DOGE Put Him in the Treasury Department. His Company Has Federal Contracts Worth Millions
Krause is now in charge of both a sensitive government payment system and a company that has millions of dollars worth of active contracts with various federal agencies through distribution partners, according to a WIRED review of searchable spending records. The Department of Treasury alone accounts for a dozen ongoing contracts tied to Krause's company that are together valued between $7.3 million to $11.8 million. These include licenses for the data visualization tool ibi WebFocus and purchases of systems called Citrix NetScaler that help manage traffic to apps. (Some publicly posted procurement records do not break out contract details, so actual figures may be even higher.)
Critics have expressed concern about the alleged conflicts of interest posed by Krause's decision to keep his role in the private sector. Cloud Software could benefit from extending its federal contracts or securing additional ones, though there is no public evidence that Krause has done anything improper with his dual roles. Existing federal regulations also bar actual and apparent unjust favoritism in contracting. 'Public trust in those safeguards is nonnegotiable,' says Scott Amey, general counsel at the Project On Government Oversight, a nonpartisan watchdog group.
As Krause moves forward with two jobs, he could have to potentially navigate not only contracting conflicts, but also dueling crises. 'What would happen if a Citrix emergency emerges at the same time as Treasury obligations?' says Jeff Hauser, founder and executive director of the Revolving Door Project, which researches federal appointees. 'Generally, the thicket of restrictions on full time employees would make a CEO role impossible in an administration which took adherence to ethics laws seriously.'
Krause, the Treasury Department, and Cloud Software didn't respond to requests for comment. Cloud Software investors also didn't respond to a request for comment.
The Treasury Department has told Congress that Krause is a 'special government employee'—a type of temporary role—that is supposed to be held to 'the same ethical standards of privacy, confidentiality, conflicts of interest assessment, and professionalism of other government employees.' In a foreword to a code of conduct policy posted on Cloud Software's website, Krause states, 'Cloud Software Group is committed to ensuring that its business is conducted ethically, in compliance with the law, and according to its values of integrity, honesty and respect.'
Krause is among a group of several dozen veteran tech executives, mid-level tech operations managers, and fresh-out-of-school software coders who have been recently installed across a series of federal agencies under the auspices of the self-styled Department of Government Efficiency. DOGE's authority is being challenged by some Democratic state attorneys general. In the meantime, its representatives have been carrying out an order from President Donald Trump to cut costs and modernize technology across the government.
There is some precedent for corporate executives to simultaneously work in the US government. When the US was at war in the early 1900s, the federal government recruited business leaders to fill key posts. They retained their private sector jobs and wages; the government pitched in a $1 annual salary to the executives who became known as 'dollar-a-year men.' Congress later raised concerns that some of them had engaged in self-dealing.
Since then, other executives have continued to retain their jobs as they serve on government boards and commissions, typically in a part-time capacity. But maintaining a day-to-day operational role in both the federal government and at a corporation is now virtually unheard of, says David E. Lewis, a political scientist who wrote a book on appointed government bureaucrats. 'Most persons in regular executive positions divest themselves of private interests before government service,' he says.
Trump, according to his company, has handed management of his businesses, including hotels and golf courses, to his children for the duration of his presidency (though he reportedly still takes meetings that have raised questions among ethics experts). Musk, who is CEO of Tesla and SpaceX and has oversight of four other companies, including X and Neuralink, has been a vocal figure in DOGE's operations, but the White House has said he's not actually in charge—without specifying who is leading the project. Some of the other individuals associated with DOGE are otherwise unemployed, have taken leave, or maintain dual roles but at lower levels than chief executive.
Krause is the only Trump administration official identified so far as being a CEO and a day-to-day decision maker inside one particular agency. After years of working as an executive at chip companies, Krause joined Florida-based Cloud Software Group in 2022. The company was created that year as part of a private equity-backed acquisition of Citrix, followed by a merger with Tibco, another tech company. At the time, Citrix was saddled with an extensive amount of debt and generating essentially stagnant revenues, and while Tibco had not recently publicly disclosed its finances, analysts had considered the company's outlook to be 'negative.'
The US government, including state and local agencies, is expected to spend $287 billion on technology this year, or about 14 percent of overall US tech spending, according to Forrester, a research and advisory company. Whether DOGE's efforts to boost the quality and efficiency of federal IT systems will lead that spending to increase or decrease isn't clear. So far, DOGE has both tried to purchase emerging technologies and moved to cancel some existing contracts. But Krause's inside access could potentially provide an advantage to Cloud Software at a pivotal moment for the company.
Over the past couple of years, Cloud Software has laid off thousands of people and faced accusations that it potentially became lax with cybersecurity. Cloud Software's most well-known offering, Citrix, enables groups of workers to access data and run apps that are located on a remote machine. But increasing adoption of tools that can operate on any device has chipped away at some of Citrix's dominance, according to Will McKeon-White, senior analyst for infrastructure and operations at Forrester. There are other options now, he says, including from Microsoft and smaller companies such as Island.
Cloud Software's Tibco program, which helps workers automate tasks such as adding a new user to multiple internal databases, is often mentioned in the wrong sort of conversations these days, according to David Mooter, a Forrester principal analyst. 'They tend to come up more when somebody wants to abandon them,' he says.
That said, some Cloud Software services are more affordable than alternatives for governments, and they also are better suited for the older infrastructure used by some agencies. Last year appears to have been one of Citrix's best in a long time financially, says Shannon Kalvar, a research director for enterprise systems management and other areas at IDC. One reason for the upswing is that Citrix has put more emphasis on catering to the feature demands of its largest customers, including governments.

Best Prime Day Beauty Deals 2025: Hair, Skin, and Dental Care
Amazon Prime Day runs from July 8 to 11, and it's a feeding frenzy for beauty steals, so I'm here to help you spend your money semi-responsibly. I've combed through countless hot tools, dental devices, and skin care gadgets to find the best Prime Day beauty deals. We've tested everything here and would vouch for these products even without a markdown. (This is WIRED, after all.) I'll be updating this list daily as more deals go live, so keep checking back. If you're shopping for other gadgets and gizmos, check out our Best Prime Day Deals roundup or our Prime Day liveblog. Updated 6:15 pm ET July 11, 2025: We've added the Solawave 4-in-1 Renewal Wand, Chi Volume Styler, Wavytalk Heatwave Pro Thermal Set, Chi G2 flat iron, and Dyson Airwrap i.d. Multi-Styler and Dryer to this story, plus updated prices and removed dead deals. WIRED Featured Deals An LED Wand If you don't want to use an LED mask on your entire face and would rather focus on specific areas, then Solawave's LED Wand is a good choice. It's good for tightening skin around the eyes, according to a few different WIRED staffers, and the vibration and warmth therapy are nice bonuses. It's our top pick for spot treatment in our guide to the Best Red Light Therapy Masks and LED Devices. A Powerful Dyson Hair Dryer This is a pared-down Dyson hair dryer. It just has one attachment, but offers the same fast drying and protects against heat damage. The machine measures air temperature over 40 times a second, regulating the heat to make sure it never gets too hot, and like Dyson's vacuums, it has a powerful motor that spins at up to 110,000 rpm to fast-dry hair without the damaging heat. A Hair Dryer for Sensitive Scalps If you have a sensitive scalp like me, the Shark SpeedStyle Pro Flex is worth the investment. Shark's Scalp Shield feature monitors heat 1,000 times a second to ensure it never exceeds 230 degrees Fahrenheit. It comes with four versatile attachments à la Dyson, and it's surprisingly light (1.57 pounds). Plus, it folds up for easy travel or storage. I've tested the Dyson Airwrap, and this gets you there for way less cash. The Best Blow-Dry Brush Featured in our guide to the Best Blow-Dry Brushes, the Drybar Double Shot has three heat levels, reaching 275 degrees Fahrenheit at the top end, but it manages to not leave hair feeling fried. When testing, we got great hair results just using Drybar's simpler settings compared to brushes with more options. The Double Shot made our reviewer's hair nice and smooth while giving it volume, and managed to give less frizz than other models. A Budget Blow-Dry Brush We've tested a lot of blow-dry brushes, but the Revlon One-Step Volumizer Plus (8/10, WIRED Recommends) wins on value. It dries and styles at once, with a slimmer, 2-inch oval barrel that's detachable and easier to handle than the original. The ceramic titanium tourmaline coating cuts down on heat damage, and four settings (plus a cool shot) give you all the control you need. At $46 (down from $70), it's a steal. An Affordable Upgrade The Chi Volume Styler is a blow-dry brush that has a cool addition to it: a heated comb side to help style your hair and tame flyaways that could be caused by the hot hair blowing your hair around. It's a good tool that nicely dupes the expensive GHD Duet Blow Dry (8/10, WIRED Recommends), especially for such a lower price point. And even cheaper now on sale! Our Favorite Budget Hair Straightener As seen in our Best Hair Straighteners guide, Conair's Infinity Pro is the best hair straightener you're likely to find for under 20 bucks. It not only heats all the way up to 455 degrees Fahrenheit, the little dial on the side offers a mind-boggling 30 set temperature points, so you can be sure to find the one that works for your hair. A New Twist On an Old Favorite If you liked the OG Chi straightening iron, a staple on many a counter since 2006 (and for sale itself at 50% off), you might consider upgrading to Chi's G2—or 'generation 2"—while it's still on sale. It's got a new digital screen, a chime that tells you when it's heated up, and titanium-infused plates for more straightening power. (Max heat is 425 degrees Fahrenheit.) I have a few more weeks to go with this in my testing for the Best Hair Straighteners guide, but early results are promising. —Kat Merck Our Fave Thermal Brush If you want a blowout look without needing wet hair, a thermal brush is for you. There are a ton of these out there (and you might see them called blowout brushes or infrared brushes, since they use infrared heat) but my favorite is easily the WavyTalk Heatwave Pro Thermal Set since it comes with three different sized heads you can switch out, letting you choose based off your vibe that day or the look you want to go for. —Nena Farrell If You Love Amika WIRED reviewer Louryn Strampe declared this the best hair mask for fine hair in her guide to the Best Hair Masks. She felt like didn't necessarily provide enough hydration for her curly hair, but her straight-haired friend (and many internet commenters) rave about it. Decide for yourself while it's over 30% off. A Heat Protectant We Love There are a lot of Hot Tools hair products I like, but this heat protectant spray might be my favorite from the brand. It doesn't smell great, I'll admit, but its frizz-fighting and shine-imparting power are comparable to brands three times the price, like Oribe. I also like that it protects up 455 degrees Fahrenheit, which is enough for just about any tool you'd want to use. —Kat Merck A Water Flosser I'm a devout flosser, and while this Waterpik isn't a replacement for string floss, it's a killer addition to my dental care routine. The rotating nozzle and three pressure settings blast gunk from places threads can't reach. One fill gives you 45 seconds of powerful spray, which is all I need. It's compact, waterproof, and cordless. It charges fast in just four hours and comes with a travel bag and tip case. Ideal for tight counters and travel. My gums have never been happier. A Popular Heat Protectant Spray This wasn't a top pick in my guide to the Best Heat Protectant Sprays, but it's still a solid, lightweight option that's also hydrating thanks to its infusion of argan oil. It has a fine mist like a hairspray, so you don't have to worry about applying too much and dealing with heavy residue. —Kat Merck A Sonic Toothbrush I've tested a lot of sonic electric toothbrushes, but I keep circling back to the Philips Sonicare 4100. It's gentler on gums than oscillating brushes, dead simple to use, and packed with features that matter. You get a pressure sensor, a two-minute timer, two intensity modes, and a two-week battery life. It even reminds you when it's time to change the brush head. At $40 for Prime Day (down from $50), it's the one I'd grab. An Affordable Soothing Balm I love this lip mask. It's featured in our guides of the Best TikTok Gifts and Best Lip Balms. A little goes a very long way—I've had my current jar for three years—and the formula is thick, but melts down quickly. This luscious treatment is flavored and scented, but not tinted. It's soothing on dry lips (and even cuticles in a pinch) thanks to ingredients like coconut oil and shea butter. It also doesn't get much cheaper than this. —Louryn Strampe Snail Mucin For Your Skin If you're interested in the benefits of snail mucin, the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence is a must-try. Packed with an impressive 96 percent snail secretion filtrate, this serum delivers hydration and works wonders in repairing your skin, all while being free from added fragrances. Regularly priced at $17, it's now available for nearly half off during Prime Day—an opportunity to stock up on this cult-favorite slime. A Cheaper Dyson Airwrap The T3 Aire 360 (9/10, WIRED Recommends) matches the Dyson Airwrap in power and aesthetics but at a price that feels way more justified. It comes with fewer ceramic attachments than its competitors, but with two curling barrels, a concentrator, and an oval brush, it's more than enough for a salon-worthy blowout. The rose-pink finish is adorable, and it stashes easily in a drawer. WIRED reviewer Nena Farrell's one complaint about the tool was the cost, but with this deal? No notes. An Actual Airwrap Want a real deal Dyson Airwrap? The Airwrap i.d. multi-styler is a low-heat pick in our guide to the Best Curling Irons, and it has two versions on sale in the purple colorway: Straight + Wavy and Curly + Coily. Each set has slightly different attachments (e.g., the curly set has a diffuser, while the straight and wavy set has second curler size and a flyaway tool), but both are on sale for $100 off. The Best Curling Iron for Long Hair We've dubbed the Bio Ionic Long Barrel Styler the best curling iron for (wait for it) long hair. The 8-inch ceramic barrel wraps large sections quickly and tames frizz while you style. It heats up to 430 degrees Fahrenheit, and the sculpted cool-touch grip makes styling feel ergonomic. Plus, it's dual voltage, so you can pack it for international travels. A Viral Curling Iron This curling iron went viral last year for how it easily creates both waves and perfect little ringlets. Simply clamp your hair, press the button, watch as it wraps your hair around the wand, and let it go to reveal a corkscrew curl. Try it yourself, it's half off right now.

17 Best Prime Day Board Game Deals for Kids of All Ages (2025)
With summer vacations still stretching off into the distance, taking advantage of Prime Day board game deals or snagging some discounted toys could be a very smart move. The WIRED Reviews team has a gaggle of kids of all ages between us, and most of us are still big kids at heart, so we've tried a lot of board games and toys over the years. Some of the best family board games are on sale for Prime Day. You can also find deals on some of the best STEM toys. I have handpicked a selection of WIRED-tested and -approved board games and toys right here, and I'll keep adding to this list during the Prime Days sales through July 11. It's time to stock up on fun! If you're looking for more Prime Day deals, we have a list of the very best, which we update throughout the event, and there's a Prime Day liveblog, too. Updated July 11, 2025: We've added the PlayShifu Tacto Chess game, Bill Nye's VR Chem Lab, and the PlayShifu Orboot Earth, removed to items no longer on sale, and updated prices throughout. WIRED Featured Deals The Best Board Game Deals Playing board games with family or friends is the perfect antidote to our chronically online digital lives, and many of the best family board games are on sale now. These are the best Prime Day board game deals. Originally Settlers of Catan, this immersive strategy game is all about gathering and trading resources to build roads, settlements, and cities on a randomly generated board of hexagonal tiles. To collect enough points for a victory requires the right strategy and some luck with dice rolls. My kids love the trading and the robber mechanic, which allows you to steal cards from your opponents and block their resources (though it can cause fall outs). This word association game for 2 to 8 players aged 10 and up only takes around 15 minutes to play. You must identify a number of secret agents based on a single-word clue with a time limit, but think carefully, because picking the wrong one could help your opponent or instantly lose you the game. Whether you want to play a fun game with kids or a mix of ages, this game is easy to grasp and always gets people laughing. A dice roll determines the chosen word or title from a themed card with 16 possibilities, and players must say something related. Everyone knows what it is except the Chameleon, who has to bluff their way through, then it's time to guess and try to root them out. Players must match beautiful tiles on their game boards to create mosaics and score maximum points in this satisfying strategy game. Each round, you select tiles from pools in the center, but there's room for many different tactical approaches. This accessible game seems simple but has tremendous replayability and strategic depth. Some of the best family board games are cooperative, so you can avoid those arguments that sometimes lead to board flipping and huffs and Pandemic is a solid example. There's a worldwide pandemic and you must work together for the survival of mankind by jetting around the board and trying to halt the spread. Each player assumes a role, like a scientist or medic, with unique special powers, and you must strategize and coordinate to emerge alive. OK, so it's not a board game, but my family played this French car-themed card game when I was a kid, and my own family loves it today. The original version from the 1960s (which my family had, and which I insisted on buying my family a copy of at a garage sale) has the text in both French and English, but this new set is just in English, albeit with the same rules and illustrations. I also like that it comes in a metal box for traveling—or just not falling apart, as the old cardboard boxes tended to do. Bonne chance! —Kat Merck Want your kids to learn chess? This lightweight, portable board paired with weighty pieces is an easy way to pick up the classic strategy game. Charge the Bluetooth-enabled board, connect the app, and you can play against remote players or yourself. There's also AI-enabled assistance to help guide your moves. This intriguing take on chess is part digital/part tactile, using an iPad or Amazon Fire tablet and real chess pieces to help kids (or adults) learn the game of chess from the ground up. Apart from the basics, you'll find strategies, chess puzzles, and AI players to match wits against. We advise using a larger tablet to get the pieces to work right, but otherwise this is a fun and interactive way to play that lets you learn as you go. —Ryan Waniata The Best Toy Deals We love toys at WIRED, whether they're fun and frivolous or educational, like the best STEM toys. Here are our picks from Amazon's 2025 Prime Day event. This picture book from Chronicle Books is a favorite at WIRED for its lovely images and engaging story of environmental scientist Ken Nedimeyer, whose passion for marine biology, particularly coral, led him to found the Coral Restoration Foundation. Within its pages are interesting facts about and images of nature's most beautiful underwater paradises, where our planet's vitality explodes in a cascade of underwater shapes and colors. —Ryan Waniata Everyone needs a robot buddy, am I right? This BB-8-like bot is durable and can be zipped around like an RC car, but also works with apps, games, and puzzles to let your STEM kid in waiting learn more about programming and problem solving. It even works with Lego connectors to ramp up the creativity, along with available accessories to build on later. —Ryan Waniata The Bluetooth-powered GoCube puts a new twist on an old favorite, using smart sensors within its lighted exterior that connect to an app on your phone to help you discover where blocks are positioned. It's an advanced strategy game that becomes addictive over time, and allows you to connect with other GoCubers to take on family and friends. —Ryan Waniata Kids of all ages enjoy building stuff, and these durable, colorful, translucent panels snap together magnetically in a very satisfying way. This basic 32-piece kit offers a range of triangles and squares you can use to build houses and other structures. Magna-Tiles also offers tons of themed kits for everything from spaceships to marble runs. The marriage of Lego and Star Wars was one of the greatest licensing deals of all time, spawning countless construction kits, videogames, and TV shows. There are some beautifully designed Star Wars Lego kits, and the Imperial Star Destroyer is one of our absolute favorites. This kit comes with seven minifigures, including Darth Vader, Commander Praji, and Cal Kestis. You and your kids will get hours of enjoyment out of building this and then smashing it. A fantastic gift for kids of all ages, this clever construction kit made our best STEM toys guide. Clixo's colorful, versatile, magnetic pieces snap together, so you can build three-dimensional shapes, from crowns to cats. The durable and washable pieces stack neatly and pack away easily, and you can play with them anywhere – you don't need a table. Clixo kits are suitable for kids aged 4 and up. You can build all sorts of 3D shapes from this set of glow-in-the-dark magnetic rods (crafted from recycled plastic), steel spheres, and plastic bases in different shapes. There's a guide with some suggestions, but the real fun is mucking around, and the set comes with handy storage boxes to pack everything neatly away when you're done. Bill Nye does it again with this 23-piece chemistry kit loaded with science experiments to test your chemist-to-be. The kit includes a booklet with test tubes, chemicals to play with (that won't hurt anybody, of course), as well as a cardboard VR headset that can be paired with a phone to find instructional videos from Mr. Nye himself. It's not the cleanest solution to summer doldrums, but what's a little mess to get your kid into STEM? —Ryan Waniata Geography is hard. This cool interactive globe makes it easier for kids to dig into the complications of our wild and beautiful world with a bird's-eye view. Thanks to a tablet companion app, your child can play with AR pop-ups that teach them about the different places on the globe via animals, monuments, and more. Designed for kids ages 4-10, it's a fun way to learn, even if the globe itself feels a bit on the budget side. —Ryan Waniata

13 Best Amazon Prime Day Deals on Mattresses and Bedding
Amazon's got pretty much everything, it seems—mattresses too! Here are our favorites that we've tested that are on sale. All products featured on WIRED are independently selected by our editors. However, we may receive compensation from retailers and/or from purchases of products through these links. As you may have noticed, mattress shopping holidays aren't limited to just Memorial Day, Labor Day, or even the Fourth of July anymore. Now that Amazon Prime Day is nearly a week long, it's become something of a holiday in and of itself, so it makes sense that mattresses (plus other bedding!) will be on sale too, both on Amazon and beyond. We've listed our favorite Prime Day mattress deals that someone on our staff has tested themselves and personally vouched for. If you want to know more about our favorite mattresses, we have you covered there too. Keep an eye on all the Prime Day sales going on, as we are doing lots of live coverage to keep you informed. And of course, we'll keep this list updated as deals roll in. For more on WIRED's sleep coverage, check out our guides to the Best Mattresses, Best Organic Mattresses, Best Mattress Toppers, and Best Sheets. Updated 5:28 pm July 11, 2025: We've updated prices in this story and added deals from Bear, Purple, and Coyuchi. Best Prime Day Mattress Deals When WIRED reviewer Molly Higgins tested the DreamCloud Hybrid for our Best Cheap Mattresses guide, there were some standout (or, rather, bounce house) features to the bed. Given the hybrid construction, the memory foams and coils weren't just supportive—they were very responsive. This kind of bouncy feel could be helpful for co-sleepers and combination sleepers who toss and turn a lot in their sleep. Molly also noted that while the bed's edge support was an actual letdown (meaning not the most sturdy), the policies definitely weren't. The DreamCloud Hybrid has free shipping, a yearlong sleep trial, and 'forever warranty' coverage against defects. Plus, now it's on sale! Woo-hoo! I know matcha lovers everywhere just perked up, and yes, the Zinus 12-inch green tea memory foam mattress does indeed contain green tea. The premise of this all-foam mattress is the use of green tea and charcoal infused in its memory foam layers to keep out moisture that could result in germ and odor buildup. WIRED reviewer Molly Higgins also gave this bed a go and found it to be a bit too firm for her smaller stature. However, this exact reason could be beneficial for sleepers with back pain, as well as heavier sleepers, who require a firmer surface to keep their spines happy and in alignment. Some people swear by the power of the Plank, and two of those people happen to be testers on WIRED's team. Reviewers Adrienne So and Nena Farrell have both spent time with this flippable, super-firm bed. Both find that it is the firm feel that plays a crucial role in maintaining spine support and keeping it from slipping and dipping into odd angles. The king-size version of the Plank Firm is on Prime Day special. If you're willing to leave Amazon, our favorite mattress ever is on sale right now with Helix's Dream Day Sale that, funny enough, will run the length of Prime Day. The Helix Midnight Luxe is a fantastic all-around mattress that we find ourselves always recommending, and you can shop others we love from Helix on sale, too. This mattress is crazy firm, even our achey side sleeper loved sleeping on it. WIRED reviewer Nena Farrell recommends sleeping on this mattress if you have back pain, and while she loved the firmest option for her spinal needs, other WIRED reviewers have confirmed the medium firmness is also much firmer than you'll find elsewhere. It's on sale and a great option for back support of all kinds. Birch makes a ton of organic bedding we like, from mattresses to mattress toppers, and like Helix (since they're sister sites!), it's running an onsite Dream Day Sale until the end of Prime Day. Score our favorite organic mattress from Birch's lineup, the Birch Luxe Natural, on sale during the event. Best Prime Day Bedding Deals After testing nearly 30 different pillows, our testers still can't stop raving about Coop's pillows. Our resident side sleeper pillow tester, Nena Farrell, says she always comes back to Coop's cut-out pillow when she isn't testing something new, and she's gotten this pillow for both of her parents. Score one for yourself on sale! Our favorite pillow from the Best Pillows guide comes from Purple, and it's on sale right now. The Freeform Adjustable Pillow (and the similar, but not adjustable, Purple Harmony that's also on sale) got loft and spring like no other pillows we tried thanks to the high-density memory foam and polyester fill that gives it a malleable center, and our spring panel all voted for Purple as one of their favorites they tried during the testing session. There's also a gel grid layer that wraps around the pillow to keep you cool, and felt like a quilted pillow to our testers. $105 $75 (29% off) Amazon What was once an impulse purchase has turned out to be one of the best sleep-related purchases I've made to date. These cooling bamboo sheets feel just as buttery and luxurious as some pricier brands out there that I've tried. Plus, they're on sale for Prime Day—the hard part will just be picking out what colorway you want. Lots of sheets will claim they're cooling, but WIRED reviewer Nena Farrell has found that if there isn't good breathability, no promise of phase change material technology will keep you cool. Slumber Cloud's Tencel sheets are one of the only sets she likes with both PCM technology and a breathable (yet super soft!) design that will actually keep you cool all night long. I see this thing all over TikTok, and I already know that silk has a lot of benefits for skin and hair health. If it's the same targeted ads for you, now's the time to find out for yourself if it's the pillowcase of your dreams. As for WIRED reviewer Louryn Strampe, she mentions that the silk's soft slipperiness (say that three times fast) is awesome, and the zipper keeps it from sliding right off her pillow. Cozy Earth's bamboo sheets are some of the softest bedding you'll ever try. These bamboo sheets are chilly and silky, but still have a cozy feel to them that you won't find in other sheets. They're a splurge, but right now you can use the code WIRED to get them for over $100 off on Cozy Earth's site. They're available on sale on Amazon, too. Coyuchi's sheets are seriously soft, and organic to boot. They'll be a new pick in our next update to the Best Organic Sheets, and WIRED reviewer Nena Farrell can't get enough of sleeping on the Cloud Soft Organic Sateen. While just the sateen sheets aren't on sale, the sateen bundle is, which includes a duvet cover and shams to go with the sheet set. Nena loved the undyed sheets, but you can choose from a few colors, too. Coyuchi has several other sheet sets on sale to check out if sateen isn't your weave.
