President Sisi lauds Bohra role in renewing shrines of Ahl Al-Bayt, historical Egyptian mosques

CAIRO – 5 May 2025: Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Sultan of the Indian Bohra Community, Sultan Dr. Mufaddal Saifuddin, accompanied by his sons Prince Ja'far El-Sadiq Imadduddin, Prince Taha Najmuddin, and Prince Husain Burhanuddin.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President Sisi extended a warm welcome to Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin as a cherished guest of Egypt.
The President underscored the close historical ties between Egypt and the Bohra community, expressing his profound appreciation for the role played by the Sultan of Bohra in restoring and renewing the shrines of Ahl Al-Bayt and a number of historical Egyptian mosques.
These efforts align with the Egyptian state's broader goals of development and the revitalization of Historic Cairo. The President commended the developmental and charitable projects sponsored by the Bohra community, in collaboration with 'Tahya Misr' fund.
Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin expressed his deep gratitude for the warm welcome he consistently receives during his visits to Egypt. He conveyed his special appreciation to President El-Sisi for his continued hospitality, lauding the ongoing development and comprehensive renaissance across various sectors in Egypt, alongside the consolidation of the principles of citizenship and tolerance.
The Sultan valued Egypt's leading role in the region in fostering peace, security, and stability.
He highlighted Egypt's dedicated efforts to calm tensions in the region, primarily its initiative to broker a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Egyptian community in Mali, at the beginning of his visit to Bamako, as part of his tour across several West African countries. Abdelatty expressed appreciation for the Egyptian community in Mali, praising their valuable contributions to Malian society and their constructive role in strengthening the ties between Egypt and Mali across various sectors. He outlined the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigration to upgrade consular services for Egyptians abroad, particularly through digitizing procedures. He also reviewed the initiatives launched by the ministry to serve Egyptians abroad, including offering privileges for getting housing units and agricultural lands as well as for joining Egyptian universities. He also highlighted the significant progress Egypt has achieved in both industrial and service sectors. Abdelatty's remarks came while inaugurating the Egypt-Mali Business Forum on Thursday in Mali's capital, Bamako. A high-level Egyptian delegation of 30 business leaders, CEOs, and representatives of major Egyptian companies across various fields participated in the forum. In his opening speech, Abdelatty said the forum marks a new and important milestone in strengthening economic and trade partnerships between Egypt and Mali. He emphasized that it opens unprecedented opportunities for the private sectors in both countries to develop partnerships based on integration and trust, in line with the depth of historical ties and the economic potential of both nations. The foreign minister stressed that Egypt-Mali relations are currently witnessing unprecedented momentum and that the forum serves as a significant starting point for boosting trade exchange, encouraging industrial and investment partnerships, and enhancing cooperation between the business communities of both countries. He described the forum as a practical first step toward strengthening institutional cooperation. He pointed out to joint efforts that have led to the formation of an economic working group, as well as ongoing efforts to establish an Egypt-Mali Business Council to activate cooperation opportunities across various sectors. He expressed Egypt's sincere desire to expand its investments in the Republic of Mali, especially in sectors prioritized by the Malian government, such as textiles, wood products, and pharmaceuticals. For his part, Mali's Minister of Industry and Trade Moussa Alassane Diallo emphasized the special importance that the Malian government places on enhancing cooperation with Egypt. He praised Egypt's vast expertise in supporting development across Africa. He also expressed Mali's aspiration to benefit from Egypt's pioneering experience in several key sectors.
