Keely Hodgkinson to compete at Alexis Ohanian's Athlos NYC meet in October
Hodgkinson has been recovering from a hamstring issue, and recently withdrew from Saturday's London Diamond League meet – the second delayed start to her season – but her team said the 23-year-old still aims to arrive in Japan in 'peak form'.

'Athlos NYC represents everything I love about our sport: unity, passion, and the pursuit of greatness,' Hodgkinson said. 'I can't wait to line up alongside some of the best in the world to cap off the season.'
Athlos' inaugural edition paid out more than USD 600,000 – the largest-ever purse for a women's track event – with winners taking home USD 60,000 (£44,603), and also featured a give-back initiative in which 10 per cent of ticketing, commercial sponsorship and broadcast revenues were re-distributed to participating athletes.
Last year's event had a purposeful festival feel, featuring a performance from rapper and songwriter Megan Thee Stallion. Unlike the track-only inaugural competition, Athlos' second iteration will also include a field event, long jump, headlined by American Olympic champion Tara Davis-Woodhall.
British 400m record holder Amber Anning, who collected a pair of relay bronzes at the Paris 2024 Olympics and the individual world 400m indoors title in March, has also signed up.

In 2026, Athlos plans to shift from an individual-centred event to a team-based league format.
Ohanian, who is married to 23-time tennis grand slam singles champion Serena Williams, announced in May that he had bought a stake in Women's Super League side Chelsea – reportedly 10 per cent and worth around £20million.
He has also joined the board of the club, telling the BBC he thinks Chelsea's 'queens of global soccer' could become a 'billion-dollar franchise'.
He wrote on X: 'I've bet big on women's sports before – and I'm doing it again.'

Arsenal transfer news: Viktor Gyokeres negotiations update as fifth summer signing leaked
Arsenal will soon add Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera to their list of summer signings after completing a £52million deal for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke Arsenal have now made four signings in the summer transfer window but are showing no signs of slowing down yet. The Gunners completed the capture of Noni Madueke from Chelsea on Friday afternoon. The England winger has signed for £52million – £48m up front, with a further £4m due in add-ons – and has penned a five-year contract. Madueke's arrival followed those of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard. And two more deals are expected to be completed soon, with Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera next on the production line at the Emirates Stadium. Sporting issued threat The Gyokeres saga has rolled on and on this summer, but we are finally approaching the end. The Swedish striker has moved his things out of his house in Lisbon and is close to getting his wish. Negotiations are now just centered around the make up of the add-ons and payment structure. And Sporting are being given the hurry-up by Almeria over the purchase of his replacement. The Portuguese club have identified Luis Suarez (not that one) as Gyokeres' replacement, but have been slow in making their move. 'We haven't had any official contact with Sporting to date,' Almeria president Joao Goncalves said. 'We haven't received any formal or informal contact, but we have with other clubs, and we're moving forward with negotiations with other clubs. We're managing our timing. 'Fair value? He has a €40million release clause. To paraphrase (Sporting president) Frederico Varandas – we're not asking for the value of the clause, but we're going to defend our interests.' Mosquera arrival leaked Clubs are very particular about how they announce signings, needing all of their ducks in a row before doing so. But an awkward error at the Gunners has denied them the chance to do so with Mosquera. A picture of Mosquera in an Arsenal kit was accidentally uploaded to Getty Images on Friday. It was swiftly deleted, but has stolen their thunder. The Spanish centre-back is joining for £13m plus add-ons and will be announced before Gyokeres. Mosquera has already spoken of his exit from Valencia, saying: "[I am] a little sad because [I have] been here [my] whole life, but decisions in football are like that. Now a new era begins." Arteta's Madueke win Madueke has become the latest Chelsea player to join Arsenal, making the move despite the growing unrest about the club's reliance on their London rivals. It is a major win for Arteta, who has been keen on the 23-year-old winger for some time. It has now emerged that Arteta has been pushing for Arsenal to sign him for some time, having first tried when he was playing for PSV Eindhoven. However, it never happened because former sporting director Edu was not on board, due to reservations over the player. He made his first-team debut for Malmo in 2023 and On 1 December last year he scored a hat-trick in a 5–2 win over Torslanda IK in the second round of the Swedish Cup. In June 2002, Eidur was signed by the Blues for £4.5 million and was the second striker signed that pre-season after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
