Is ‘High Country' returning for season 2? Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on July 17, 2025, 19:00 IST Last updated July 17, 2025, 11:32 IST High Country burst onto our screens in 2024, and wow, did it leave a mark! This Australian mystery series, set in the rugged Victorian Alps, had us glued to our seats with its dark secrets, killer twists, and Leah Purcell's unforgettable performance as Detective Andie Whitford. After that wild Season 1 finale, fans are dying to know: Will there be a High Country Season 2? Here's the lowdown on everything we've heard so far about returning to Brokenridge. Is High Country Season 2 Officially Happening? As of July 2025, Binge and Foxtel haven't dropped any official news about High Country Season 2. The show's creators, Marcia Gardner and John Ridley, are keeping quiet, too. But don't lose hope! The series pulled in strong viewership, and critics loved it— TV Tonight gave it a 4/5 for its bold storytelling. Plus, that cliffhanger ending screams for a follow-up. Fans are making noise on X, posting about how much they want Andie back, and Reddit threads are full of theories about what's next. The buzz is real, and with all the loose ends, it feels like Season 2 is more likely than not. We're just waiting for the green light. High Country Season 2 Potential Release Date Okay, no confirmation means no exact date, but let's do some detective work. Season 1 was filmed in April 2023 and hit screens in March 2024—about 11 months later. If Season 2 gets the go-ahead soon, we might see it in late 2025 or early 2026. High Country Season 2 Expected Cast If Season 2 happens, we'd bet on seeing these key players: Leah Purcell as Andie Whitford, the fearless detective at the show's core. as Andie Whitford, the fearless detective at the show's core. Sara Wiseman as Helen, whose emotional arc added heart to Season 1. as Helen, whose emotional arc added heart to Season 1. Pez Warner as Kirra, Andie's fiery teenage daughter. as Kirra, Andie's fiery teenage daughter. Aaron Pedersen, whose role brought serious gravitas. New characters could spice things up, and the creators might explore more of Brokenridge's residents. The cast's chemistry was a standout, so we're excited for more of their dynamic. High Country Season 2 Potential Plot Season 1 ended with some major 'what just happened?!' moments (no spoilers, don't worry). If we get a Season 2, expect Andie to dig into the town's darkest corners, especially that heartbreaking child murder case that's still unsolved. Fans on X are hyped for more drama between Brokenridge's residents—there's so much tension to unpack. And with Leah Purcell's Indigenous roots shaping the show, we could see richer cultural threads woven into the mystery. The Victorian High Country's wild, moody landscapes will probably steal the show again. It's the perfect backdrop for creepy clues and emotional showdown Hasta la vista, baby!s. Whether it's new faces stirring up trouble or old secrets bubbling up, there's tons of story left to tell. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . Matthew McConaughey Goes Viral After His Wimbledon Gesture To The Prince And Princess Of Wales
is earning royal praise, quite literally, after a sweet and respectful gesture toward the Prince and Princess of Wales at this year's Wimbledon final went viral. The "Dallas Buyers Club" star was spotted in the star-studded Royal Box on Sunday as he watched Jannik Sinner defeat Carlos Alcaraz for the championship title. But it wasn't just the match that caught the internet's attention. It was Matthew McConaughey's old-school manners that stole the show. In now-viral footage shared on X (formerly Twitter), the "How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days" star was seen rising from his seat in the royal box as and arrived. Though not obligated by royal protocol, as Americans aren't required to bow or curtsy, Matthew McConaughey chose to stand in a show of respect, quietly honoring their presence. The internet was quick to take notice. "Matthew McConaughey standing to applaud the Prince & Princess of Wales. What a lovely southern gentleman," one user wrote. Others chimed in with praise like, "Real class," 'He's a gentleman,' and 'Matthew was raised right. Always something I have always admired.' The "We Are Marshall" actor attended the match alongside his wife, , and was seen greeting fellow VIPs, including tennis legend Andre Agassi, with his signature warmth and ease. The final day of Wimbledon wasn't just star-studded, it was royally charming. In a delightful surprise, Prince George and Princess Charlotte joined their parents, Prince William and Kate Middleton, at Centre Court to watch the men's singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. The family of four made quite the coordinated entrance, all donning shades of blue for the special occasion. Prince George, who turns 12 later this month, matched his father in a dapper navy suit and tie, while Princess Charlotte looked picture-perfect in a soft blue summer dress and matching hair bow that complemented her mom's chic ensemble. Princess Kate, who also attended the women's final the day before, stunned in her own summery look as she returned for the tournament's grand finale. Although the Royal Box is usually reserved for adult guests due to its limited 74-seat capacity, special exceptions are made for royal children, and Prince George and Princess Charlotte are no strangers to Wimbledon. Both have attended before, while their younger brother, Prince Louis, 7, has yet to make his debut. Also spotted in the crowd was King Felipe of Spain, in attendance to cheer on his countryman, Carlos Alcaraz Despite announcing her cancer was in remission earlier this year, Kate Middleton continues to gracefully navigate a delicate balance between public royal duties and private healing. In a heartfelt moment during her July 2 visit to Colchester Hospital, the Princess of Wales opened up about the emotional aftermath of cancer treatment, a phase she says has been more challenging than most realize. "You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment's done, then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,'' she shared while speaking with staff and patients. 'But actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult." The 42-year-old royal, who revealed her diagnosis in March and shared news of her remission in June, has become a quiet source of strength and inspiration as she slowly returns to the spotlight. "You have to find your new normal and that takes time... and it's a rollercoaster, it's not smooth like you expect it to be,' she continued. 'But the reality is you go through hard times." Wimbledon has always been a hotspot for A-listers, and this year has been no different. Over the course of the tournament, celebrities like , , and have all made headlines with their appearances in the stands. But it was Matthew McConaughey's southern charm that truly stood out during the final. Amid a sea of glamorous outfits and Hollywood smiles, McConaughey reminded fans that real class is timeless.

Kylie Kelce says she approves of new ‘feral child summer' trend — and moms agree
During the July 10 episode of her podcast 'Not Gonna Lie,' host Kylie Kelce talked about the latest parenting trend she's been seeing circulating social media and various news reports. 'This summer there is a new trend I'm seeing on a lot of parent blogs, TikTok, local news,' Kelce, 33, explained. 'It's called 'feral child summer.'' It's a trend that Kelce said she's very much onboard with as a mom of four. 'I love the idea of feral child summer,' she explained. Kelce shares her four daughters, Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finnley, with her husband, retired NFL star Jason Kelce. 'I currently will unleash my children into the backyard,' Kylie Kelce admitted. 'If one of them ends up digging out a rock. Have at it. If another one ends up climbing up the play set, having a whole pretend play situation or scenario made up. Great. I love watching them play.' Kylie Kelce said she herself was 'a bug hunt kid' growing up. 'If you weren't a bug hunt kid, I'm sorry you missed out on that.' Kylie Kelce recalled the stepping stones that were in the yard of her childhood home growing up that she 'would go and flip over to find the rollie pollies, centipedes, earthworms. I loved that.' And she's hoping to share her love of bug hunting with her own daughters. 'The other day, I had to show my kids how to catch fireflies carefully. Everybody knows, if you catch ladybugs or fireflies, they will climb up to the tippy top of your hand and fly away that way. And then you can track them just long enough to see their first flash, because that's what you're going for.' 'You don't want to hold on to them for too long, because then they're going to cease to exist, if you catch my drift,' Kylie Kelce continued. 'We catch them and we let them go, but we catch them with cuppy hands so that we don't squash them. That was a lot of our conversation.' In honor of the 'feral child summer' trend, Kylie Kelce also shared who her most feral child is. 'The other night, my most feral child for a very long time, thought for sure it was Elliotte. No one was going to rival her, and then Bennett turned 2,' Kylie Kelce admitted.
