According to a trade source of News 18, 'Nyaya' was completed before Aneet came on board for 'Saiyaara,' and has no impact on her theatrical trajectory going forward.
At just 22, with a potential Rs. 400 crore block-buster under her belt, Aneet is being hailed as a true Gen Z star. Industry chatter points to plans that position her as the cinematic face of a generation with a strategy focused squarely on strengthening her theatrical equity.
Aneet Padda in 'Nyaya'
'Nyaya,' the next series by Nitya Mehra, in collaboration with her husband Karan Kapadia, involves faith, law, and justice in a profoundly disturbing story based on true events. Fatima Sana Shaikh plays a determined police officer, Arjun Mathur is in important roles, but it is Aneet Padda who is actually the emotional centre, playing a 17-year-old survivor fighting for justice after sexual assault by a powerful spiritual figure.
With its textured cast and fearless storytelling, 'Nyaya' aims to stir public discourse and spotlight the lived realities behind headline-making cases. Gritty, poignant, and relevant, it's a courtroom drama with soul and consequence.
Aneet Padda's early tidings
Before she became a popular name with 'Saiyaara' Aneet Padda had been laying down her foundation in the industry. Obviously, her acting journey began in a modest but memorable capacity in the 2022 film 'Salaam Venky' where she performed alongside Kajol and held her own with quiet, unpretentious grace.
Aneet's true breakthrough came on Amazon Prime Video's 'Big Girls Don't Cry.' In her first lead role as Roohi Ahuja, Aneet's character emotional complexity reflected an artist between vulnerable and strength of quiet intention, causing critics to praise both emotional depth and range. The series didn't just confirm her as a lead, but confirmed her an artist of substance.

Blind to rules? ‘Blind date' at Cubbon Park lands organiser in soup
BENGALURU: A planned 'Blind Date' event at Cubbon Park has come under scrutiny after the state horticulture department filed a complaint with the Cubbon Park Police Station against the organiser for not obtaining permission to host the event. The event, announced by 24-year-old Vineet Kathoria from Laggere, was listed on BookMyShow starting at Rs 999 and was scheduled to be held every Saturday and Sunday from August 2 to August 31, between 11 am and 1 pm. It invited participants to engage in anonymous, blindfolded conversations in the park, describing it as a space for 'meaningful exchanges without judgment'. Police sources told TNSE that Vineet, who had been pursuing a degree in computer science, had dropped out and is currently unemployed. The sudden online popularity of the event, which had already drawn interest from more than 1,400 people in less than 24 hours, prompted Kusuma G, Deputy Director of state Horticulture Department, Cubbon Park, to take note. Horticulture Department officials also mentioned that they will also check with BookMyShow, questioning how they allowed listing of an event at Cubbon Park without seeking prior permission.

Last Updated: Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, earned Rs 7.25 crore by day two. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, it faces competition from Son of Sardaar 2 and Saiyaara. Dhadak 2 Box Office Collection Day 2: Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, finally arrived in theatres on August 1 after several delays. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, the film follows a new love story and is a spiritual follow-up to the 2018 movie Dhadak. Although it started off slowly on day one, the box office numbers are improving. By the end of day two, Dhadak 2 has earned Rs 7 crore, according to Sacnilk. The film hasn't crossed Rs 10 crore yet, but there's still a chance for it to grow with the weekend audience. On day two, Dhadak 2 showed a slight bump at the box office, raking in Rs 3.75 crore. The film had opened with Rs 3.5 crore on its first day, and with this new figure, its total collection has now reached Rs 7.25 crore. While the numbers aren't huge, the film seems to be holding steady heading into the weekend. Dhadak 2 isn't having it easy at the box office. The film is facing tough competition from Son of Sardaar 2, which also released this week. The Ajay Devgn-starrer comedy sequel earned Rs 7.5 crore on its second day which is double of Dhadak 2's Day 2 collection. With this, Son of Sardaar 2's total now stands at Rs 14.5 crore. Meanwhile, Saiyaara continues to rule the box office in its third week. The romantic drama is all set to cross the Rs 300 crore mark by Sunday. Also holding strong is the animated mythological film Mahavtar Narasimha, which is doing very well in its second week. The film narrates the story of a law student who falls in love with his classmate, only to face harassment from her family due to caste differences. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, and backed by Dharma Productions, Zed Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures, the romantic drama dives deep into themes of caste discrimination, love, and social resistance, offering a raw and emotionally charged cinematic experience. A spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak, this version is a remake of the acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal. Alongside the lead pair, the film also features Zakir Hussain and Saurabh Sachdeva in pivotal roles. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
