Israel: Egypt military enhanced presence in Sinai violates peace deal

Saba Yemen18-02-2025
Occupied Quds - Saba:
Strengthening the military presence in Sinai violates the peace agreement signed between Egypt and Israel after the October 1973 war, the Zionist enemy's ambassador to the United States of America said.
"Egypt is committing a very serious violation of the peace agreement in Sinai," according to what was published by the Hebrew website "Israel Hayom," describing the increase in the Egyptian military presence in Sinai and near the border as "an intolerable situation ," Yehiel Leiter added in his first comment on the matter at a conversation with the heads of Jewish organizations.
According to Leiter, who recently assumed his position, Egypt is working in Sinai to "build bases dedicated only to offensive operations," considering this to represent "serious violations of the agreement between the two sides."
He stressed that this issue has been kept secret for a long time and that the Zionist entity "intends to raise this issue as soon as possible and with all determination."
The Hebrew news website "nziv" published a report under the title "Urgent preparation is required to confront the Egyptian military threat," stressing that the usurping entity must prepare for the possibility of another war with Egypt.
The report explained that the parties concerned with the security and military apparatuses in the usurping entity must reach satisfactory answers and appropriate solutions to urgent questions about: the size of the Egyptian forces currently available for war with the Zionist entity, how much time Egypt needs to reach full recruitment and what are its capabilities? And how can the Zionist occupation army prepare for effective defense in advance against the threat within a realistic time frame?

UAE launches water pipeline project to supply Gaza

The United Arab Emirates has initiated the construction of a critical water pipeline linking an Egyptian desalination plant to the coastal area of Al-Mawasi in southern Gaza. The project, approved by Israel's defense establishment and carried out with logistical coordination across borders, marks a significant humanitarian effort to alleviate the water crisis affecting nearly 600,000 Palestinians in the war-torn enclave. The pipeline, which will operate independently of existing Israeli water infrastructure, is designed to deliver potable water directly from Egypt into Gaza. It is being developed under the supervision of the Israeli military's Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) and was greenlit by the Israeli political echelon as a non-political, humanitarian measure. On Sunday, the first batch of construction materials, delivered by Emirati representatives, crossed the Kerem Shalom border crossing following stringent security inspections by Israel's Border Authority and Ministry of Defense. Construction is expected to begin in the coming days and will span several weeks. "This is a purely humanitarian measure, taken within the framework of cabinet decisions," said Israeli officials, emphasizing that the project does not signal a move toward rebuilding Gaza or any shift in political posture. "The connection of the pipeline does not constitute a step towards the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip," they added, aiming to quash speculation of normalization or broader reconciliation. The move comes amid a temporary humanitarian truce announced by Israel over the weekend. In parallel, Israeli authorities authorized workers from the Israel Electric Corporation to reconnect a key power line from the Ashkelon power station to Deir al-Balah. This line supports the Egyptian desalination plant already contributing to Gaza's water supply.

Fatah Intifada: Kfar Yona Operation swift response to Knesset's WB decision

Ramallah – Saba: Fatah Intifada movement in Palestine has confirmed that the ramming attack carried out on Thursday near the Kfar Yona settlement, west of Tulkarm in occupied Palestine, was a swift and direct response by the Palestinian resistance. It said the operation came in reaction to the Israeli Knesset's decision to impose sovereignty over the occupied West Bank and Jordan Valley. In a statement, the movement praised the heroic operation, describing it as a natural and justified reaction to the ongoing crimes committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people. The movement reaffirmed that resistance operations and armed struggle will persist as long as the occupation remains on Palestinian land. 'This operation underscores that the path chosen by our people is that of resistance and armed struggle,' the statement read. 'It is a fiery message to the Zionist enemy that the resistance and revolutionary youth will dismantle all fortifications and measures imposed on our people across all of Palestine,' the statement concluded.
