During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan on his podcast, Kabir Bedi was asked about the reason behind his 'misunderstandings' with Pooja Bedi. 'There are problems in every relationship sometimes. I don't want to repeat the reasons again. However, there were a few misunderstandings – she did things that upset me, I must have done things that upset her. Kabir added, 'Our relationship is going strong now. It's a good relationship between father and daughter, and I am very proud of all the things she is doing. There's a lot of love and respect between us.'
Kabir Bedi also talked up about his bond with wife Parveen Dusanj. 'Acha rishta hai. We have great mutual respect for each other. Parveen has her own career, she is a producer who produced Bad Boy Billionaire for Netflix. She has got various other projects, she is developing. She has her career, Pooja has her own career,' he said.
When asked if his marriage with Parveen Dusanj was the reason behind differences with Pooja Bedi, Kabir replied, 'Whatever the reason, let's not go into that. Parveen wasn't the only reason. There were other reasons that divided us, other misunderstandings between father and daughter which had nothing to do with Parveen. Khushi ki baat yeh hai ki all this is resolved. I love Pooja. I love Parveen. They love being in the same city and meeting on occasions. All is well.'
On the work front, Kabir Bedi will next be seen in the reboot of his Italian series Sandokan.

'Rekha Is Sensitive, Afraid Of Getting Hurt': Kabir Bedi On Why They Did Not Socialise
Kabir Bedi also mentioned that he was an "honour" to work with Rekha in Khoon Bhari Maang. Kabir Bedi has recalled working with Rekha on their 1988 film Khoon Bhari Maang. In a recent interview, Bedi revealed that he was in Hawaii, shooting for one of his other projects, when Rakesh Roshan offered him the role. The actor mentioned that he accepted it immediately after learning that he had to star opposite Rekha. 'Khoon Bhari Maang is the film I am most known for; it's the most remembered. The film was a superhit. I was shooting for another series, called Magnum PI, in Hawaii when I received a call from Rakesh Roshan. He offered me the role of a hero in his film, and I asked why he chose me for it. Then he told me that the hero becomes the villain in the movie, and no other hero was willing to do this. He also shared that starring another villain would have no surprise element, which is why he told me only I could play hero and a villain," Kabir told Siddharth Kannan. The actor mentioned that he was an 'honour" to work with Rekha since he was at the peak of her career. 'The minute he told me Rehka was the heroine, I said yes. Back then, it was a huge honor working with her. She had won some awards for Umrao Jaan and was a brilliant actor, so I re-routed my schedule in Hawaii and came to shoot here. Rekha made that film what it is; she was the heart and soul of Khoon Bhari Maang. The film made a big impression on people. And I didn't want to lose the opportunity of working with Rekha," he added. However, Kabir Bedi also revealed that he could not socialise much with Rekha because she is 'very sensitive" who is often 'afraid of getting hurt". 'We had mutual respect for one another. She is a private person; she guards her privacy. She is a very sensitive girl who is afraid of being hurt, so she protects herself, and I respect that. Even today, we meet very nicely, I embrace her, like her, but it was never like we sat down together and had lots of evenings talking about life. We would meet on set, speak there, but no great socialising after work," he shared. view comments First Published: July 15, 2025, 16:13 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
