The construction will begin this year and will be completed within four years. During the Cabinet session in Madaba, Husein announced the launch of a high-speed bus route between Madaba and Amman, which will operate 8 buses on fixed schedules, offering 52 trips daily, with direct government support. He emphasized the government's commitment to implementing projects that are agreed upon with elected councils in the governorates, as per the allocations in this year's budget and those that will be allocated in future years' budgets. Husein also stressed that the government cares about the citizens, and there is no place in the public sector for those who do not care. The Prime Minister highlighted the significant importance of field visits in shaping policies and decision-making. "What we see on the ground directly impacts our plans and developmental programs across all sectors, along with addressing urgent needs and quick interventions." Husein also affirmed that the war being waged by Israel on Gaza is a war against humanity. The entire international community must be concerned with ending this barbarism, which has targeted children, women, and civilians. Currently, it involves starving the people with the aim of displacement and expelling those who remain steadfast on their land.

Netanyahu meets 'Israel' president on Gaza, Arab ties before US trip

Netanyahu met the 'Israeli' president on Sunday ahead of his visit to Washington, with talks focusing on the Gaza war and efforts to expand ties with Arab states, the presidency said. Netanyahu is expected at the White House on Monday for talks with US President Donald Trump, who is pushing to end the 21-month Gaza war. Indirect negotiations were set to resume Sunday in Doha, mediated by Qatar, Egypt and the United States. "In his visit to Washington, the prime minister carries with him an important mission -- advancing a deal to bring all our hostages home," President Isaac Herzog said in a statement. "This is a supreme moral duty. I fully support these efforts, even when they involve difficult, complex and painful decisions. We must all remember that the cost is not simple," he added. Two Palestinian sources close to the discussions told AFP the proposal included a 60-day truce, during which Hamas would release 10 living captives and several bodies in exchange for Palestinians detained by 'Israel'. Some in 'Israel' have called for an agreement that would see all captives released in a single exchange. Netanyahu and Herzog – whose role is largely ceremonial – also discussed the prospect of expanding the US-brokered Abraham Accords of 2020, which saw 'Israel' normalize relations with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco. "The two discussed opportunities to deepen ties with additional countries, in the spirit of US President Donald Trump's Abraham Accords initiative," said the statement from Herzog's office. 'Israeli' Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has recently said his government was "interested" in normalizing ties with neighbouring Lebanon and Syria, with Damascus saying such a move was "premature".

Senate, Arab Parliament discuss joint cooperation

Ammon News - Senate President Faisal Fayez received Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Yamahi and his accompanying delegation on Sunday, as part of an official visit to Jordan at the invitation of the Senate. Following formal talks, both sides signed a memorandum of cooperation to bolster parliamentary relations between Jordan's Senate and the Arab Parliament. The agreement includes exchanging expertise and knowledge in legislative affairs, training, and capacity building, in addition to coordinating positions at regional and international forums and promoting dialogue and parliamentary diplomacy in service of Arab interests. Fayez underscored the important role of the Arab Parliament and its leadership in advancing joint Arab action to meet the aspirations of Arab peoples. He stressed the need to activate Arab parliamentary diplomacy to help resolve the region's crises. He called for intensified and coordinated Arab parliamentary efforts to expose Israel's atrocities and brutal aggression to global public opinion and to press international parliaments to take clear and firm positions to halt Israeli aggression and enforce international court rulings against Israeli political and military figures accused of war crimes. Fayez also urged the Arab Parliament to convene an Arab economic summit to establish an economic union modeled after the European Union, aiming to boost economic cooperation, trade exchange, technology transfer, and ultimately create a common Arab market. He emphasized that confronting the region's current challenges requires Arab parliamentarians to strengthen and activate parliamentary institutions, bridge differences, and elevate these institutions to meet the ambitions of Arab citizens, advance joint Arab action, and unify political stances on key Arab causes. Fayez briefed the delegation on the latest regional developments, particularly the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and efforts to expand tensions. He highlighted Jordan's role, under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, in working to end the Israeli aggression and supporting the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights. He stressed that Jordan remains strong through its leadership, people, security services, and armed forces, despite all challenges. For his part, Yamahi praised Jordan's distinguished parliamentary experience and the Arab Parliament's keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchange best practices in parliamentary work. He commended Jordan's historical role under the Hashemite leadership in supporting Arab unity and defending Arab causes, foremost among them the Palestinian cause. He expressed the Arab Parliament's full support for His Majesty's efforts to achieve regional peace and resolve the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution and relevant international legitimacy resolutions, reaffirming support for the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Yamahi noted that signing the memorandum of understanding with the Senate reflects the Arab Parliament's commitment to strengthening inter-Arab parliamentary cooperation, promoting shared dialogue, and addressing the region's pressing challenges. He added that the Arab Parliament is currently working to advance the shift to a digital economy, achieve Arab food security, empower women and youth, and establish a parliamentary forum for regional parliamentary leaders to confront challenges and achieve peace, security, stability, and development. Gaza truce talks to resume in Doha before Netanyahu heads to US

Indirect negotiations between 'Israel' and Hamas are set to resume Sunday in Doha for a Gaza truce and captive release deal, ahead of a visit by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House. Netanyahu had earlier announced he was sending a team to Qatar, a key mediator in the conflict, though he said Hamas's response to a draft US-backed ceasefire deal contained "unacceptable" demands. Under mounting pressure to end the war, now approaching its 22nd month, Netanyahu is scheduled to meet on Monday with US President Donald Trump, who has been making a renewed push to end the fighting. A Palestinian official familiar with the talks and close to Hamas said international mediators had informed the group that "a new round of indirect negotiations... will begin in Doha today". The group's delegation, led by its top negotiator Khalil al-Hayya, had already arrived in the Qatari capital, the official told AFP. On Friday, Hamas had said it was ready "to engage immediately and seriously" in negotiations. Netanyahu, who confirmed 'Israeli' negotiators were also en route, said that "the changes that Hamas is seeking to make in the Qatari proposal... are unacceptable to Israel". Hamas has not publicly disclosed its response to the US-backed proposal, relayed by mediators from Qatar and Egypt. 'Enough' Two Palestinian sources close to the discussions told AFP the proposal included a 60-day truce, during which Hamas would release 10 living captives and several bodies in exchange for Palestinians detained by 'Israel'. However, they said, the group was also demanding certain conditions for 'Israel's' withdrawal, guarantees against a resumption of fighting during negotiations, and the return of the UN-led aid distribution system.
