Benintendi, Sosa each hit a HR as White Sox beat Angels 6-3
White Sox starter Shane Smith gave up two runs and two hits while striking out four over 4 1/3 innings in his first start since July 11 following a stint on the 15-day IL. Jordan Leasure (4-6) earned the win in relief, striking out four in 1 2/3 innings.
Benintendi and Sosa each hit solo home runs in the second inning off Angels starter Tyler Anderson (2-7), and Luis Robert Jr. had a sacrifice fly drove Miguel Vargas home in the fourth inning to make it 3-0.
Gustavo Campero's second home run of the year, a two-run blast to deep center field in the fifth, got the Angels within one, but Colson Montgomery answered with a deep homer of his own in the sixth inning.
Logan O'Hoppe scored on Zach Neto's sacrifice fly to bring the Angels within one again, and Nolan Schanuel appeared to drive in Travis D'Arnaud with a two-out single, but Campero was thrown out at third prior to D'Arnaud crossing the plate.
Sosa had an RBI single in the eighth and Josh Rojas added a solo homer in the ninth.
Steven Wilson got the last six outs for his second save of the year.

Campero's baserunning error prevented the game-tying run from scoring in the seventh, ending what was a bases-loaded, one-out threat for the Angels.

Ademola Lookman requests transfer from Atalanta citing broken promises and poor treatment
BERGAMO, Italy (AP) — Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has handed the club a formal transfer request, the player said Sunday. Lookman made the announcement with a statement posted on Instagram. The 27-year-old said the request was made 'after many months of broken promises and what I feel has been poor treatment towards me as both a human being and as a professional footballer. 'Sadly I feel I have no choice but to speak out for what I believe is right and I feel that enough is enough,' he said. He said in the statement that it had already been decided that it was the 'right time' for him 'to move on and experience a new adventure.' He said he and the club ownership had been 'in agreement' that now was the right time for a transfer, and that the club agreed to let him leave if a fair offer was made. He said an offer did arrive but now the club was not sticking to its end of the agreement. 'Despite now receiving an offer in alignment to what I believe had been discussed, sadly the club are blocking the opportunity for reasons I do not understand,' he said. New-look Twins seek to halt skid in finale vs. Guardians

Two games and two losses into the new era, they remain undaunted by the challenge. Minnesota right-hander Jose Urena (0-0, 5.40 ERA) will take the mound Sunday afternoon in the finale against Cleveland left-hander Joey Cantillo (2-1, 4.14). 'Some of us now get a second chance with this,' Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers said. 'I don't think we're going to go out there and play terrible baseball. Even last year, the (Detroit) Tigers sold some guys off and got hot and snuck into the playoffs. Anything can happen.' The Guardians took the first game 3-2 on a Kyle Manzardo walk-off RBI single in the 10th inning, then won the second 5-4 after Bo Naylor doubled in Jose Ramirez in the eighth. After dealing all five of their late-inning relief specialists, the Twins were forced to throw Kody Funderburk and Pierson Ohl into the fire -- and paid for it as they both suffered losses. 'I liked a lot of what I saw, but at some point, you've got to find a way to score another run,' Minnesota manager Rocco Baldelli said. Urena's recall from Triple-A St. Paul epitomizes what the Twins are going through. The 33-year-old already has pitched for the New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers this season and was available on short notice to travel to Cleveland. Right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson originally was slated to start on Sunday, but Minnesota's massive series of transactions prompted Baldelli to juggle his rotation. Urena is 0-1 with a 3.95 ERA in 13 2/3 innings over three career starts against Cleveland. 'It's a part of baseball, just the business side,' Twins All-Star outfielder Byron Buxton said. 'We'll be better once we get on the other side of it, but I ain't going nowhere.' The Guardians aren't going away, either -- in terms of the postseason race.
