Expert names key areas for further cooperation among BRICS and BRICS+ states
The economic and investment potential of the BRICS and BRICS+ frameworks lies in their scale, diversity, and shared ambition to shape a new global economic order. This was stated by Walid Farghal, Director General of the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Congress), in an exclusive interview at the TV BRICS studio in the Roscongress International Cooperation Area at St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025.
'The BRICS and the BRICS+ represent a global segment in economy. Through their combined population – more than 3 billion people – they surpassed their presence as emerging countries to be a group contributing to the global economy and having their own power in terms of economic impact on their populations as well as for neighbouring countries and for all member countries of BRICS,' he said.
Farghal emphasised several areas of high potential for further collaboration: 'The areas of cooperation of the BRICS and the BRICS+ countries can be in the green investment, environmental investment, and the climate change. It can be also in the digital economy, the FinTech solutions, logistics, and the transport.'
He noted that development in these sectors would be mutually beneficial: 'It plays a key role in all the BRICS countries to contribute to each other through their own resources, their own manufacturing requirements.'
The Director General of AIM Congress also stressed the importance of inclusive growth and support for small and medium-sized businesses.
He concluded by calling for a joint effort to reduce barriers to trade and investment: 'It is very important to develop easy policies from all the governments of BRICS, which will facilitate more investment and trade flows in these countries.'

Egypt to Host New Turkish Porcelain Factory in Alexandria
H-Tayea The Turkish company Kar's Bonna Porcelain has announced a major investment in Egypt, with plans to establish a 100 million US dollar production facility in the Burg Al Arab area of Alexandria. The company is moving swiftly to begin operations as soon as possible. Bonna, one of the most prominent names in Turkey's porcelain manufacturing sector, brings with it a reputation for excellence in design, quality, and industrial scale. This investment marks a significant step forward in strengthening Egypt's position in the global ceramics and porcelain market. Once operational, the facility is expected to become a key player in both regional and international porcelain supply chains. According to the company's strategic plan, 90 percent of the plant's production will be dedicated to export markets, while the remaining 10 percent will be directed toward the domestic Egyptian market. This export-driven model aligns well with Egypt's broader economic goals to increase industrial output and boost foreign currency inflows through manufacturing. I am confident that Egyptian authorities will provide Bonna with the support and facilitation needed to bring this project to life. Egypt has continued to position itself as a destination for international investors looking for industrial strength, export connectivity, and market access across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. During a recent conversation with Erbil Aşkan, General Manager of Bonna Porcelain, I was briefed on the progress being made at the site. The discussions reflected the company's serious commitment to delivering a high-quality, high-capacity production facility in record time. I also had the opportunity to share thoughts on how this investment could contribute to broader goals, including job creation, technology transfer, and strengthening economic ties between Egypt and Turkey read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks

Thursday, July 24, Declared Paid Holiday for Private Sector Employees
H-Tayea On Saturday, the Ministry of Labor has officially declared Thursday, July 24, 2025, a fully paid public holiday for all employees in the private sector, in observance of the anniversary of the July 23 Revolution. The decision was issued in Circular No. 15 of 2025, following Labor Law No. 12 of 2003. Although the national holiday traditionally falls on Wednesday, July 23, this year's observance has been shifted to Thursday in line with a Cabinet directive aimed at unifying public holidays across various sectors. This shift is part of a broader government policy to align holidays in a way that supports social and national objectives and ensures consistency across public and private institutions. The Ministry clarified that this holiday applies to all workers governed by the Labor Law and ensures full paid leave. Employers who require employees to work on that day due to business needs are legally obliged to provide double pay in addition to the regular wage, as stipulated by Article 52 of the law. The directive was issued following Cabinet Decree No. 2474 of 2025, which designated Thursday, July 24, as the official replacement for the July 23 public holiday. This move aims to provide a longer weekend for workers and improve alignment of holiday observance across Egypt's workforce. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language
