Racing Louisville downs the Pride 2-0 and the Current edges Angel City 1-0 in the NWSL
In the only other NWSL game on Friday, the Kansas City Current narrowly beat visiting Angel City 1-0.
Racing captain Wright opened the scoring by heading in a corner kick from Courtney Peterson in the 30th minute. The goal was Wright's first since she joined Louisville in 2024.
Flint scored her third goal of the season to make it 2-0 from the penalty spot in the 68th minute. Referee John Matto awarded the penalty after Emily Sams pulled Sarah Weber in the box.
The visiting Pride (8-4-1) dominated possession with 64% but only just edged Racing in shots 16-14. Orlandoe hit the target seven times to Louisville's three. It is only the second time the Pride have conceded multiple goals in a game this season.
Pride forward Barbra Banda took eight shots herself, forcing five saves from Jordyn Bloomer in the Louisville goal. Bloomer recorded her second shutout of the season.
Racing (6-5-2) now has five wins in their last seven NWSL matches, and moves up to fifth in the standings.
Lorena saves penalty, Zaneratto scores as Current stay perfect at home
Brazilian international Lorena saved a penalty and fellow countrywoman Bia Zaneratto scored to keep the Current perfect at home.
The victory secured a sixth consecutive win for Kansas City, which remained atop the NWSL standings. The Current (11-2-0) have also won all six game at home this season. Kansas City hasn't dropped a game at home since as July 2024 loss to Orlando.
With the score tied 0-0, Lorena leapt to her right to parry a spot kick by Angel City forward Alyssa Thompson in the 56th minute. The ball was tipped onto the crossbar before bobbling out for a corner kick.
It was Lorena's first penalty save and Thompson's failed conversion in the NWSL.
Reigning NWSL MVP Temwa Chawinga broke away on a dribble and had her low shot saved by Angel City goalkeeper Angelina Anderson, only for Zaneratto to scoop up the rebound and the tuck the ball away in the 69th minute.
Zaneratto has five goals this season, tied for the second-most of any Current player behind Chawinga with eight.
Angel City (5-5-3) is winless in its last five games, and has secured one tie and two losses since Alex Straus assumed the role of head coach three weeks ago.

Fluminense gets early goal from Germán Cano to knock out Inter Milan in Club World Cup Round of 16
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Germán Cano scored on a header three minutes into the match, and Fluminense held on to defeat Champions League finalist Inter Milan 2-0 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup in front of a sparce crowd at Bank of America Stadium on Monday. The Brazilians move on to face the Manchester City-Al Halil winner on Friday in Orlando, Florida. Almost before both teams were able to break a sweat in the 90-degrees Fahrenheit heat, Jhon Arias sent a slightly deflected crossing pass from the right corner that Cano headed into the net for a 1-0 lead. The Brazilians appeared to add to their lead late in the first half, but Ignacio's header into the net was waived off due to being offside. Hercules added a late wide open goal in stoppage time for the final 2-0 margin. Milan controlled the time of possession throughout the match and certainly had its chances, but couldn't will the ball into the net. It was one bad bounce after another. As the match was winding down Fluminense players jumped up and down on the sideline. That celebration carried over to the field after the match, where they hopped up and down in unison in a huddle, their arms wrapped around each other. Key moment Lautaro Martinez had a point-blank shot in the second half to tie the game, but the ball hit off the upright. He couldn't believe his bad luck and shook his head in disbelief. AFC Toronto adds to roster with defender Zoe Burns, forward Lauren Rowe
AFC Toronto has signed Canadian international defender Zoe Burns and Canadian youth international forward Lauren Rowe. Burns, 23, arrives from France's FC Fleury 91 while Rowe joins from North Toronto Women after a stellar career at Cape Breton University. A native of Issaquah, Wash., Burns is a dual citizen and represented the U.S. at the under-16 and under-17 levels before joining the Canadian under-20 program in 2022. She went on that year to play for Canada at the CONCACAF Women's Under-20 Championship in the Dominican Republic, where she was named to the tournament's Best XI, and at the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup in Costa Rica. In 2022, she earned her first senior call-up and went on to win caps against Nigeria and Morocco. "Adding a right-sided wingback was always going to be a priority for us this summer, so we are delighted to welcome a multi-faceted talent like Zoe to Toronto," AFC sporting director Billy Wilson said in a statement. "Zoe is another player with senior national team appearances, and she is eager to play her way back into national team contention," he added. Burns played collegiate soccer at USC where she was named to the All-Pac-12 second team and All-Pacific Region first-team recognition. Selected by the Utah Royals in the second round (29th overall) of the 2024 NWSL draft, she went on to make 21 appearances before being released at the end of the 2023 season. "I've played in the NWSL, I've played in Europe, and joining a new league like this is definitely a different kind of risk. But for me, it was important to be somewhere that's truly investing in women's sports, and in doing things the right way," Burns said in a statement. Burns officially joins the team Tuesday and will be available for selection when the NSL transfer window opens July 20. Her first eligible match will be July 24 in Vancouver. Rowe, 20, arrives from North Toronto Soccer where she scored seven goals and added 12 assists in 10 games. A native of Conception Bay South, N.L., Rowe scored the winning goal in both the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) semifinal and final, earning MVP honours in the championship match. Rowe was also named AUS Player of the Year. "Lauren came to our attention through her performances in League1 Ontario with North Toronto," said Wilson. "She's been training with us for the past month and has been great in our environment. She is a very direct player who possesses electric pace and enjoys taking on players head-to-head. "As a player from Newfoundland, her journey to this point has been a lot more challenging than others. She's forged a unique path for herself by fighting for every opportunity that's come her way.
