Mint and Blue Shadow may not be for everyone, though. If you care more about a bigger battery or a slightly more acceptable price tag, then you can't go wrong with the Oppo Find N5 or the Honor Magic V5. The V5 is currently the slimmest foldable in the world, and will hopefully soon be available globally.

With Mint and Blue Shadow, the Fold has some really pretty color options available this year, though the standard Black and Silver options are excellent too. You can also slap on the new Carbon Shield case for a very different, but still appealing, look as well.Thewill become available around July 25, and the Mint will only be available if you order directly from Samsung's website. Blue Shadow, which is the standout color option this year in my opinion, can be bought in stores as well.Samsung has genuinely made a generational leap with the Fold this year, and has truly caught up to Chinese foldables in my eyes. Theis super slim, very powerful, has an excellent camera, and is a stunner to boot with a screen that features a very minimal crease. If you go for the 1 TB variant, you also get boosted up to 16 GB of RAM, which is always welcome.

Another source confirms the rumor that there won't be aPlus. The new plan for Samsung is to release theEdge along with the vanilla and themodels.A new report based on Korean supply chain sources reiterates that Samsung might release only threemodels next year, if we don't count a potential Fan Edition device. The leaked listings had only three model numbers, corresponding to the same trio of potential a move from Samsung wouldn't be exactly shocking. Thehad the same 6.7-inch display as the S25 Plus, but in a much thinner body. The obvious trade-offs are the loss of a camera on the back and the significantly smaller battery, which also charges more slowly. However, all that makes thestand out from the rest of the lineup, which might be Samsung's that rumor is true, Samsung will end up with three very distinct flagship offerings, potentially attracting more attention. On the other hand, everyone who wanted a bigger phone, but without the extra features of the Ultra, would have to choose either a device with a smaller battery or one with an even bigger screen and a higher Apple's experience is an indication for Samsung's business, the Plus models aren't smash hits. The iPhone 16 Plus was the lowest-selling of the iPhone 16 series, so this year it might be replaced by the iPhone 17 Air . I believe it's safe to assume that Samsung's numbers are similar, and the Galaxy S25 Plus was probably the lowest-selling model of the with that in mind, I'd take these rumors with a grain of salt. We've heard that the Plus model would be discontinued many times before, but it always comes back. Besides, thedoesn't seem to sell particularly well either, so the age of the super-slim flagship might need to wait longer.

Honor X70 vs. excavator and fire hose
Honor is unveiling the X70 on July 15, and the brand has ramped up its teaser campaign for the phone now that it's mere hours away from becoming official. Have you ever wondered who'd win a confrontation between a yet-unannounced smartphone and a Sany SY205C-S excavator? Well, the video below will give you the answer. Spoiler alert: the phone is affixed to one of the excavator's bucket's teeth, and then the excavator does some good 'ol excavating, with the phone over there. At the end, after being exposed to a whole lot of dirt, it survives unscathed, as you'd expect. In the second part of the video, the phone is hit by the excavator's bucket, which makes it fly in the air for a while until it falls to the ground. Naturally, it's fine. And finally (and most insanely), it's 'pressed' by the excavator's bucket, once again making it through with no issues. Next up, a fire hose. This one's more straightforward - the fire hose shoots water directly at the phone, and it's fine thanks to its IP69 and IP69K water resistance ratings, even though other items aren't. The Honor X70 will have a record-breaking (for a mainstream smartphone) 8,300 mAh battery but will somehow still be less than 8mm thick and weigh less than 200g. It's going to boast a 6.79-inch 1200x2640 OLED screen, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC at the helm, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and MagicOS 9 out of the box.

There won't be a Samsung Galaxy S26+, new report claims
This year Samsung launched the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra in January and then the S25 Edge in May. Next year, the family (if we disregard the FE model) will only be made up of three members, according to a new report from Samsung's home of South Korea. So, expect to see the 6.27-inch Galaxy S26, the 6.66-inch Galaxy S26 Edge, and the 6.89-inch Galaxy S26 Ultra. That's right, there won't be a Galaxy S26+, that is, of course, if this report proves to be accurate. We can't say we're very surprised. After all, the Galaxy S25 Edge has the same screen size as the S25+, but it's thinner (with all the compromises arising from that - primarily we're talking one less camera and a far smaller battery). And with Apple long rumored to replace the iPhone 16 Plus with the iPhone 17 Air, Samsung is just following along. We assume that the Plus model of the Galaxy S series has been the lowest-selling one by far (it's the same case for Apple), and so letting it go makes sense, especially as the Edge will actually cater to those who specifically want the in-between screen size. For those who want the biggest screen and the most features, there's always the Ultra, and of course it helps Samsung's bottom line that it's the most expensive of the line - and that the Edge is more expensive than the Plus. Average selling price for the line will definitely go up, even if only by a little. The flip side is that those who really liked what the Plus had to offer and didn't need the extra bells and whistles of the Ultra will now have two flawed options to pick from: the Edge with the same size but slightly more expensive and with a smaller battery and presumably still one less camera, or the Ultra that's much more expensive, and bigger, and heavier.
