Upcoming phone launches in July 2025: OnePlus Nord 5 series, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and more

If you are looking to buy a new phone, it might be wise to wait a few more days, as July is shaping up to be a month full of smartphone launches. While OnePlus and Samsung will be the two brands taking the spotlight, there are also a number of smaller but important launches that could offer multiple options for those looking for a new phone on a budget. Here's a look at the top upcoming phone launches in July 2025. OnePlus is all set to launch its latest entrants in the Nord series—the Nord 5 and Nord CE 5—at the Summer Launch Event on 8 July. The new phones will also be followed by the OnePlus Buds 4, the successor to last year's OnePlus Buds 3 launched alongside the OnePlus 12. The OnePlus Nord 5 is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, while the Nord CE 5 will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate processor, previously seen in the Infinix GT 30 Pro and Motorola Edge 60 Pro. Samsung has confirmed that it will hold its next Galaxy Unpacked event on 8 July. While the company hasn't officially revealed the devices it will launch, it is all but certain to unveil the new Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold lineup. Apart from the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, Samsung is also reported to be launching the Galaxy Z Flip FE and the Galaxy Watch 8 series at the event. A new Galaxy Buds lineup could also make its debut, along with potential hints about Samsung's latest One UI 8 update. Madhav Sheth-led smartphone brand AI+ will launch its first set of devices on 8 July. The first two models from the company, called Pulse and Nova 5G, will also be available on Flipkart and Shopsy. According to a dedicated Flipkart microsite for the Nova 5G, the phone will feature a 50MP primary camera and come in five colour variants. It will pack a 5,000mAh battery and support up to 1TB of expandable storage via microSD card. Tecno Pova 7 will debut in India on 4 July. The new phone will feature customisable lights around the camera module, which Tecno calls the Delta Light interface. If it follows its global counterpart, it could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate processor, feature a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, and come with a 6,000mAh battery and 70W wired fast charging. Honor has confirmed it will soon launch a new smartphone in India, the Honor X9c, which will be an Amazon exclusive. While there is no confirmed launch date yet, the phone is likely to debut in July. The Honor X9c is expected to feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4,000 nits of peak brightness. It is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 specs leak ahead of July 9 Unpacked Event: Here's what to expect

Samsung's next Galaxy Unpacked event is set for 9 July, and the company is expected to unveil its latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. A new leak has revealed alleged specifications for both devices, pointing to slimmer designs and upgraded displays. According to details shared by tipster Setsuna Digital via Weibo, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 could feature an 8-inch internal display paired with a 6.5-inch external screen. The device is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. Design-wise, it may incorporate an aluminium frame and a glass ceramic back panel. It is tipped to measure 8.9mm in thickness when folded and just 4.2mm when open, weighing around 215 grams. This would make it significantly thinner and lighter than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which comes in at 12.1mm folded and 239g. The Fold 7 is also said to include a 10MP selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view. Moreover, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also expected to receive several upgrades. It may come with a 4.1-inch cover display and a 6.9-inch internal screen, both offering a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 2,600 nits peak brightness. This could mark a notable step up from the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which features a 3.4-inch outer screen and 6.7-inch main display. Battery capacity could also see an improvement, with the Z Flip 7 rumoured to house a 4,300mAh unit, up from the 4,000mAh battery found in the previous generation. The new model is tipped to measure 13.7mm when closed and 6.5mm when open, and weigh 188g, offering a sleeker profile than its predecessor. In addition to the new foldables, the 9 July event is also expected to include the launch of updated Galaxy smartwatches and earphones. Pre-reservations for the upcoming devices have already opened in India.

Rural FMCG volume grew thrice urban volume growth in Q4FY25, similar trend likely to continue: Report

New Delhi [India], June 30 (ANI): Driven by increased distribution of freebies and a positive sentiment from good monsoon, rural market in India's fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector continues to outperform urban areas, according to a recent report by Nuvama Institutional Equities. The report stated that rural markets continued to outpace urban areas in the overall FMCG sector. It noted that rural demand is already doing well and remains strong, while urban markets are facing pressure and are likely to stay under strain until the first half of FY26. However, urban demand is expected to start improving from the second half of FY26, the report stated. In terms of volume growth, rural regions have shown remarkable performance. For the fourth consecutive quarter, rural areas have grown more than twice as fast as urban regions. In Q4FY25, rural FMCG volumes grew by 8.4 per cent, while urban volume growth stood at 2.6 per cent, it said. The report also highlighted that the FMCG sector volumes in Q4FY25 saw rural growth being three times higher than urban areas. Initial data for Q1FY26 suggests a similar trend is likely to continue. Overall, the consumer sector grew 11 per cent year-on-year (YoY) by value in Q4FY25, compared to 10.6 per cent YoY in Q3FY25. Pricing growth was reported at 5.6 per cent, while overall volumes expanded by 5.1 per cent YoY, a slight decline from the 7.1 per cent YoY growth recorded in Q3FY25. Despite the positive performance in rural markets, the FMCG sector saw a significant selloff by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in the first half of June 2025. According to the report, FMCG recorded the highest outflows of Rs 36.3 billion, after receiving net inflows worth Rs 8.2 billion in May. Until May, the sector witnessed sales worth over Rs 140 billion. The report added that FPIs showed a strong inclination towards rate-sensitive and beta plays, contributing to the withdrawal from FMCG stocks. (ANI)
