boyfriend Timothée Chalamet. The couple's first official red-carpet debut came at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Rome. Jenner wore a black Schiaparelli gown from the Fall/Winter 2025 collection, featuring a plunging neckline and curve-hugging silhouette.
Chalamet received the David for Cinematic Excellence and matched Jenner's elegant look in a velvet suit with a boutonniere. The moment was a highlight for the couple, who have been linked since April 2023 and have attended several events together in recent months.
Here's why Kylie Jenner wore only black to the awards
In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar published on May 28, Kylie Jenner shared why she continued to choose black dresses. 'I think it just, like, happened that way,' she said. 'Even recently I was like, I can't wear another black dress. And then, of course, the most perfect, gorgeous Schiaparelli black dress shows up.'
The Khy founder added that black is a safe, timeless choice. 'Although these are the most beautiful, iconic gowns that I've been wearing, I think a black dress is also kind of like, not too attention-grabbing in the best way. You can never go wrong with a black dress.'
Kylie's preference for black was clear at multiple events. At the 2025 Oscars, she chose a sparkling, skin-baring Miu Miu gown with a plunging bra top and floor-length skirt. Although the look was a shift from her usual black choices, she returned to her signature color for the after-party. There, she wore a sheer black Ashi Studio Haute Couture dress featuring a lace corset bodice and a see-through skirt.
Timothée Chalamet also stayed in sync with Jenner's looks. For the after-party, he wore a black embossed blazer and slacks, complementing her outfit once again.
Jenner also appeared in black at the 2025 BAFTA Awards, Berlin Film Festival, and Santa Barbara Film Festival. Her looks included a vintage John Galliano dress and other bodycon styles. A source told PEOPLE in April that this awards season was intense for the couple.
A source said that the awards season and premieres earlier in the year had been intense for Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet's relationship, but they were making it work. The source added that Kylie was truly his biggest fan and often cleared her schedule to attend awards and premieres with him, showing full support for his career.

‘A Star Is Born' producer Lynette Howell Taylor elected president of Oscars org

The outgoing president, Yang, was elected to the position in 2022 and served in the role for the maximum of three years. read more Veteran producer Lynette Howell Taylor has been elected president of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. Taylor will succeed Janet Yang in the role, presiding over the organization that puts on the Oscars, film academy CEO Bill Kramer said Thursday. An academy member since 2014, Taylor has served the organization in several high-profile positions, including as vice president and chair of the awards committee. She's also a prolific film producer whose works include 'A Star Is Born' (2018), 'Blue Valentine' and 'The Accountant.' She also produced the 92nd Oscars broadcast. Taylor is now the fifth woman to lead the film academy. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The outgoing president, Yang, was elected to the position in 2022 and served in the role for the maximum of three years. Kramer said in a statement that Taylor has been a vital part of the board of governors and singled out how she 'revitalized our awards work.' Several officers were also elected by the board, including actor Lou Diamond Phillips as chair of the equity and inclusion committee and producer Jennifer Fox, who will chair the awards committee. 'This is an exceptional group of Academy members who will advance the Academy's mission, support our membership around the world, ensure our long-term financial stability, and celebrate the achievements of the global filmmaking community,' Kramer said. After years of declining ratings, the Oscars have been on an upswing the past few years. March's broadcast, in which 'Anora' won five Oscars, drew some 19.7 million viewers, a slight uptick from the ceremony the year prior, when 'Oppenheimer' dominated. The organization has already announced that Conan O'Brien will return as host in 2026 and has made several big changes for the future, including adding a stunt design award, starting with films released in 2027, and one for casting directors, which goes into effect this year.

Fall of fame: Why celebs need to start being mysterious again

Denzel Washington recently gave Michael B Jordan some killer advice: Stay out of the public eye. 'Why would people pay to see you on the weekend if they see you all week for free?' Fair point, right? Washington, 70, has been on screen for four decades without ever posting a thirst trap or a single OOTD. Most people don't even know who he's married to, let alone what's in his bag. Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner are all over our feeds. It's getting boring. (SHUTTERSTOCK) That's roughly the point – fame isn't the same as visibility. Spend a single full minute on Instagram and you'll likely see a celebrity show off three airport looks, make a red-carpet appearance, cross-post a shampoo/serum/sneaker collab, or give us a tour of their empty home. Actors, ones we'd see perhaps twice a year in a movie or TV show, are now sharing their oat cheela recipes, their nightly cleansing routine, their 34th gym selfie. They're filming a '73 questions' Reel, fuming through a Hot Ones interview, backtracking from a sketchy political opinion. But here's the thing: No one asked for this. The more we see them, they less special they feel. And the more tired we grow of them. Some stars learnt this the hard way. Remember 2011, when the internet suddenly turned on Anne Hathaway? The phenomenon even had a name: Hathahate. People blamed her awkward Oscars hosting, her overly earnest Les Misérables promotional campaign, and the fact that she was relentlessly perfect, polished, poised. But mostly, she was just everywhere. Hathaway later admitted, 'People needed a break from me.' In 2011, the internet turned on Anne Hathaway because she was everywhere. (SHUTTERSTOCK) Jennifer Lawrence felt it too. In 2013, she was Hollywood's cool girl. She tripped on the stairs at the Oscars, fangirled over Jack Nicholson, and everyone ate it up. But then she tripped again. And somewhere between the millionth 'relatable' soundbite and yet another Hunger Games promo, it all started to feel a bit rehearsed. By 2017, the JLaw fatigue was so real, she had to step away for a while. It was Timothée Chalamet's turn this year. At the SAG Awards, he told interviewers that he wanted to be 'one of the greats', like Bob Dylan. He came across as being full of himself. But really, we'd just been seeing too much of him. His relationship with Kylie Jenner didn't help. (Side note: We're also sick of the Kardashian-Jenner cinematic universe.) Most celebrities haven't yet figured out that their every little clip and interview now lives permanently online. Algorithms not only amplify, they deliver concentrated doses of coverage, which means that saturation points hit quickly with doomscrollers. Sara Ali Khan felt like a breath of fresh air when she discussed PCOD on Koffee With Karan in 2020. Then, went too far, by cosplaying middle-class. It was mildly surreal watching a Pataudi talk about not owning designer bags, or refusing to pay ₹400 for cellphone roaming. Beyoncé stopped giving interviews a long time ago. It's worked in her favour. (SHUTTERSTOCK) Denzel Washington's advice comes from an era when celebs consciously stayed a little out of reach, a little unknowable. Beyoncé does it well. She stopped giving interviews in 2014. Rihanna built a billion-dollar brand by only making appearances to promote her beauty and fashion lines. Keanu Reeves has zero social-media presence, but is still the internet's fave human. What does Rekha do all day? Who knows? She won't tell us. And she deserves 1,000 aura points for that. Tabu surfaces every now and then, delivers a masterclass in acting, and vanishes again. We love her, regardless. Publicists (and the creator ecosystem) might find Washington's tip useful. Start off with high-quality art, not templated content. Take risks, be scandalous. Stay mysterious. Ghost us for a bit. Wind-up dolls were never much fun, anyway. Size zero and six-packs to Ozempic: The changing face of Bollywood's 'fitness goals'

Bollywood has always influenced what India finds cool, be it fashion, romance, or body goals. And if there's one thing that has changed the most over the decades, it's the definition of fitness. From dancing in sarees to posing in gym mirrors, the way Bollywood stars stay fit has gone through a complete transformation. What once meant natural curves has now become about sculpted abs, protein shakes, and sometimes even mysterious injections. Let's take a look at how fitness in Bollywood got a makeover, The classic era: When curves were queen Back in the 60s, 70s and 80s, actresses like Mumtaz, Hema Malini, Zeenat Aman and Rekha were loved for their natural curves and graceful looks. There was no pressure to have six-pack abs or look a certain way. If you could dance through a full song in a chiffon saree without looking tired, you were fit! The heroes of that time, Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna, Shashi Kapoor, were manly and strong, but at least to the audience did not seem gym-obsessed and did not look like a body shaped by protein powders and weightlifting. No one asked about diets or workout routines. Actors stayed active with shooting, dancing, and action scenes. Fitness was simple, natural, and stress-free. Kareena 's ' Size Zero ' moment that changed everything The big turning point came in 2008, when Kareena Kapoor Khan showed off her slim body in a bikini in the film 'Tashan'. Suddenly, India went crazy over the idea of 'size zero'. Thin became the new fit. In a past interview with Harper's Bazaar, Kareena said, 'In my teens, I was just a Punjabi Kapoor, enjoying food and life without much concern. Transitioning to a size zero for a role was never planned—it was just something I did. I never imagined it would spark such a craze.' She also recalled this in a past chat with Ranveer Allahbadia, 'You have read me well, I am ambitious but never to the point that I would harm myself or my mental frame of mind… For size zero also I took the time, almost a year and a half to get into that look and it was like a challenge. 'Ek baar karna hai life mein' for an action film because I have never done an action film after that also.' Kareena's transformation made headlines and changed beauty standards overnight. Gyms were packed, diet fads became popular, and 'being skinny' became everyone's goal. The rise of six-pack heroes and fitness obsession As Kareena set new goals for women, Bollywood's male actors also started changing. Having a muscular, chiseled body became the new rule. Actors like Hrithik Roshan, John Abraham, Shahid Kapoor and later Tiger Shroff, Sidharth Malhotra , Varun Dhawan turned into gym idols. Even if a male character was just a college student or heartbroken lover, he had to be shirtless and fit. Arjun Kapoor, before entering Bollywood with 'Ishaqzaade', had to lose almost 50 kilos. On The Anupam Kher Show, he revealed, 'I was a 140 kgs. When Salman Bhai (Salman Khan, actor) encouraged me that I can be an actor, he told me 'Main tumhare andar se ek insaan nikaluga'.' He explained, 'I just started living with Salman. Everyone is busy but if you love yourself, you have to take time out for yourself, you have to be patient. This is a lifestyle. I cannot workout for three months and say 'I've lost weight now I can do anything'. That's a decision I took that I won't give up.' He further added, 'There will be bad days like when I would be watching TV and Hrithik Roshan would be dancing with his six pack abs and I sitting here with my tond (belly) hanging out. 'Ye toh nahi hone wala mujhse'.' Alia Bhatt's weight loss journey before her debut It wasn't just the boys. Even Alia Bhatt had to work hard to fit into Bollywood's image of a 'perfect debut heroine'. Before 'Student of the Year', she was asked to lose 20 kilos. In a 2014 interview with Daily Pioneer, she said, 'It was sheer pain. I felt as if I was an ugly duckling... I decided to shed weight, meet him and take the role. Only that would redeem my self-respect.' She explained, 'I was nervous, irritated, unsure and extremely apprehensive about this meeting with Karan but my parents insisted... At the end of this two-hour meeting, he said he could give me an audition but I would have to lose 20 kg in the next six months.' Fitness or fashion: Gym is the new ramp These days, working out has become as much about fashion as fitness. Paparazzi wait outside gyms. Malaika Arora, Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and others are clicked almost daily in their post-workout outfits. Suddenly, what you wore to the gym mattered more than your workout itself. Instagram was full of protein shakes, mirror selfies, and 'rise and grind' captions. Ozempic & Mounjaro: The secret behind sudden transformations? In recent times, new names have entered the fitness conversation, Ozempic and Mounjaro. These are weight-loss injections originally meant for diabetes but now being talked about in celebrity circles. When actor Ram Kapoor surprised everyone by losing 55 kilos, people couldn't stop guessing how he did it. Even Ekta Kapoor joked about it in an Instagram post, 'What do I do? I have gained a lot of weight. Should I do an anti-inflammatory diet? Mounjaro and Ozempic? All of the above? Zip my mouth? Ya chod du?... Hume bade hi achhe lagte hain.' She captioned it, Ozempic ho jaye. Ram revealed to his fans and followers saying, 'Apparently, after all this (weight loss) news has gone viral, many people think I've done something like Ozempic, other drugs, or surgery. Firstly, there's nothing wrong if I did, but in less than 30 seconds, I will prove that I have done nothing.' He added, 'I'm still a work in progress... This kind of transformation requires hard work, long hours, no shortcuts, no surgery, no Ozempic. ' Even Karan Johar, who also showed a big change in appearance, said on the Figuring Out With Raj Shamani podcast, 'I have always been battling the bulge... Now people keep asking me 'Are you on Ozempic, Mounjaro?' and I am tired of it. They have no idea about the truth, and I don't want to share it. I know I am healthy and lighter and I have never ever felt more confident in my skin… this is the first time… after 52 years.' Is body positivity really here? With all this talk about fitness, body image, and transformation, has Bollywood finally become more open about different body types? Kareena, who once started the 'size zero' trend, now says things have changed. In her chat with Ranveer Allahbadia, she said, 'Now, we are living in a generation where everything is accepted and I wouldn't like to say that such certain type of body would be accepted for an action film. I think, today everyone and anyone can do what they want to. So I am ready for an action movie now also. I don't need to be a size zero.' It sounds good, but the truth is, most stars still face pressure to look perfect. Social media has only added more pressure with filters and glam shots. So are we seeing progress, or just a more polished version of the same pressure?
