Metallurgical Testwork at Galena Complex Demonstrates Over 90% Antimony Recovery Supporting Potential Near-Term Primary Antimony Production in the United States
TORONTO — Americas Gold and Silver Corporation (TSX: USA) (NYSE American: USAS) ('Americas' or the 'Company'), a growing North American precious metals producer is pleased to announce promising results from recent metallurgical testing at its Galena Complex in Idaho, confirming high recoveries of antimony alongside strong silver and copper recoveries from ore currently being processed.

Paul Andre Huet, Chairman and CEO, commented: 'I am very excited that results of our test work have successfully demonstrated the potential to recover antimony – which is designated as a critical mineral in the United States – from ore currently being mined at our Galena Complex through a specialized flotation circuit. This breakthrough could significantly enhance value for Americas and its shareholders, as we currently receive no revenue, and were previously penalized for, the antimony in concentrates already produced. Furthermore, we're now well positioned as an early mover with the potential to become the only antimony producer in the United States, in the near-term.

'Our technical team is moving forward with detailed technical and trade-off studies to develop a plan to rapidly capitalize on the opportunity to commercially recover and realize value for antimony already present in our concentrates.'

Antimony at the Galena Complex is hosted in the common sulfosalt mineral, tetrahedrite, which is an antimony sulfide of silver, copper, iron and zinc. Although the Galena Complex has produced significant antimony over its life, the Company historically has not realized value for this material due to its insufficient concentration and quality for smelter acceptance.

Following a review of historical metallurgical data, the Company commissioned SGS Canada Inc. ('SGS') to conduct flotation tests on current mill feed. There were two objectives to the testwork:
Article content
Confirm that an antimony/silver flotation product could be achieved from the current ore being processed through the mill.
Generate a sufficient volume of flotation concentrate for additional testing to separate the antimony from the concentrate.

The test results mark a key step toward establishing Americas Gold and Silver as the only current antimony producer in the United States, unlocking a new revenue stream from a strategic by-product, previously counted as a penalty element, of the Galena ore body.
Article content
Antimony is recognized by the U.S. government as one of 35 elements on the Department of the Interior's Critical Minerals List due to its use in national defense, energy storage, and semiconductor applications. Currently, more than 90% of the antimony consumed in the United States is imported, primarily from China, Russia, and Tajikistan. At present, there are no operating mines producing antimony in the United States.
Article content
Over 18 million pounds of antimony have been produced from the Galena Complex since 2001. Americas Gold and Silver is positioned to become the only antimony producer in the U.S. if the potential for commercial recovery and product refinement can be achieved. This milestone would represent a significant development in restoring domestic supply of a mineral deemed essential to U.S. national and economic security, particularly since China stopped selling antimony to the U.S. in September 2024.

Galena's Legacy and Opportunity
Article content
Since 2001, the Galena Complex has produced over 18 million pounds of antimony, making it the largest antimony-producing site in the U.S. over the past two decades. However, until now, no revenue was recognized from this output due to limitations in concentrate quality.

Next Steps
Article content
Historically, individual lots of ore from both the Galena and Coeur mines were processed at the Sunshine Mine—located just four miles west—where antimony was effectively separated and recovered. Building on this precedent, the next phase of metallurgical testing, under the direction of Allihies Engineering, Inc., will focus on treating the current concentrate to produce multiple saleable antimony products, opening the door to monetizing a long-overlooked byproduct and reinforcing the Company's strategic value within the U.S. critical minerals framework.

B.C. tribunal settles dispute over ‘altered' love seat receipt, orders full refund
A reclining leather loveseat is seen in this stock image. (Credit: Shutterstock) A man who paid for a new love seat but received a used floor model must be refunded, after a B.C. tribunal found the business 'altered' the receipt after the purchase was complete. In 2023, Dhawal Sehgal paid $1,900 for a reclining leather love seat from Budget Furniture Land Ltd., according to a decision on the dispute posted online Tuesday. 'He says after signing a contract to purchase the couch, the respondent changed the contract from a new couch to a floor display model. The applicant refused to accept the floor model and cancelled the contract,' Civil Resolution Tribunal vice-chair Christopher C. Rivers wrote, summarizing Seghal's argument for a refund. The business, for its part, said Sehgal 'knew' he would be receiving a floor model and had no right to cancel the contract. Rivers reached his decision by comparing two copies of a signed invoice: a white original submitted by the company, and a pink carbon copy submitted by the customer. 'There are significant changes between the two copies. The respondent's white copy includes the word [floor] in square brackets in a separate column after the words 'Reclining love seat.' The applicant's pink carbon copy does not,' the decision said. 'These are not two separately prepared invoices, but one showing additions made after the parties both signed the agreement.' A representative for the store didn't provide any explanation for the change, leading Rivers to accept Sehgal's version of events as more likely than not to have occurred. 'The applicant asks me to find the respondent altered their copy without his knowledge and then attempted to depend on it. I do,' he wrote. 'I find it changed the parties' contract after signing and then attempted to substitute a floor model for the agreed-upon new couch.' Given that, the tribunal found Sehgal was justified in refusing to accept the love seat and entitled to get his money back. In addition to a $1,900 refund, the business was ordered to pay Sehgal $125 in CRT fees.

Why RTX Stock Popped Today
Key Points RTX beat on sales and beat on earnings yesterday, but guidance disappointed and investors sold off the stock. Today, Wall Street rode to RTX's defense, raising price targets across the board. RTX stock looks expensive even without the lowered guidance. 10 stocks we like better than RTX › A funny thing happened to RTX Corporation (NYSE: RTX) yesterday -- meaning funny-strange. RTX reported 9% sales growth in its fiscal second-quarter earnings report, and beat analyst forecasts with $1.56 per share earned on revenue of $21.6 billion. The stock fell 1.6%. Why Wall Street loves RTX stock Investors seemed upset that RTX's guidance didn't measure up to expectations yesterday. All seems forgiven on Wednesday, however, with RTX stock erasing Tuesday's losses and closing the day up 4.9%. For this, you can thank the Wall Street analysts who lined up to raise their price targets on the shares. Tic-tac-toe, four in a row, everyone from Bank of America to UBS sang RTX's praises today. BofA slapped a $175 price target on the stock, lowering its 2025 forecast but insisting that "outyear estimates" remain strong. Susquehanna Research agrees that $175 is the right price. It noted that the effect of tariffs is baked into guidance for earnings of $5.80 to $5.95 this year. UBS and RBC took, respectively, the over and under, with RBC saying RTX stock is worth $170 a share, and UBS guessing $177 -- and calling the stock's valuation "attractive." Is RTX stock a buy? Call me a cynic, but I just don't see things that way. Beyond guidance, when I look at RTX stock, I see a defense company earning $6.1 billion in net profit over the past year -- but generating less than $3.2 billion in positive free cash flow. It's bad enough that the stock costs 34 times trailing earnings, but a valuation of 65.5 times free cash flow is just plain ridiculous on a defense stock with a sub-2% dividend yield and a long-term growth rate below 10%. Much as I like the company, there's simply no way I'd buy RTX stock at these prices. Should you invest $1,000 in RTX right now? Before you buy stock in RTX, consider this: The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team just identified what they believe are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy now… and RTX wasn't one of them.
