Geely, which owns LEVC, Lotus, Polestar, and Volvo, will soon be launching in the UK.
British showrooms will see the Geely EX5 in the final quarter of the year.
And the brand will open its own standalone dealership network in the UK.
The model is an electric crossover designed to rival the Skoda Elroq, Kia EV3, and Renault Megane.
Geely said the EX5 has been assessed by Lotus Engineering to evaluate whether it requires retuning for European roads.
Model details
UK specifications have yet to be announced while globally, the crossover is offered with a choice of 49.5kWh or 60.2kWh battery packs.
The 60.2kWh pack yields a range of up to 264 miles on the WLTP test cycle.
And they can be charged at a rate of up to 100kW on a DC connection, giving the bigger battery a 30-80% refill in 20 minutes.
It also has a single front-mounted motor that puts out 215bhp, giving a 0-62mph sprint time of 6.9sec.
Inside, the car seats five and features a 15.4in infotainment touchscreen.

UK market
While prices have yet to be announced, the EX5 starts from $40,990 (£19,500) in Australia.
This hints at a potential price of between £25,000 and £30,000 here in the UK.
Geely said that fleet buyers are expected to be a 'key segment' for the model.
They reported that these customers account for the majority of EV sales at present.
The company added that it was confident that it will appeal to UK buyers.
Car Auctions: How To Nab A Bargain
Car auctions are a way to sell vehicles based on a bidding system with the highest offer securing the deal.
Auctions aren't restricted to the rich and famous as thousands of cars are sold at motor auctions in the UK each week.
Here's what you need to know before attending an auction: Be prepared: Do your research on the car you would like to purchase beforehand. Check the car: Cars will usually be lined up before the start, so make sure to arrive early to inspect the desired car thoroughly. Have a back-up: Be ready for disappointment as your desired motor may be sold to someone else and select a few back-ups. Be realistic: Realise that there won't be a "perfect" car at an auction and adjust expectations accordingly. Set a budget: It is easy to overspend in the heat of the moment during bidding. Ensure you have set a budget and do not go over it.
Key phrases to look out for: 'No major mechanical faults' – suggests that there shouldn't be any issues with the car's drivetrain, gearbox, suspension, or engine.

'Sold with a warranted mileage' - The car is being offered based on the report, which confirms the mileage through an independent check.
Deliveries are earmarked to begin between October and the end of the year.
Additional Geely models are set to follow in 2026.
The move comes as the brand attempts to tap new markets for rapid growth.
They have set out to add more than 300 non-Chinese dealers and service centres to their global portfolio by the end of the year.
Geely sold nearly 2.2 million cars last year, which is up 34% compared from 2024.

Huge high street chain to shut UK store TODAY after announcing 20 shop closures after sale
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A HUGE high street retailer is set to shut one of its locations for good today. The store will shut up shop as the company rebrands its sites across the country. 2 The retailer will rebrand under new ownership Credit: Google Maps 2 WHSmith has been a high street staple for more than 200 years WHSmith has shut 20 stores this year already with its location on Midland Road, Bedford, set to follow suit today, July 5. It comes after the firm was bought out by Hobbycraft owner Modella Capital in March. The firm has not yet confirmed how many jobs will be affected by the closure. As part of the takeover deal all 464 WHSmith stores are rebranding to TGJones. WHSmith has been a staple of the British high street for some 200 years but came on hard times in recent years. The Modella Capital takeover has now been completed with the WHSmith website rebranded. There are over 1,100 WHSmith stores in the UK which will be either closed down or rebranded under the new ownership. Plans to open more than 100 new stores in airports, railways and hospitals are underway, these stores will not rebrand and remain as WHSmith. A WHSmith spokesperson said: 'We can confirm that the WHSmith store in Bedford will be closing in July. "It is no longer sustainable to continue to trade from this location and the decision has been taken to close the store as a result of the forthcoming lease expiry. McDonald's Menu Shake-Up, WHSmith High Street Exit, and Smart Meter Heating Warning – Money News Today "We are disappointed to be losing our presence in Bedford and we would like to thank all our customers for their support and for shopping with us. "We are also extremely grateful for the commitment of our in store colleagues who we will support with this transition and redeploy to nearby stores, where possible.' Modella have now put in planning applications with a number of local councils to change the signs on WHSmith stores. WHSmith customers have also started to receive emails from TGJones, leading to some confusion. Several stores that are closing are understood to be holding closing down sales. The end of WHSmith on the high street The closures mark the beginning of the end of a 233-year stint on the high street for WHSmith. Earlier this year, it put its entire high street estate up for sale as it focuses instead on its more profitable travel arm. Its remaining 480 high street stores were snapped up by Hobbycraft owner Modella Capital last month as part of a £76million deal. The move saved the jobs of roughly 5,000 employees. However, the famous WHSmith name is set to be lost to the high street as the shops will be gradually rebranded to TGJones. WHSmith stores will remain in airports, train stations and hospitals, and the retailer is planning to expand here. The brand opened its first shop in 1792 in Little Grosvenor Street, London, later becoming the UK's main newspaper distributor.

Legendary restaurant chain launches UK 'comeback' with new menu after rescue
A popular American restaurant chain has announced a 'full brand reset' as it looks to regain its presence in the UK. TGI Fridays said it undergone a major transformation, with new dishes and improved grill items, after it filed for bankruptcy last November. The group's UK owner, Hostmore LLC, had announced plans to purchase the whole worldwide brand in April 2024, but pulled out of the deal, leaving TGI Fridays to enter administration in October of that year. A rescue deal saved 51 of its UK locations, but 35 restaurants were forced to close, including the chain's flagship branch in London's Leicester Square, which shut shop in January. As part of the relaunch, timed to coincide with Independence Day in the US, diners at TGI Fridays this weekend will receive a voucher for a free return meal, valid during the week until the end of the month. A new and improved menu includes an 'ultimate Texas mixed grill' and cajun-spiced salmon fillet. Customers will also be able to choose from an all new American sandwich range. 50 per cent of the chain's dishes have been revamped, with 70 per cent of its grill offerings refreshed. The Americana themed restaurants have been a fixture of British towns since arriving from across the pond back in 1986. The bistro chain now employs 2,500 people across 49 restaurants, the Sun reported. Despite a decline in UK restaurant sector last year, TGI Fridays said that its takings had picked up in 2025. Its UK CEO Julie McEwan said: 'TGI Fridays has a rich heritage of bold flavour, high-energy hospitality and unforgettable celebrations – and we've gone back to those roots to bring that magic into a new era. 'Over the past eight months, we've restructured the business, invested in our incredible team, and rebuilt our offer around quality, value and experience.' More Trending It comes after London restaurant chain Ping Pong announced it would be closing down after more than two decades on the high street. The dim sum specialists, founded in Soho in 2004, had 13 branches at their peak before slimming down to four more recently. These were located on South Bank, near St Paul's Cathedral, Marylebone and Soho's Great Marlborough Street. Bosses did not give a reason for the decision, which comes three years after they appointed administrators and revealed the company had racked up considerable debt over the Covid pandemic. Five areas to roll out Scots city-wide 20mph speed limit revealed
It is set to be rolled out in phases A NEW city-wide 20mph speed limit is set to be rolled out across Glasgow - impacting almost 4,000 streets. Back in 2020, the city council approved a policy that would see a mandatory 20mph speed limit become the standard for all residential streets. Advertisement 1 New 20mph speed limits will be rolled out across Glasgow Credit: Getty It would also cover the city centre and other main shopping areas, or where there are high levels of walking, wheeling or cycling. Other streets in the city would generally remain at 30mph. And last year, council chiefs analysed a total of 5,740 streets to determine exactly which streets should have 20mph or 30mph speed limit. At the time, they said that the safer speed restrictions would encourage more people not to drive in quieter and less congested neighbourhoods. Advertisement And now it has been revealed that it will be imposed in five different areas across the city first, as it rolled out in phases. Phase one will see the 20mph speed restriction introduced in Govan, Southside Central, Calton, East Central and Shettleston by the end of the year. Moving to 20mph is a technically complex undertaking and the council has been working to identify the best mechanisms to take this work forward Councillor Angus Millar For specific streets in these areas, locals will have to look at an online 'dashboard' to find out what the speed limit is. According to STV News, 1,300 streets in Glasgow already have a speed limit of 20mph, and a further 650 will stay at 30mph. Advertisement And it was found that fatalities from crashes in 20mph zones were down by 62 per cent. While the number of serious injuries had dropped by 32 per cent and the number of minor injuries decreased by 31 per cent. Drivers are only just realising why some speed limit signs are green Councillors revealed the figures at the most recent Safe Glasgow Partnership meeting. And they stressed that they showed why it is important to introduce a 20mph speed limit across the county. Advertisement A council paper stated that the new limit would 'improve road safety, reduce traffic speeds and support healthier, more liveable neighbourhoods.' It added that the local authority had presented the plans to representatives from over 30 European cities. This was in a bid to 'showcase Glasgow's leadership in urban speed management.' Advertisement A council official told STV News: 'There is going to be an online dashboard that the public can access to see how speed is reducing in their area. 'It will be introduced in phases throughout the city. Phase one is Govan, Southside Central, Calton, East Central and Shettleston.' Councillor Angus Millar, City Convener for Climate and Transport, previously told the Scottish Sun: "A citywide 20mph speed limit will bring Glasgow in line with many other UK cities and help to create safer streets and communities for all of us, reducing the risk of accidents and the severity of injuries sustained. "Reducing the impact of traffic on communities will also contribute to the wider shift needed towards more sustainable forms of transport, which is vital if we are to achieve our target of Glasgow becoming carbon neutral by 2030. Advertisement HUGE ROLLOUT IN OCTOBER last year, we told how changes to the speed limit are set to be rolled out across Scotland after councils were given new cash to make the country's roads more safe. Scotland's 32 local authorities will share £14 million from the Scottish Government as part of the move - and some of the cash will be used to lower speed limits. Around £4 million of which will go towards rolling out 20mph limits on more roads. The Government also released an implementation guide to introducing the new speed limit, which emphasised having "comprehensive" consultations with affected residents. Transport Secretary Fiona Hyslop warned road deaths this year are tracking 26% above the same period in 2023. She said: "Road safety is a top priority for the Scottish Government, which is why we are making a record investment of £36 million this financial year toward initiatives that reduce road casualties. "This £14 million investment underlines our commitment to supporting our road safety partners to implement schemes that protect the public. "I'm pleased to see all 32 of Scotland's local authorities receive this support as we work toward our ambitious safety goals. "The release of our 20mph implementation guide will help local authorities introduce lower speed limits consistently across Scotland, creating safer streets for everyone. "Our goal of making Scotland's roads the safest in the world by 2030 is unwavering." "We know that many other cities have a 20mph speed limit and the evidence that's been gathered shows a minimal impact on the journey times for cars and buses. "Reduced speed limits on local roads can help create a safer environment for children and other vulnerable road users, while encouraging more people to walk, wheel and cycle. "Moving to 20mph is a technically complex undertaking and the council has been working with national partners to identify the best mechanisms to take this work forward." Karen McGregor, Scotland Director at Sustrans, added: "Sustrans is delighted to support Glasgow City Council and communities across the city with making this positive change. Advertisement "Time and time again, the evidence has shown that lowering speed limits in our built-up areas creates neighbourhoods that are safer for everyone. "And that this makes the biggest positive difference for our most vulnerable people such as children, older people and those living with disability."
