Livvy Dunne goes to the Hamptons for Fourth of July beach weekend

New York Post2 days ago
The Fourth of July had some perfect beach weather in the New York area, and Olivia 'Livvy' Dunne wasn't going to miss out.
The viral sensation and former LSU gymnast traveled to the Hamptons for a beach day, according to snaps on her Instagram account.
Dunne, who boasts north of 5 million followers on the social media platform, posted on both her story and main feed, the latter of which contained a three-photo carousel at a beach in Southampton on the east end of Long Island.

'Red, white & freckled,' she wrote as she posed on the sand in, not surprisingly, a red and white bikini.
To block out some of the sun, she also wore a straw hat.
Dunne also posted one picture to her Instagram story while having fun with a friend in Bridgehampton, later uploading a video to TikTok in an all-white dress.
Last year, Dunne had attended Michael Rubin's ever-famous white party in the Hamptons, which Page Six reported did not happen this year.
It's not the first time this summer that Dunne, a New Jersey native, has shared some looks into her post-LSU life, as she posted about her 'East Coast summer' in June, which included pictures of sunbathing in a blue and white bikini and partying with influencer Alix Earle at the Jersey Shore.
Dunne, a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover model for 2025, also took in a Mets game at Citi Field in mid-May when the Pirates — the team Paul Skenes, her boyfriend, pitches for — took on the Mets before she went to Madison Square Garden for a Knicks playoff game the next week.

‘Still #1'? UCLA and UC Berkeley spark social media war over college rankings

A social media showdown is heating up between two of California's most prestigious universities, as UC Berkeley and UCLA trade digital jabs over which truly deserves the title of America's top public university. The rivalry reignited after U.S. News & World Report released its global university rankings last month. UC Berkeley emerged as the highest-ranked U.S. public institution on that list, placing No. 6 overall — just behind elite private schools such as Harvard, MIT and Stanford. Berkeley wasted no time capitalizing on the moment. Its social media accounts lit up with posts declaring the school '#1 public,' featuring a dancing Oski the Bear and the hashtag '#HolyAirBall,' a playful meme referencing underestimation. Not to be outshone, UCLA clapped back days later. 'Still #1,' the Bruins proclaimed in posts citing U.S. News' national undergraduate rankings from last September, where UCLA has claimed the top public spot for eight consecutive years. The friendly fire quickly escalated into an all-out comment war among alumni and fans, with Reddit threads dissecting the rankings and Instagram flooded with Bear and Bruin emojis. Even university leaders stepped in. "We admire UCLA's eagerness to take a single ranking for its undergraduate program and use it for all it is worth,' Berkeley Chancellor Rich Lyons said in a statement to the Chronicle on Monday. 'We know how challenging a sibling rivalry can be for the younger sibling. Go Bears (and Bruins).' Mary Osako, UCLA's vice chancellor for strategic communications, sounded a similar note. 'Bruins everywhere love celebrating our No. 1 ranking — we've been diligently doing so for 8 years, but who's counting?' she said in a statement to the Chronicle. 'Our playful banter may have ruffled a few (golden) feathers. UCLA and Cal are both top public universities that are changing the world for the better. Bruin or Bear, we can all be proud of that.' Beneath the snark lies a murkier reality: The two rankings rely on very different methodologies. The global list emphasizes academic research and reputation, while the national one focuses on student outcomes, such as graduation rates and social mobility. In other rankings — from Forbes to the Wall Street Journal — Berkeley often comes out ahead, particularly in measures related to research output and graduate earnings. Still, UCLA consistently shines in undergraduate-focused metrics, and the two schools frequently trade positions or tie. 'There are many rankings, each has a slightly different focus, and each with its own source of noise,' Lyons said, noting that he keeps the rankings table in his coat pocket every day.

A former NY Mets outfielder is listing his Florida ranch for a cool $30 million

The nearly 400-acre estate owned by Yoenis Cespedes, a former outfielder for the New York Mets, can be yours for $30 million. The private equestrian and hunting estate, "La Potencia II" — a nod to Cuban-born Cespedes' baseball nickname of "La Potencia," which means "The Power" in Spanish — is located near Clover Park, the Mets spring training home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. La Potencia II reportedly is where Cespedes suffered his debilitating injury in 2019. He suffered multiple right ankle fractures during an incident with a wild boar, which either charged toward Cespedes or startled him, according to a Major League Baseball news release. A look inside La Potencia II La Potencia II, at 16675 C-24 Canal Road, is listed by Julian Johnston and Lina Agosto, of real estate firm Corcoran Group. "This is not just a home. It's a private kingdom, custom-built for those who live life at full tilt," according to a Corcoran Group news release. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report the listing. At the heart of the estate is a modern, nearly 16,000-square-foot home with six bedrooms, four bathrooms and two powder rooms. 'It's so impressive when you walk in," Johnston said. "It's a beautiful house." The home's amenities include a chef's kitchen, a batting cage, a 40-by-20-foot heated pool, spa, screened patio, a private barber shop (built by Cespedes to accommodate his personal grooming routine while on the ranch) and a 12-stall horse stable with training yards. Famous athlete homes: Waterfront home developed by former Florida Panthers' star Ed Jovanovski for sale 'I was in there half an hour trying to hit a ball,' Johnston said about the batting cage. 'That machine throws curve balls, fast balls. It's a lot of fun, but it's hard to hit the ball. They make it look easy.' Cespedes purchased the property in June 2016 for nearly $15 million, according to St. Lucie County Property Appraiser's Office. He envisioned the estate as a place of performance, relaxation and escape, the Corcoran Group news release said: "It reflects the lifestyle of someone who made his name with power, precision and purpose — on and off the field." La Potencia II is the second-most expensive home listing ever in St. Lucie County, runner-up to Wayne Huizenga's riverfront estate in Palm City, which is listed for $39 million. Cespedes once owned a ranch near Vero Beach, known as "La Potencia," which has been sold, Johnston said. Cespedes still plans to reside in the area after selling the property, Johnston said. He's looking for his new home anywhere between Vero Beach and Palm Beach, Johnston said. Cespedes' MLB career Following his defection from Cuba in 2011, Cespedes began his MLB career with the Oakland Athletics in 2012. He was traded to the Mets in 2015. An outfielder who typically played left field, over the course of his career he played in 834 games and hit 165 home runs, finishing his career with a .273 batting average. Cespedes made headlines in 2016 for pulling up to the Mets' spring training camp in exotic cars — such as a $65,000 three-wheel Polaris and a $300,000 "fire-breathing Lamborghini." "Being in Cuba, I never thought I was going to be here in the United States,' Cespedes told TCPalm at the time through a translator. 'After I got here, I saw the possibilities. I could have whatever I want, so I worked hard for it." Cespedes' injury he suffered from the boar-related incident at La Potencia II in 2019 prevented him from playing that season. His last Major League game was Aug. 1, 2020, in Atlanta, a Mets loss to the Atlanta Braves. Jack Randall is TCPalm's economy and real estate reporter. You can reach him at or 904-466-4755.

5 Bob Haircut Trends Everyone Is Asking For This Summer

courtesy of spoke and weal NY Here's the thing about a good haircut: It only takes one photo to spark inspiration. If you're feeling a little lost this summer, we're here to help. Bob haircuts are particularly fun because if you've been a Refinery29 reader for a while you know, we appreciate the often imperceptible but critical details that make an Italian bob different from a French bob (the former is more cropped to the ears, and the latter is often structural and includes a bang). Here, we're breaking down the top bob trends of the moment — for summer 2025 — in hopes that they might inspire your next appointment. Find our predictions with imagery for you to save and expert styling advice, ahead. Carved bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by Spoke & Weal (@spokeandweal) The technique used to create a carved bob gives the hair a very lived-in look, "similar to when you cut hair using a razor," explains hairstylist Amanda Lee. The cut, which is purposefully grown-out with tapered ends, was popular in 2018 and 2019 and is seeing a resurgence. "It's a creative cut based on removing weight and creating layers that provide lift and movement into the hair," explains hairstylist Cassadi Currier. Flipped bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lindsey Neavitt (@lindseyneavitt901) Many stylists track the origins of the flipped bob back to the '60s. "It had a very retro feel," explains Lee. "Jackie Kennedy is the first name to come to mind when I think of the flipped bob." There's an innate elegance to this style but it's pretty versatile. The current variation is cut short, maybe slightly asymmetrical, and has some polish. For styling, Lee recommends using a hot brush (like the Mane Medium Hot Brush, $98) to give your hair a good flip on the ends and a smoothing balm (she prefers the Emi Jay Angelstick, $38) to polish any flyaways. Fluffy bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by DECEMBER FULLY BOOKED (@hairbyanaiss) A fluffy or "soft-sweeping layered bob" is a modern favorite among stylists. "It's one of my favorite types of bob haircuts," says Currier, "and I love that most of them have a deep-set side part." Lee considers the fluffy bob a modern version of a classic cut. "The fluffy bob is really just a modern take on the classic bob shape, giving it more volume and movement," she says. To style, she recommends a big round brush, a round brush blow dryer, or a round brush attachment (if you're using a Dyson). Japanese bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by 菊池 洵 / 美容師 (@jun__kikuchi) "The Japanese bob is also a chin-length bob that really hugs the curvature of the face," says Currier. "This bob is usually parted in the middle and has gorgeous sweeping layers that go away from the face with blunt ends." The name comes from the country of origin and inspiration. In Japanese hair salons, this is just a short bob. For styling a Japanese bob, Currier recommends using a flat iron and "beveling" sections, curving the hair under. But for the pieces around the face, "you're going to want to direct the flat iron forward in the opposite direction and sweep backward towards the ear to give a bit of a curved, sweeping look to the fringe," she explains. Bitchy bob View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jenna Perry Hair Studio (@jennaperryhairstudio) This bob is fun. It's polished, one-length, and hits right at the corners of the mouth. It has some high-fashion edge and attitude, which is likely why hairstylist Jordan Luger at Jenna Perry Salon in NYC calls it the "bitchy bob." If you're thinking of inching up this summer, this is a charming way to go about it.
