Manchester United make improved bid worth up to £70million for Bryan Mbeumo

United followed that up with an improved proposal exceeding £60m a few weeks later but talks stalled as Brentford held on for a greater fee for Mbeumo.

The Old Trafford club have now made a new offer that PA understands to be worth £65m plus an additional £5m in potential add-ons as they attempt to sign the player before their pre-season tour.
Amorim's men head to the United States on Tuesday and have so far only signed Brazil international Matheus Cunha from Wolves for a fee of £62.5m.
Mbeumo joined Brentford from Troyes in 2019 and has a year left on his deal, albeit there is an option to extend by a further year.
Tottenham, managed by former Bees boss Thomas Frank, have shown interest but the Cameroon international is understood to have expressed a desire to move to Old Trafford.
United are looking to rebuild after slumping home 15th last season and losing the Europa League final to Tottenham, meaning they missed out on Champions League qualification and European football entirely.
Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia are searching for new homes.
Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof have left on free transfers, while Jonny Evans has retired.

Man Utd transfer news: Fresh problem in Bryan Mbeumo pursuit as Juventus eye double move

Manchester United continue to pursue Bryan Mbeumo but the change of manager at Brentford has impacted the deal whilst Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho's exits remain on the cards Manchester United's summer has somewhat ground to a halt despite there being plenty bubbling away in the background. The club have only made one summer signing whilst a number of their big names still remain. ‌ The Red Devils hope to add Bryan Mbeumo, who they have been chasing for weeks, and want him to compliment Matheus Cunha in their attack. The Brazilian remains the only new face as Ruben Amorim desperately seeks to improve his attack. ‌ A host of top earners, some signed for huge fees, also remain at Old Trafford despite having hugely uncertain futures. Marcus Rashford is currently training solo as he seeks a new permanent home with Barcelona his ideal destination. ‌ Jadon Sancho too is in the dark whilst Antony has returned from his loan stint away. Alejandro Garnacho could be another player the club cash in on as we sum up the latest transfer rumours from Manchester. Brentford appointment hampers Mbeumo deal United felt they were making forward strides as they looked to signing Mbeumo - but that was before Brentford confirmed the appointment of Keith Andrews, with the announcement throwing a spanner in the works with progress now stalling. The Red Devils have seen several bids for the Cameroon forward rejected, the last being £60m. The two parties remain millions apart in their respective figures and the change in the dugout has not helped. Andrews is another internal hire at Brentford, replacing Thomas Frank. The new Tottenham boss was thought to be keen on Mbeumo, but the north Londoners now look to have gone in a different direction. ‌ It leaves United with a free shot at the Brentford star, who himself wants the move, but they have struggled to agree on a fee. The MEN also understands that Andrews' arrival as the new head coach has further complicated matters with the Irishman wanting to keep his top players. Juve join Rashford race Juventus are looking to sign Rashford and end his Manchester exile. Barcelona have long been the favourites to sign Rashford after Aston Villa decided not to take up their option to buy at the end of his loan spell. But the La Liga champions are yet to make a move. ‌ That's left the door open for Juventus, who Sky Sport Italia report are exploring a deal as they look to reshape their attack this summer. They have put strikers Dusan Vlahovic and Arkadiusz Milik up for sale. Rashford isn't the only United player who the Serie A giants have been linked with either. Juventus have been in talks over a move for Sancho, who also spent last season out on loan, winning the Conference League with Chelsea. ‌ Antony's suitors Several teams across the Premier League and in Europe are showing an interest in United forward Antony, who faces a decision on this future this summer after enjoying a return to form in Spain. He excelled whilst on loan at Real Betis despite flopping in Manchester. He cost more than £80m when he joined in 2022 and the expectation is he will be sold. According to Brazilian news outlet UOL the Red Devils are demanding around £50m for the winger. They claim that RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Brighton and Newcastle have all inquired about a potential move.
