Filming for the latest instalment in the Marvel franchise kicked off on July 31 and will continue across the city until August 15. Production for the film has transformed Glasgow into New York City with fake construction sites, New York Police Department vehicles, and classic yellow taxis spotted. Facebook/Peter Collins Fans lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the action as tanks and cars sped through the streets. However, excitement reached new levels when Tom Holland, who plays the web-slinging hero, made an appearance and stopped to interact with fans. The 28-year-old has played the character in multiple projects across Marvel's Cinematic Universe, including Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the most recent movie, released in 2021, Holland and his fellow alternate Spider-Men, played by Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in other movies, came into contact due to a multiverse event. B&M shoppers rush to buy popular toy scanning for £1 instead of £37

SAVVY shoppers are rushing to pick up a popular toy that is scanning for just £1. Previously marked at £37, this B&M buy is guaranteed to entertain your little one for hours on end. Whether there's a birthday coming up or you're already looking ahead to Christmas, this toy bargain is well worth snapping up. A customer shared the deal she nabbed on the Facebook group B&M Scanner And Other Bargains. She also shared images of the Monster Smasher Hot Wheels set which "scanned for £1". However, a picture of the shop shelf showed that this wasn't the intended offer. B&M had reduced the price of the toy from £36.99 to £31.99, however more than just £5 was knocked off the price when it came time to pay. Other bargain hunters shared their shocked reactions in the comments section. "Jesus!! How good is that?" wrote one impressed Facebook user. Another commenter said their "little boy would love that". A third person guessed that the barcodes might give away which toys will scan for less. "It depends on the barcode, it can be the same product that has a different barcode in which case it will be a different price," they wrote. Brits urged to 'look in loft' as 5 popular 90s toys could make you serious money More on toys And this isn't the first time B&M shoppers have nabbed toys for just £1. However, in some cases parents were advised to check the shop's app in advance. Plus, a round-up on the 100 most iconic British toys of all time. And the nowadays. Another retro buy worth up to £2,500 could be sitting in your attic right now. What to watch out for when buying toys online HERE are the British Toy and Hobby Association's top tips for buying toys online: Shop early. Don't leave purchases to the last minute rush which might leave you fewer options of where to buy from. Check out third-party sellers. Look for sellers you recognise and trust. Be cautious of retailers you don't know and do your research checking reviews and where they're based. Go for branded toys. Try and choose a branded toy as then you can compare it to the manufacturer's own website to check it's legit. Be careful of going for the cheapest price. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is. Check if there are any age restrictions. Make sure you give suitable toys to children based on their age. Check reviews carefully. Some reviews are fake so look carefully at the comments. Stay with children at first. When your child opens a toy for the first time, stay with them and check for faults, detachable small parts, access to stuffing and loose or accessible batteries or magnets. More on B&M buys The retailer recently slashed the price of a decor item that "enhances" your garden all year round. Another garden buy from B&M is perfect for elevating your summer evenings. And a £1 buy that instantly makes your garden seem bigger, while adding style to eyesore walls. A bedroom essential that is scanning for just £10 from B&M, it's a dupe of a £199 version. 2

Tesco's birthday cake sandwich is leaving shoppers divided

A new birthday cake sandwich has been spotted in the supermarket, with the word spreading across the internet. It comes just weeks after a similar "strange" strawberries and cream sandwich from M&S also made headlines. The new Tesco cake is causing a divide, with some shoppers loving it, but others not so much. Tesco's birthday cake sandwich is leaving shoppers divided A photo was shared of the new Tesco sandwich on the Money Saving Central Facebook group, which has already received hundreds of comments. One person said: "Absolutely not, just when strawberries and cream couldn't get worse." Another added: "Maybe if it was cake cut to look like a sandwich I'd have it but not if it's on bread. Yuck." The sandwich has also been discussed on the Tesco page on Reddit. One confused person said: "What am I actually looking at?" Another described the sandwich as "utter filth", and another said it was "weird". UK Supermarket Rankings 2025 However, not everyone disagrees with the flavour, with some looking forward to trying it. "This reminds me of when I tried sprinkles on buttered bread. Game changer," said one. A second person said: "Is it just me who actually wants it." Some shoppers also compared it to Fairy Bread, which is popular in Australia. Often served at parties, it is sliced white bread spread with butter or margarine and covered with sprinkles. New viral sandwich after M&S controversy The divide over Tesco's new sandwich comes after the M&S strawberries and cream sandwich made waves in the supermarket community. The £2.80 'game-changing' limited edition Red Diamond Strawberry & Creme Sandwich was inspired by Japanese 'sweet sandos', or fruit sandwiches, M&S said. It is filled with the fruit and light whipped cream cheese on fluffy, sweetened bread. Recommended reading: Many described the product as "weird", but many others enjoyed the creation. M&S Food first sold freshly made sandwiches in the 1920s, and expanded sales with pre-packed sandwiches in the 1980s. The retailer's food halls have sold four billion sandwiches to date.
