Plan an ice-cream social with scoops, sprinkles & swirls
When the mercury climbs and the sun beats down, there's no sweeter escape than the cool, creamy comfort of an ice- cream social. It's a throwback to simpler times — joyful, hands-on, and perfect for all ages.
Kids revel in the chance to build their dream sundaes, while adults indulge their inner child, debating over toppings like rainbow sprinkles or caramel drizzle. The setup is easy, the vibes are high, and the mess is half the fun. Forget sweltering in the heat and plan this fun summer activity for your buddies. From colourful décor and retro music, to the best frozen treats to cool off. Lahoma Bhattacharya played the perfect host, throwing the ultimate ice-cream social for friends Raipurna Halder, Sanjukta Dutta and Imon Sengupta.
CT joined in the fun too, capturing every sweet, sticky moment.
A sweet sprinkle of toppings
An ice-cream social is meant to bring out your inner child so don't hold back on the toppings. Chef Vidisha Batwal suggests getting playful with your ice-cream presentation — think mini tubs like the ones you'd find at a kid's birthday party, perfect for serving up cheerful little waffle sundaes; or go a little extra with bubble waffles rolled into cones and generously filled with your favourite scoops.
For something a bit more unexpected, she advises trying crispy crepe rolls that act as both wrap and dessert — a deliciously edible upgrade that adds a gourmet touch.
Craft the perfect aesthetic
Table runners in pastel stripes or polka dots
Small signage like 'Build Your Own Sundae', 'Toppings Bar', or 'Scoop Me Up!'
Backdrops with ice-cream illustrations, balloon arches, or ice-cream parlour themes
Themed props like waffle cone cutouts and carts
Serving displays with labelled jars, cake stands, and tiered trays for toppings
Consider adding a DIY sundae or float station, live ice-cream churning demo or hiring a gelato cart
Polaroid photo corner with themed props for guests to take the perfect Insta-worthy shot

Actor Dilip Joshi, best known for his role as Jethalal in the popular comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is making headlines for his impressive weight loss transformation. Reportedly, he shed around 16 kilos in just 45 days. While that might seem normal, what makes his journey remarkable is that he achieved it without hitting the gym or following a strict diet. Reportedly, it was just one simple lifestyle change that helped him lose weight. Recently, Dilip was snapped out and about in Mumbai at an event. Talking to the paparazzi, he was asked about the secret behind his weight loss. Spilling the beans, he laughed and reacted to the buzz around it on social media. Dilip told the media, 'Areey, 1992 mein kiya tha bhai, abhi pata nahi kissi ne social media pe chala diya yaar (Oh, it was in 1992, brother. I'm not sure who posted it on social media now)." After this, the paparazzi told Dilip about his viral transformation pictures doing the rounds on social media. To this, Dilip smiled and thanked them before walking away. Previously, the actor opened up about his weight loss journey during an interview with Mashable India. He revealed that he lost 16 kgs just by regularly running for one and a half months. Ananya Panday confesses she's not a crier, but couldn't stop weeping after watching cousin Ahaan Panday's Saiyaara
Mohit Suri's romantic drama Saiyaara, which marks the film debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has become the highest grossing Hindi film with newcomers. Backed by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films, the movie has earned Rs 45 crore at the domestic box office within just two days since release. Ahaan is the brother of popular social media influencer Alanna Panday and the first cousin of actor Ananya Panday. Alanna and her husband Ivor McCray posted a vlog which gives a sneak peek into the Panday household across two days leading up to the release of Saiyaara. Titled 'My BROTHER'S first movie launch day! #Saiyaara vlog,' the video has Ivor taking the audience through the behind-the-scenes action. The vlog starts with the Panday family organizing a havan at their home two days before the release of Saiyaara. Ahaan Panday, sitting on the floor in a white kurta, reveals that he misses his dadi (paternal grandmother), whose portrait is also kept there to mark her presence. His father reveals Chikki Panday reveals Ahaan used to fight with his dadi to put ghee into the sacred fire in his childhood. In another scene, as the Panday family sit together in the living room, Alanna makes Ahaan hold her one-year-old son River. She describes him as the biggest fan of Krish Kapoor, the character Ahaan plays in Saiyaara. They plan to make River wear a t-shirt that says, 'I'm Krish Kapoor's best friend.' Ahaan reveals while River had not been warming up to his uncle all this while, he's suddenly took to him after watching the trailer of Saiyaara. We then see Ivor try to sing the Saiyaara title track, filmed on Ahaan, in broken Hindi. His singing gives way to laughter a couple of times as Alanna records her husband attempting to sing in Hindi. The family then visits the mini theatre at Yash Raj Studios for the film's first screening, where they also meet Aneet Padda and her parents. 'It's really nerve-wrecking. And also, he's (Ahaan) not helping much. I show my shaking hand, he's like, 'Me too!' (shows shaking hand),' Aneet says in the vlog. During the screening, Ivor makes River peep into the theatre to watch Ahaan Panday lip-syncing on the screen, much to his nephew's surprise. He even lets out a chuckle after Ivor steps away with River in his arms. After the screening, the Panday family hug Ahaan and Aneet and admit they were all crying throughout the film. After the screening, Ananya Panday is spotted crying and confessing to the camera, 'I never cry!' Alanna agrees and says Ananya wouldn't even cry while delivering her firstborn. Ananya reveals she had to poke her eyes to make herself cry at the wedding of Alanna and Ivor. Ananya adds she can't tell the difference between Ahaan and his character. Her mother, Bhavana Pandey, also admits she loved Krish. Ananya's father and Ahaan's uncle Chunky Panday is also seen dancing in excitement at the screening. Bobby Deol also makes an appearance, shaking hands with Ivor.
