Honor has confirmed that its new phone, the Honor X9C, will launch in India on 7 July as an Amazon exclusive. Ahead of the debut, the company has revealed several key specifications of the device, including its colour variants, processor, storage options, display and camera details.
Honor X9C will feature a 6.78-inch 1.5K curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3840Hz PWM dimming. The device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, which has previously featured on the Oppo F29 and Realme P1 Pro.
The X9C will be available in an 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant, although it is unclear whether additional variants will be offered. Running MagicOS 9 based on Android 15, the phone will also bring a range of AI-powered features to the new skin.
The device will pack a 6,600mAh silicon carbon battery with support for 66W fast charging and will be available in two colour options: Titanium Black and Jade Cyan.
For optics, the X9C will come with a 108MP primary camera with OIS and EIS. While the company has not detailed the additional camera sensors, the device's global counterpart suggests it could include a 5MP ultra-wide lens and a 16MP front-facing camera.
The phone is expected to feature an IP65 rating for water and dust resistance, allowing it to withstand splashes and light rain but not full submersion in water.
The Honor X9C will have a thickness of 7.98mm and is expected to weigh under 200 grams.
Much like its prececessor, Honor is making a number of tall durability related claims with the X9C, including stating that the device should be able to handle up to 2 metres of drops.
Honor says the new phone will go on sale in India on 12 July on Amazon.

E-commerce sales in Tier-3 cities surge 21% YoY

With ecommerce firms such as Flipkart and Amazon gearing up for their sales, tier-2 and tier-3 cities have emerged as key growth drivers outpacing that of metros. E-commerce and retail enablement SaaS platform Unicommerce in its summer online sale trends in 2025 reveals that tier-3 cities drove a 21% YoY growth during the 2025 summer sales as they contributor to the overall 8% increase in ecommerce order volumes. While the sales kicked off in early May this year, the summer season saw a continued run of sale events, drawing consumers with attractive deals across categories including electronics, apparel, fashion and footwear, beauty and home decor, it said. Amazon India has announced its Prime Day 2025 deals, exclusively for Prime members. Starting from 12:00 AM on July 12 to 11:59 PM on July 14, it said Prime Day brings savings across categories including smartphones, consumer electronics, TVs and appliances, among others. "The summer season has become an interesting time of year, as brands and ecommerce platforms concentrate their efforts on driving sales through themed campaigns, early-bird offers, and category-specific promotions," said Kapil Makhija, MD & CEO of Unicommerce. He added that consumers in tier-2 and tier-3 cities are increasingly embracing online channels for lifestyle upgrades like smart electronics, stylish home décor, and wellness products - categories once dominated by metro buyers. "This interesting trend highlights the deepening of India's ecommerce sector,' he added.

Bad news for employees of this company as it changes appraisal system, only 5% will get…, not Mukesh Ambani's Reliance, Narayana Murthy's Infosys, TCS, name is…

Amazon is marking a major shift in how companies assess corporate workforce performance. The new three-tiered system with the company's 16 core values will determine everything from salary increases to potential performance improvement plans during quarterly reviews, reported TOI. Amazon's New Appraisal System From this quarter's mid-year review cycle, Amazon managers will evaluate employees as per three criteria like Leadership Principles adherence, performance, and potential. These factors combined will be used for Overall Value score that will decide employees career progression and compensation decisions. Amazon Employees On Role Model Status The initiatives are taken after CEO Andy Jassy's created a disciplined workforce and improved corporate culture. Since last year, Jassy has started full work from office policy, reduced management layers, and revised compensation models to reward top performers. According to internal documents as per Business Insider report, only 5% of employees will qualify for the top 'role model' grade while Leadership Principles behavior will be measured. The company's spokesperson Sam Stephenson said these changes 'streamline the process for managers and help to ensure greater consistency.' Amazon Stack-ranking System Amazon maintains its stack-ranking culture, where managers categorize employees into five performance tiers as per predetermined percentages. Teams with over 50 employees must place 20% in the top tier, while 5% will be designated as 'Least Effective'. This system gained criticism as it gives managers authority to rank capable employees poorly to meet this distribution requirements. But other tech giants like Microsoft, Google, and Meta also have stricter performance management policies this year.
