Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen suffers 'disastrous setback' after sharing major relationship update with fans

Daily Maila day ago
Our Yorkshire Farm 's Reuben Owen suffered a 'disastrous setback' in the most recent episode of Reuben Owen: Life In The Dales after sharing a major relationship update with fans.
Tuesday's instalment of the Channel 5 show saw the young farmer celebrate his 21st birthday with a trip to Whitby.
Reuben, his girlfriend Jessica Ellwood and a group of his pals hopped on their tractors for a 100-mile trip to the seaside for his big day.
However it didn't exactly go to plan.
On the first day Reuben's vintage tractor started leaking, followed by a massive problem the next day of the trek as his vehicle broke down on the way as they travelled up a hill.
Reuben said: 'It's not gone well for the old lass, I think this could be her final...'
But his pal Tommy, who came to save him from the side of the road, said: 'I hope not! You might've killed it on its first run out. She was a good tractor.'
The voice over said: 'It's a disastrous set back on day two, at this rate, Ruben's chances of making it to his own beach birthday party are looking slim.'
To make matters worse it happened again later on.
Reuben had to be towed up a hill and his girlfriend Jessica said: 'It's really, really struggling, is Reuben's tractor.'
The voice over added: 'At this rate, chops on the beach tomorrow for Reuben are looking increasingly unlikely.'
Reuben said: 'I don't know what's wrong with it! The water pump can't keep up.'
Despite all the problems, they managed to make it to the seaside on their tractors.
It comes after Reuben shared a rare relationship update.
Reuben and Jess have been dating for just over a year - and it sounds like things are getting serious and would like to live together soon.
He told The Mirror: 'We're just waiting for something to come up.
'I've got to try and get a nice place, get a bit of a farm somewhere one day.'
He added: 'It would be ideal to have a farm where I can park my diggers and she [Jessica] can have her sheep and cows.'
Speaking about starting a family, Reuben said: 'I don't think I fancy nine of them, I don't fancy nine at all.
'We'll have to wait and see.'
Reuben shot to fame alongside his famous mum Amanda, 50, dad Clive, 70, and his eight other siblings on Our Yorkshire Farm.
Amanda and Clive split in 2022 after 22 years of marriage.
Amanda recently shared an update on her teenage son Miles after revealing a medical emergency which saw him rushed to hospital in an air ambulance.
Back in 2022, Miles was airlifted to hospital after developing diabetic ketocaidosis (DKA) - a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones.
And on the most recent episode of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, which aired on Tuesday, shepherdess Amanda and her son visited The Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The pair reunited with the air ambulance service to thank them for their care of Miles at the time of his medical emergency as the teen opened up about the ordeal.
Speaking about the episode, Amanda took to Instagram on Wednesday night to share a collection of pictures of Miles from his time in hospital and update fans on his health.
'I am exceptionally proud of Miles in wanting to share his diagnosis with people, raise awareness and show that his Diabetes Type 1 doesn't hamper him or define him,' she wrote. 'LOOK AT HIM NOW.
'We are aware that many people played a part in @milesowen86 medical emergency. Behind the scenes as the whole scenario played out there were random acts of kindness from strangers.
'We all wanted to reach out and express gratitude to the people who made a positive difference on what must surely be one of the most difficult days that no one can ever be prepared for.
'To find yourself in hospital in only the clothes you were standing up in, unprepared and in shock.
'Then to be given a sideroom in which to sleep where on the bed there is a Pumpkin Parent Pack. A bag that had been filled with overnight essentials for anyone with a child in intensive care.
'When at your most fragile this kind of thoughtfulness is a blessed kindness.'
She continued: 'Also to Rangzaib who didn't flinch at taking me home, a four hour round trip from Middlesbrough to Ravenseat, on slippery roads, through ice and flurries of snow in his taxi for a nominal fee to cover fuel.
'He even went through drive through to buy me coffee ☕️. Not to mention ambulance control and crew.
'The helicopter pilot, the crash team & children's ward doctors and nurses at James Cooke. Hospital @nhsengland and our neighbour who brought the community defibrillator and was ready to use if required. These people are the best of the best.

Recalling their time in hospital, Amanda posted pictures of Miles in his hospital bed as he received treatment
'I am very proud of all of the family & how everyone pulled together.'
Amanda shared a sweet snap of her and Miles smiling as they sat in a car together, while in another he was seen back on the farm.
Recalling their time in hospital, Amanda posted pictures of Miles in his hospital bed, as well as a picture of the ward decorated for Christmas and another of Miles and his sister.
After spotting the helicopter in the sky, Amanda asked Miles: 'You don't remember any of it?'
To which Miles shook his head and told his mum: 'No.'
'It's bringing it all back for me even though it's not you!' Amanda told her son.
And just as the chopper landed, it all got too much for Amanda as she wiped away the tears from her face.
Amanda said: 'I'm not crying! I'm not crying!'

The mother and son duo were then reunited with Dr Rachel and critical care paramedic Mike, who helped Miles on the day and flew to Ravenseat Farm when it happened.
Amanda said: 'It's been a while hasn't it? Two years.
'Seeing you landing like that, it sort of brought it all back to me, really. Because, like I said, the last time I saw that land it was just like... you know.'
What is diabetic ketoacidosis?
Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a serious complication of diabetes that occurs when your body produces high levels of blood acids called ketones.
DKA was first described in 1886 and, until the introduction of insulin therapy in the 1920s, it was almost universally fatal.
Today the risk of death with adequate and timely treatment is currently around one to four per cent.
Symptoms of a DKA episode include nausea and vomiting, pronounced thirst, excessive urine production and abdominal pain.
According to figures just four per cent of people with type 1 diabetes develop DKA each year.
Rachel asked Miles how he was getting on, to which he replied: 'Good, I was saying to mum, I can't remember it at all. I was so out of it.'
Dr Rachel told him: 'You look a lot better than the last time we saw you!'
Earlier on in the episode they replayed the call that Amanda and former husband Clive, 70, to the emergency services.
Recalling what happened, Miles said: 'I felt awful all day.
'I didn't know what was up with me.
'Maybe it was something I was eating, maybe it was a bug, something like that, and then I was sick, I didn't know what was going on.
'I just thought Everyone is suck now and again. It's one of those things.
'Went to bed with no tea...'
Amanda asked if he remembered waking up and he said: 'Vaguely.'
Clive admitted it was 'one of the worst days of my life'.
Speaking about what happened ahead of the episode, Amanda said on Instagram: 'Tonight's episode of Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales is a challenging one.
'It has taken until now to share what happened in December 2022 when there was a big medical emergency on the farm.
'Miles wanted to share what happened to him to hopefully raise awareness of Type 1 diabetes and Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) which is a potentially life-threatening acute complication.
'Do tune in at 8pm on Channel 5 for an uplifting glimpse of how in difficult circumstances and locations individuals can change the narrative of a story and save lives.'
Many rushed to Instagram to share their love and support after Miles opened up about what happened in 2022
Many rushed to the comments section to share the love.
'This is so brave and honest of Miles to share this on tv. I am diabetic too and sometimes I think diabetes is so misunderstood especially by people who don't suffer from it nor have anyone close to them with it.'
'well done Miles for sharing. I don't think Diabetes is taken as seriously as it should be x.'
'It's great to see Miles share this and thank you all, it's a hideously worrying event that for most of us is thankfully infrequent, but no less worrying when this happens.'
'The Air Ambulance is such an important part of rural communities.'
'Thank you for sharing. Bless you all, such a beautiful family!!!! Sending lots of love ❤️ xx.'
Amanda and ex Clive are not just parents to Miles. The former couple, who split in 2022 after 22 years of marriage, are parents to nine kids.
They are also proud parents to Raven, 23, Reuben, 21, Edith, 16, Violet, 14, Sidney, 13, Annas, 11, Clemmy, nine, and Nancy, eight.
The family shot to fame on Our Yorkshire Farm back on Channel 4, which aired between 2018 and 2022.
Spin-off Our Farm Next Door landed on our screens last year and has already had two series.

Katie Price sends pointed message to ex Peter Andre just hours after branding him ‘pathetic'

KATIE Price has shared a pointed message just hours after branding ex husband Peter Andre 'pathetic' and claiming he 'banned her' from daughter Princess' 18th birthday party. The 46-year-old hit out on the latest episode of her podcast The Katie Price Show, which she hosts with sister Sophie, 35. 3 3 3 Katie, who shares Princess and son Junior, 20, with first husband Peter, 52, later took to Instagram to make her feelings on the matter very clear. She posted a message that read: 'I love my daughter.' The former glamour model then followed with another with the words: 'My daughter will always be my little princess.' Katie didn't hold back as she discussed being left off of the guest list for a party to celebrate Princess hitting the milestone - which will feature in the rising star's upcoming reality show. She said: " Princess is now officially an adult, so Mummy and Princess can now go out together, if certain people would let her be seen with me." She went on: "Everyone knows she's doing this documentary - and I'm not in it. Certain people don't think it's good for Princess to be seen with me. Certain people that used to look after me." Sophie chipped in: "You aren't on brand Katie. You are too risky Katie that's why." Katie then said: "It's pathetic. I'm her mother. Sophie added: "Oh of course it was! I wonder what restaurant did that for free." Continuing the rant, Katie said: "The fact is there's stuff my daughter is doing and I'm not allowed to be seen at any of it. "Certain people who are filming Princess' documentary used to do my filming. It's fine, it's just there's always conflict of interest. People will cotton on to this. So we do have to do something for Princess' 18th.' It comes after Katie suffered a mortifying blunder when she posted a birthday tribute to Princess two days before her big day. She was forced to swiftly delete the post, before .

Huge music star finally nominated for a knighthood after raising millions for charity and decades of chart success

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is on his way to being made a Sir. Bizarre can reveal he has officially been nominated for a knighthood — for his contribution to music and charity work. 11 11 It is now up to the honours committee who will send a shortlist of recommendations to the Prime Minister Keir Starmer and then King Charles to sign off. Robbie is tied with The Beatles for the most UK No1 albums, with 15 chart-topping records, as well as seven No1 singles as a solo artist. He is also responsible for creating Soccer Aid way back in 2006, which to date has raised £106million for Unicef, who he has been an ambassador for since 2000. Robbie has been involved in 11 Comic Relief events and is a patron for Music Support — a charity helping people in the industry who are suffering from addiction or mental health issues. Radio 2 breakfast show host Scott Mills has thrown his weight behind calls for Rob to get the honour. Scott told Bizarre: 'I think Robbie should be knighted, 100 per cent. For his contribution for music alone. 'Let's not forget, he's the most decorated Brits winner in history. I think we should celebrate and acknowledge how much joy he has brought. 'He deserves it. Not only for his contribution to music, but also for fighting his demons in the public eye and coming out the other side. 'He should be acknowledged for his honesty and bravery. He really is a role model.' Scott recently DJ'd at R obbie's Emirates Stadium gig and said: 'He reminds me of the Knebworth Robbie. 'He is at the peak of his powers. He has his mojo back. He would admit that he lost it for a while but he's like his old self, just clean and sober. 'It's clear that it doesn't scare him right now.' He added: 'I don't know why. I just think he's really comfortable in his skin. I really loved his film Better Man. 'I thought a lot of the reviews were really unfair. I got emotional and cried. I thought it was really clever and honest and I watched it three times.' It has already been a bumper year for Robbie. After kicking off his latest tour and with 13th album Britpop out in a few months, it's only going to get busier. I'd love to see him get the honour. In my eyes, it's long overdue. HEADSPACE IN LEW BOOTH LEWIS CAPADLI wowed fans with a surprise appearance as he launched his 'reflect booth' with TikTok. Among the crowds at London's Convent Garden on Wednesday was our Jack. Fans can visit the box to be guided through a meditation session. 11 11 11 Bizarre's Jack and Howell are talking all things Lewis on this week's Showbiz Fix, free at DIANA TOUR A FAMILY AFFAIR DIANA ROSS has brought her daughter Rhonda on tour to help look after her, along with her grandkids in town. Introducing them on stage at London's O2 Arena on Wednesday, she said: 'Rhonda is on the road with me to take care of mama as I am getting older.' Mixing up her set from previous shows, the singer added the 1988 hit If We Hold On Together but left out her cover of I Will Survive. Bizarre's Jack Hardwick was at both her opening night in Birmingham last month and her O2 gig and is happy to report that Diana was on top form after previously being plagued with some tech issues. Beaming as she danced, Diana told fans with a wink: 'I want you to move your body like this – and I'm 47.' She added: 'You know I'm 81, right? And I'm feeling say use it or lose it.' HAILEY YELLOW FEVER HAILEY BIEBER found the perfect way to show off her body, errr, I actually mean her new Rhode lip tint, by posing with it in her bikini. In a shot which drew attention to far more than just her latest cosmetics product, she wore a black bikini in a photoshoot on a beach and tucked the yellow tube into her cleavage. Apparently there's been a lot of discussion online about her new Lemontini gloss, which is described as having a 'sweet, citrusy lemon cocktail scent,' as lots of people suggested it should be inspired by the colour of butter instead. She said on Instagram: 'Stop asking me why it's not 'butter yellow.' It's not butter yellow because it's LEMON. Not butter. And butter yellow is played out…respectfully.' Who knew shades of yellow could provoke such a reaction? YUNG: I IDENTIFY AS A PAN YUNGBLUD joked that he sexually identifies as a 'saucepan', because he is pansexual. He said: 'I am the pan man — I'm the fing saucepan… Because it's the [label] that allows me to be who I am. It's the one with the most room for manoeuvre. 'I do feel like I am less insecure about it.' 11 The singer, whose album Idols is currently No1, will be celebrated at the Peugeot Attitude Pride Awards Europe 2025 today. It comes after he was questioned over his sexuality, having only recently ended a long-term relationship with a woman. He said: 'I don't fit into a box. If it's a fing vibe, I'll fing kiss you no matter what you are. I don't give a f. 'I'm a lover in terms of everything sexually. It's been the hardest thing to have my authenticity questioned, because I've only ever been myself.' SOPHIE ELLIS-BEXTOR, The Corrs and Rick Astley were among the winners at the O2 Silver Clef Awards on Wednesday. The bash at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London raised more than £715,000 for music therapy charity Nordoff and Robbins. 11 11 Before collecting the Outstanding Achievement in Music award, Rick hit out at acts including Kneecap and Bob Vylan after their violent on-stage political comments. Rick said: 'There's a time and a place to say what you want to. But I think some things should not be said.' That didn't later stop Best Live Act winners Idles shouting out Palestine in their acceptance speech. As Sophie, won Best Female, she said: 'I've actually got a shelf in my house where I put all my Best Female awards and this will take pride of place, and I promise it's not just because it's the first one I've ever won.' TONY CHRISTIE collected the Icon Award at the Nordoff and Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards. He said in an exclusive chat: 'I'm 82 and singing as good as I ever was.' Tony is on his farewell tour – but it might not be the end. He said: 'The amazing thing is, since I announced I was going to do a farewell tour, the phone has never stopped ringing. "It's gone berserk. The tour anyway was going to be a good two years because it takes in Australia, New Zealand and all these places, but now it's actually getting longer.' LEWIS HAMILTON amits he must watch what he eats before race days. Ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix, the F1 driver said at the launch of The House of Peroni Nastro Azzurro 0.0% in Covent Garden: 'I can only smell the pizza, as I've got to hit my target weight for the race. 'I love Indian food, it's my go-to. But carbs are limited right now.'

Star Wars actor Kenneth Colley dies aged 87

Published: | Updated: Star Wars actor Kenneth Colley has died at the age of 87 after contracting Covid and developing pneumonia . The English film and television actor is best known for starring in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as Admiral Piett, an imperial officer in command of Darth Vader's flagship. His agent of 10 years, Julian Owen issued a statement which said that he died 'peacefully' on Monday, June 30, in Ashford, Kent. After injuring his arm after a fall, he was taken to hospital where he caught Covid, which developed into pneumonia. The statement from his agent said: 'He had been admitted after a fall with an injured arm, however he quickly contracted Covid which developed into pneumonia. 'He passed away peacefully with friends at his bedside. Ken Colley was one of our finest character actors with a career spanning 60 years. 'Ken continually worked on stage, film and television playing a vast array of characters, from Jesus in Monty Python's Life of Brian to evil and eccentric characters in Ken Russell films, and the Duke of Vienna in Shakespeare's Measure for Measure for the BBC.' In later years, he reprised his role of Admiral Piett when he voiced the character in the 2012 animated Lego production, Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out. According to Colley, the character of Piett was not originally slated to appear in Return of the Jedi, but George Lucas added him because Lucasfilm had received 'a lot of fan mail' about the character. Colley said he got the original Empire role when he impressed director Irvin Kershner. He said Kershner told him he was 'looking for someone that would frighten Hitler' - and then added after their meeting: 'Yes, I think you're it'. He once said he grew to like the actor he worked with most, David Prowse, who wore Darth Vader's suit in the original films. The actor explained: 'I couldn't afford to like him too much, or else it would come into the scene. But underneath that rubber suit is a real nice guy.' He also had parts in international productions, including Clint Eastwood's Firefox and the Second World War series War and Remembrance. The statement added: 'Ken's favourite part was playing Estragon in the stage production of Beckett's classic Waiting for Godot at the Cockpit Theatre in London in 2014. 'Ken's participation in Star Wars led him to being invited to conventions and official fan events all over the World where he remains one of the best loved actors from the original trilogy. 'Ken loved his garden, art collecting and had a passion for fast cars.' Fans have paid tribute to Colley on social media, with one writing: 'You are immortalised in a galaxy far, far away, and in the hearts of Star Wars fans everywhere. May the Force Be With You.' Another added: 'Sad to hear about Kenneth Colley's passing. Covid and pneumonia are still taking a toll. RIP to the Admiral Piett actor.' He is also known for playing Jesus in Monty Python's Life of Brian alongside English actors' John Cleese, Graham Chapman and Michael Palin. In recent years, he had stints on Holby City to Peaky Blinders, and appeared on two episodes of a Doctor Who special. One of his early appearances on British television was as Noah Riley in the 1970s police drama The Sweeney. He even had a go a directing with Greetings a 2007 horror film starring Kirsty Cox, Henry Dunn and Ben Shockley.
