Vernon Kay belts out Oasis tracks at second gig just days after Cardiff show
Vernon Kay sang along with Liam and Noel Gallagher as he attended the Oasis gig in Manchester last night, just days after enjoying the band's gig in Cardiff.
The two brothers returned to Heaton Park, 16 years since they last performed in their hometown. They are due to perform in Manchester again this evening. Radio and TV host Vernon, 51, was among the nearly 80,000 people who attended the concert on Friday night.
After the gig, he shared a selfie video of himself singing along to Oasis ' 1994 hit Live Forever as he shows the crowd next to him having fun at the concert. Wearing sunglasses and a hat, Vernon can be seen smiling at the camera with the band performing in the background.
He captioned the Instagram clip, "Manchester! Day1. @oasis The excellence continues! Bravo!!" As he walked out arm in arm with his brother, Noel said, "This is the f-----g place! This is it!" Liam then shouted: "Oasis vibes in the area! Manchester vibes in the area!"
Fans had queued overnight to bag a good spot for the band's first concert at the venue - with more dates planned for tonight, July 16, July 19 and July 19. Vernon had also attended the comeback gig in Cardiff on Friday last week - and said he thought the band's tour could have the ability to "elevate the mood of the nation" if the gigs continue to be epic events on sunny weekends.

Speaking to The Mirror after the concert last Friday, Vernon said: "As you can probably tell by my voice, Oasis was epic. It was everything that you expected it to be. No, I'll rephrase that. It was everything that you wanted it to be.
"We expected greatness, and we got fantastic. It was a gig of a lifetime, especially, I think, for all those people who have just got into Oasis. There were a lot of young people there. There were a couple of lads next to us who hadn't been drinking because they wanted to savour every moment, and they had their first pint at the end because it was this big a moment they wanted to savour for every second. And rightly so.
"It was superb. They played all the tunes that you wanted them to play, 23 in total, I think it was. And it just makes you realise that Oasis are as good as everyone talks up Oasis to be. They were brilliant."
Oasis: What's Their Story? An unofficial celebration magazine on sale now!
A few simple words on social media on August 27 in 2024 were enough to spark pandemonium among Oasis fans and were the catalyst for the most eagerly awaited UK gigs of all time.
This special unofficial magazine, available to order here, marks the reunion and honours the band both now and down the years with our incredible archive of photos and interviews - and with exclusive reviews and photographs of their first show!
He added: "Liam's voice was probably the best it's been in a long, long time. Whatever he's been doing, whatever training, whatever warm ups, whatever vocal coaching he's been taking is absolutely working, so good. Noah was fab as always.
"It was just a great gig, hit after hit after hit. The atmosphere was really positive. And I've been saying on the radio that if the weather is great, this Oasis tour is really going to elevate the mood of the nation and the majority, I think all of the reviews have been fantastic, and rightly so. Oasis are back and long may continue."
After their five sold-out shows in Manchester, Oasis will visit London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park throughout July, August and September. Their reunion announcement came after Noel had quit the band, saying he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer," after a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris in 2009. The brothers announced the Oasis Live '25 tour last August.
While many fans were thrilled, some were left outraged after a number of standard tickets in the UK and Ireland jumped from £148 to £355. The controversy prompted the Government and the UK's competition watchdog to pledge to look at the use of dynamic pricing.
viagogo and resale tickets
Sites such as viagogo, Stubhub, and Vivid Seats allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that ticket conditions often prohibit resale after initial purchase. Those tickets may not be valid for admittance to gigs.
Fans intending to buy tickets for live events through resale websites should check the ticket terms and conditions, to confirm whether resale is prohibited, before they buy. Ticket terms and conditions can be checked with the original seller, such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation. If resale is prohibited, tickets bought second-hand could be voided and admission to the event refused.

Fans rejoice as beloved Friends actor, 32, makes a surprising comeback
He once starred in one of the most iconic sitcoms of all time but Cole Sprouse, 32, has come a long way from his days on the Friends set. The former child star, who portrayed Ross Geller's son Ben in seven episodes of the beloved series, is now best known for his lead role in Netflix 's Riverdale. But it's another project that has fans rejoicing once again this week. Sprouse's side hustle is running a chaotic, cult-favorite Instagram account called @camera_duels, where he posts candid snaps of fans who try to secretly photograph him in public by snapping a photo of them back. The account became a viral sensation a couple of years ago but in June 2023 Sprouse stopped posting to it. 'It started because I was pissed off,' Cole previously told Wonderland magazine. 'I try to approach a lot of the strange trappings of celebrity and the culture with comedy… the actions and feelings and vibes that people put off when they're about to do something like that is so obvious and comical that it begs a duel.' The account was originally meant to shame people who tried to sneak photos without asking. But it has ironically turned into a bucket list item for fans with many admitting they now try to stage a stealth photo just to be featured. 'That was an oversight on my behalf,' Cole admitted. 'I should have seen that coming!' Now Sprouse is back posting to his Instagram. Last week he shared a rambling yet poetic takedown of a father in a Speedo snapping a photo of him at the beach. The caption included everything from commentary on the surveillance state to the unfortunate visibility of 'a 50+ shivering meatus' behind thin swimwear. Fans couldn't get enough and the post left followers fangirling over him. His account now boasts over 4.6million followers, with each post bombarded with fan messages. Sprouse played Ben for just seven episodes between 2000 and 2002 but suddenly disappeared from Friends without explanation. The real reason was because his character was written out as the show to focus more on Ross' relationship with Rachel and later, their daughter Emma. Still, despite his brief time on the show, the Friends fans have not let go. Fans have speculated that Ross may have lost custody of Ben off-screen, due to his increasingly erratic behavior. Sprouse himself has even joked about the theory, agreeing that Ross 'wasn't the most present father' during a previous GQ interview. In 2015, a Reddit user named D.F. Lovett hypothesized that Cole's character still existed but that Ross lost custody of him. 'Friends was on for ten seasons, but Ben doesn't show up in person after episode 12 of season eight,' the Reddit user posted. The post continued: 'He's only mentioned six times in the remaining 54 episodes after his last appearance. 'People like to give Ross the benefit of the doubt, wondering if perhaps he was a better father off-screen. Perhaps his children met but the audience never saw. 'The more likely answer is that he was such a deadbeat father that he completely faded away from his son's life, pretending to his family and so-called friends that he still saw a boy he barely knew.' Sprouse has also previously shared details of his time on set and admitted he had a major crush on Jennifer Aniston while filming Friends at just eight years old. 'I had a really, really hard time working with Aniston because I was so in love with her', he confessed to the New York Post. 'I was infatuated. I was speechless. I'd get all bubbly and forget my lines and go completely blank. It was difficult.' The role on Friends was Cole's first acting job where he starred without his twin brother, Dylan, because the sitcom didn't require both twins. Sprouse went on to star on Disney's The Suite Life of Zach and Cody with his brother before landing a role as Jughead in Riverdale after graduating from college. Sprouse said fans still regularly recognize him as Ben from Friends. 'Because Friends is on Netflix, there's renewed interest,' he explained in an interview with Marie Claire in 2022. 'People can call me 'Ben' on the street and I will turn around.'

Lorraine Kelly films show for ITV rival amid 'opening eyes' to new projects
Lorraine Kelly was away filming last month and it's now been reported that she was working on a 'big budget' travel show for Channel 4 ahead of changes to her ITV talk show TV presenter Lorraine Kelly is said to have filmed a "big budget" project for Channel 4 recently. Ahead of changes to her long-running ITV talk show next year, it's been teased that she's considering other options that she could explore. Lorraine, now 65, has fronted her eponymous show for more than a decade, with it having launched in 2010. It was however announced by ITV earlier this year that, from January next year, episodes will be reduced to 30 minutes. It was also revealed that the show will then only run for 30 weeks each year. Following the news, last month, Lorraine shared that she was away and teased that she was having "big filming adventures" in Norway. She said in a video message on Instagram: "I'm in the land of the midnight sun. It's absolutely glorious. It's a project that I've wanted to do for years and years, and finally it's actually happening. I'm heading really, really far north." It's now been reported by the Sun that Lorraine flew to the country last month to work on a travel show for Channel 4, rather than ITV. A source told the outlet that the broadcaster was "delighted" to have signed up Lorraine for the project. The source said it was "exciting" for her to do "something different" and to be back on location somewhere. They teased that amid the shake-up at ITV daytime shows, her "loyal" fans will support Lorraine "wherever she goes". They said: "Despite the apparent slight in the ITV daytime shake-up, Lorraine's loyal fanbase isn't to be underestimated and they will follow her wherever she goes. She's survived in this business a long time, and she's a master at rolling with the punches." It's also been reported by the outlet that the production role Head of Lorraine is being axed at ITV. It's claimed that her two producers are set to instead report to bosses on This Morning. The source said that it casts doubt on the future of the talk show and claimed that her current contract finishes next year. The source teased: "She's opening her eyes up to the many options available to her." ITV said in a statement: "We have always said that from January 2026, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women will be three editorially distinct shows which will be produced by one team. These changes are not about the performance of the shows or the staff. We can assure our viewers that their favourite daytime shows will remain familiar to them on screen." Although best known for her work on ITV, Lorraine has appeared on other channels over the years too. It includes her having been on Channel 4's the Last Leg on several occasions and she mentioned the show on a podcast recently. She teased last month that she's able to be "a bit naughty" on shows away from ITV's Lorraine. As reported at the time, she said to Tom Kerridge on the Proper Tasty podcast: "40 years in TV last year was incredible. I got a BAFTA. 'Here's a BAFTA for being alive.' I thought, 'Hang on a minute, I'm not done yet'. "I think now I can be a lot cheekier. Because I've always been a bit naughty. Not so much in the morning, but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that." She teased: "You can be unleashed. And I quite like that. You do have to have a self-edit button and I'm finding mine is not operating as much as it should."
