Oilers' Zach Hyman leaves Game 4 after hit from Stars' Mason Marchment

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Oilers winger Zach Hyman suffered an upper-body injury against the Stars in Game 4 of the NHL's Western Conference final on Tuesday night.
Hyman took a glancing hit from Dallas forward Mason Marchment in the first period and dropped his stick, favoring his right arm, before heading straight down the tunnel to Edmonton's locker room.

The 32-year-old Hyman, who scored twice in Game 3, didn't join his teammates to start the second period. He led the postseason with 109 hits — 27 more than Florida Panthers center Sam Bennett in the No. 2 spot — to go along with five goals and six assists entering play.
A staple on superstar center Connor McDavid's line, the Toronto native had 27 goals and 17 assists across 73 games in the regular season.
Edmonton was also minus winger Connor Brown on Tuesday after he took a big hit in Game 3. Oilers defenseman Mattias Ekholm, who hasn't played in the playoffs due to a lower-body injury, is nearing a return, but didn't dress Tuesday.

After screwworm scare, US-Mexico border set to reopen for cattle imports
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico and the United States said they would gradually reopen the United States border to cattle imports from Mexico in July after U.S. agriculture officials suspended them in May over fears of the northward spread of the screwworm, agriculture officials in both countries said Monday. U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said via X that 'key progress' had been made. She noted that more than 100 million sterile flies were being dispersed weekly and there had been no northward spread in eight weeks. The U.S. restricted Mexican cattle shipments in late November following the detection of the pest, but lifted the ban in February after protocols were put in place to evaluate the animals prior to entry into the country. But after an 'unacceptable northward advancement' of the screwworm, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said in a statement it was suspending them again in May. Mexico Agriculture and Rural Development Secretary Julio Berdegué said he participated in a virtual meeting with Rollins Monday and that the border opening would begin July 7. Rollins and Berdegué applauded the close cooperation between both governments. The screwworm is a larva of the Cochliomyia hominivorax fly that can invade the tissues of any warm-blooded animal, including humans. The parasite enters the skin, causing serious and life-threatening damage and lesions.

Wheeler strikes out 10 in 8 innings to lead Phillies past Padres 4-0
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Zack Wheeler struck out 10 in eight innings, Nick Castellanos homered and the Philadelphia Phillies won in Bryce Harper's return to the lineup, 4-0 over the San Diego Padres on Monday night. Harper was hit by a pitch on the left foot, walked and lined into an unassisted double play as part of a 0-for-2 night in his first game since June 5. Harper returned from a nearly month-long layoff with right wrist inflammation to start at first base and bat third. Wheeler (8-3) tossed six-hit ball and did not walk a batter in another sterling outing for the NL East leaders. Padres center fielder Jackson Merrill did his part to keep the game from getting totally out of hand in the third when he reached well over the wall in straightaway center and robbed Max Kepler of a three-run homer. The rest of the game was all Philadelphia. If Merrill made the play of game, Bryson Stott was right him behind for the Phillies. After he walked and stole second base, Stott hustled home on Brandon Marsh's grounder to first and scored on a head-first slide for a 2-0 lead. Marsh scored on Trea Turner's infield single to make it 3-0. Castellanos' solo shot off Padres starter Matt Waldron in the fifth made it 4-0. Waldron (0-1) made his season debut after the knuckleballer spent all season on the injured list with left oblique strain. He walked six in 4 2/3 innings. Key moment With runners on first and second and one out in the fifth, Wheeler got pinch-hitter Trenton Brooks to line into a double play. Brooks hit one to Stott at second base and he flipped the ball to Turner at the bag to complete the inning-ending play. Key stat Wheeler allowed a total of two earned runs in five June starts.
