The team behind HO LEE FOOK, based on Mcfarlane Street across from the Barras, has announced they are 'expecting' a new project.
They'll be taking over the shop previously owned by brunch spot Scran at 239 London Road.
Ho Lee Fook means good, wealth, and luck in Cantonese and the stall's menu, with highlights including haggis infused spring rolls, has queus forming around the corner.
Now, they'll be opening up a restaurant in the space already loved by brunch munchers.
Announcing the news on social media, they said: "HOLEEFOOK!! Is EXPECTING!!!
INTRODUCING… FOOK MEI @fookmeiglasgow.
"(I clearly need introduced to an iron).
"Follow our journey turning the epic @scrangla into a Noodz or Sando Bar. TBC."
Fans flocked to their post to share their excitement, one said: "This is news I needed today, holy hell, I'll never be out of there."
Another gushed: "OMG! Congrats Lee and Johnny! Amazing news!"
A third added: "YES MATE!!! Absolutely buzzing at this news!! Here we gooo!!!"
While a few fans wanted to ensure their stall would remain open, they said, "YES!! Are you still going to have the shack?"
HO LEE FOOK opened in 2023 and is run by Johnny and Lee. They were born in Scotland to Hong Kong parents and grew up as "takeaway kids," helping out in their families' shops.
The Glasgow Times reported when the previous London Road shop owners, Scran, announced their 'exciting new plans'.
At the beginning of this month, we reported that Scran will close its restaurant on London Road on Sunday, June 15, while a new eatery called Scran and Roadie will open at 180 Saltmarket on Saturday, June 21.
Announcing the change on Instagram, owner Chris Mearns wrote: "It's almost time to pull the shutters down on our wee cafe for the final time.
"Our last day will be Sunday 15th so you've still got two weeks to get your London Road Scran in.
"It's bittersweet, we've had loads of fun and made so many friends here over the last two years, but it's time to get serious and take things to a whole new level."

South Korea national security adviser travels to Washington ahead of tariff deadline

SEOUL, July 20 (Reuters) - South Korea's national security adviser has headed to Washington, authorities said on Sunday, with less than two weeks to go until U.S. President Donald Trump's Aug. 1 deadline to secure a trade deal or face steep tariffs. Wi Sung-lac's trip comes just two weeks after his last visit to Washington for talks on tariffs and security. After Trump's announcement, South Korea said it planned to intensify trade talks. There were no immediate details on who he was planning to meet. Presidential aide Woo Sang-ho told journalists Wi would engage in negotiations on various issues, without elaborating. Earlier this month, Trump said he planned to impose a 25% tariff on South Korea from August 1, posing the first major test for South Korea's President Lee Jae Myung since he came to office barely a month ago. On his last trip to Washington, Wi said he had met U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and proposed including security and investments in trade negotiations. Wi also proposed an early summit between the leaders of the two countries, according to media reports.

00s pop icon reveals how crystal meth addiction 'almost killed' him

S Club 7's Jon Lee has opened up about his past struggles with drugs and how crystal meth 'almost killed' him. The pop star rose to prominence in 1998 when the band was formed by ex-Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller, also comprising Tina Barrett, Paul Cattermole, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Hannah Spearritt, and Rachel Stevens. Lee rejoined the pop group for smaller reunions in the 2010s, including the 2023 arena tour, which took place without Spearritt, who left when Cattermole died of heart failure. In a new interview, the 43-year-old singer has admitted he once spent £250 per week on crystal meth, a habit that began long after S Club's heyday. It also led to him being sectioned in 2019. 'I didn't even recognise myself at that time,' he recalled. 'Sometimes, in the midst of one of the psychotic episodes where I'd be smashing my flat up with a hammer, I'd catch sight of myself in the mirror and say, 'What the f**k?'' Crystal meth, a highly addictive recreational and performance-enhancing drug, can boost energy levels and confidence in the short term, but its longer-term health impacts can be devastating, such as serious depression, anxiety, memory loss, aggression, and hallucinations. On how it took over his life, Lee reflected to MailOnline: 'I'd have a moment of lucidity, thinking, 'I was a successful young man; I had a brilliant career, incredible life. What am I doing?'' There were points when he found himself with 'holes in the walls around [him]' and 'cuts all over [his] knuckles', as well as a 'swollen eye' from punching himself in the head. Lee would sleep with a hammer underneath his bed, once breaking down his bathroom door out of paranoia after hallucinations convinced him there were other people in his apartment. 'I didn't look anything like Jon from S Club, or what people would expect Jon from S Club to look like,' he admitted, having also shaved his head in his thirties. His addiction struggles came to a head when concerned neighbours called police, after which the Reach hitmaker was sectioned, having been transported to a clinic via ambulance. Acknowledging that he was a 'danger to [himself]', he said someone would sit outside his room, and he had to leave the door open. Lee, who also took the party drug GHB, which is a type of liquid ecstasy, now has immense 'regret' for what his family went through during that period. 'I'm not sure how I'm still here,' he stated, having previously taken four times the dose in his darkest moments with the intention of not waking up the next day. He also used hard drugs as a distraction from his grief after his dad's death from Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in 2014. While once unable to leave his flat for days on end, Lee went travelling three years ago to find himself. In India, he met a rescue dog, which he claims gave him a new purpose, resulting in him returning to the UK in 2022 with three rescues of his own. Lee moved to Cornwall, living next door to his mum and sister. Career-wise, Lee is set to appear on the next series of Celebs Go Dating. And it's believed Lee found the love he was looking for in the pre-recorded E4 series, as he's now said to be dating Jordan Fairhurst. More Trending The performer, who came out publicly as gay in 2010, is said to have felt sparks fly 'instantly' upon meeting his new boyfriend under the dating agency. 'There was a real connection there from the get-go, and things developed really quickly,' a source told The Sun. 'They have been on a few dates on the show, but now they are official and in a full-blown relationship.' 'Jon never expected to find something serious on the show, but Jordan really took him by surprise,' added the insider. 'Fans will see how the relationship develops on the show, but it's one of the love stories of the series. It's all very sweet.' Celebrate 50 years of A Chorus Line with Annette Bening, Ariana DeBose and more

Several singular sensations have now been announced to be part of the upcoming one-night-only benefit concert celebrating 50 years of A Chorus Line. Sunday, July 27 will see the landmark musical return to its Broadway home, the Shubert Theater, to raise money for the Entertainment Community Fund, exactly five decades (and two days) after it opened in 1975. The Fund's Board Chair Annette Bening, season highlights Jennifer Simard (Death Becomes Her) and Mandy Gonzalez (Sunset Boulevard), and Gilmore Girls ' Lauren Graham are among the latest names to have just joined the lineup, along with triple-threat talents Ariana DeBose and Bebe Neuwirth. Whether those last two will get the chance to show off their award-winning dancing chops remains to be seen, as their involvement—and most details surrounding the concert—has not been specified. The glitzy event will be directed by Baayork Lee, an original cast member from the Pulitzer winner's off-Broadway debut at the Public Theater a few months before its instant success skyrocketed it uptown. Lee has overseen virtually every major production since, preserving Michael Bennett's original vision, and his and Bob Avian's choreography. She'll replicate their work here as well. Its storied history has allowed several major talents to share its story, many of whom will also participate in the concert, including Donna McKechnie and Kelly Bishop—who won acting Tonys for their work in the original production—and their former castmates Priscilla Lopez, Wayne Cilento and Lee. They'll share the stage with alumni from other productions, an embarrassment of riches that includes Tony Yazbeck, Charlotte d'Amboise, Krysta Rodriguez, Jessica Vosk and 2025 Tony winner Francis Jue (Yellow Face).Tickets to this special evening at the Shubert (which is currently occupied by Hell's Kitchen) are available here; front-row tickets and an invite to the after-party are up for auction at A Chorus Line shattered the boundaries of what musicals could be, and how they could feel. Inspired by hours' worth of interviews with Broadway dancers, it presents soul-baring glimpses into the hardships and glories of these undervalued dreamers. With music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban, and a book by James Kirkwood Jr. and Nicholas Dante, it won nine of its twelve Tony nominations, and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. When its 15-year run ended in 1990, it held the title of the longest-running Broadway production until Cats surpassed it in 1997; it is still the seventh longest running in history.
