Order blocking illegal streaming of Premiership football is extended by court
The order was first made in 2019 following applications from the Football Association Premier League (FAPL) Ltd.
On Monday in the Commercial Court, Mr Justice Mark Sanfey agreed to an application from the FAPL to extend the order for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 football seasons.
The order applies to Eircom trading as eir, Virgin Media Ireland, Sky Ireland/Sky Subscriber Services and Vodafone to block the IP addresses of the illegal streamers.

Sky supported the application while the other three companies, which also implement the blocking order, were neutral as to the application, the court heard.
Johnathan Newman SC, for the FAPL, said, as in previous applications, the evidence from Sky showed the proportion of streams that are disrupted is very significant and the volume of material blocked is extremely high. The level of material which has to be blocked is 'quite striking', counsel said.
Mr Justice Mark Sanfey said he was satisfied the order was reasonable and proportionate.

Munster to host Gloucester at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in December Champions Cup clash as fixture details confirmed
Munster open their 2025/26 Champions Cup campaign under new coach Clayton McMillan against Bath on Saturday, December 6th before breaking new ground in Europe when taking Gloucester to the home of Cork GAA, Páirc Uí Chaoimh for their round two clash on December 13th. In the Challenge Cup , Ulster open their campaign against Racing 92 on a Friday night at the renamed Affidea Stadium in Belfast, where they will also play their final game against Stade Francais. In between, Richie Murphy's side will visit Cardiff and play the Cheetahs. The South African side have to play the game in Europe at a venue yet to be determined. Stuart Lancaster's first game in charge at Connacht will be a short hop to Wales to take on the Ospreys, who haven't specified their home ground for next season. Financial and healthcare stocks drag down European shares
European shares ended lower on Tuesday, dragged down by heavyweight financial and healthcare stocks as investors awaited news on a potential US-EU trade deal while assessing the latest US inflation data. DUBLIN The Iseq All-Share index ended the session narrowly in the black, up 0.06 per cent at 11,262.29, on Tuesday. Hotel group Dalata closed down 2.6 per cent to €6.37 after a Scandinavian consortium reached an agreement to buy the business for €1.4 billion. READ MORE Permanent TSB was 1.91 per cent weaker on €2.05 after news broke early in the day that NatWest Group had sold its remaining 11.65 per cent shareholding in the bank, raising €126 million. Ryanair also fell, giving up 0.88 per cent to €23.57 on the day, alongside healthcare services group Uniphar which dropped 1.08 per cent, continuing losses from yesterday. Irish Ferries brand owner Irish Continental Group was the strongest performer on the index, closing up 1.44 per cent to €5.64. Gains by bankers kept the market in the green, with AIB rising 1.19 per cent and Bank of Ireland adding 1.25 per cent. LONDON The FTSE 100 retreated from record highs as rising US inflation raised concerns about the impact of tariffs. Investors also focused on the Bank of England's monetary policy path. Henderson on roles Keith Andrews and Caoimhin Kelleher played in Brentford move
Jordan Henderson has hailed new Brentford boss Keith Andrews for making his decision to the Premier League side an 'easy' one. The former Liverpool midfielder is also looking forward to linking up once again with his ex-Anfield pal Caoimhin Kelleher, who completed his switch earlier this summer. Henderson signed on the dotted line after Ajax Amsterdam agreed to terminate his contract a year early. And he told the club's official website: 'I'm delighted that I'm here; I'm very excited to get started and get going. 'I've always had huge admiration for the club and what they've achieved over the last few years, in particular, how they've grown as a club. 'I've been told how organised and well-run the club is, it's very family-oriented, which I think is very important.' Henderson won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup among a dazzling array of honours at Liverpool, before his controversial move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq two years ago. He spent just six months there before signing for Ajax. As for the role Andrews and Kelleher played in his decision to move to Brentford, the 84-time capped England midfielder said: 'When I spoke to Phil Giles (director of football), Lee Dykes (technical director) and Keith, I just had a really good feeling about everything. 'As soon as I had that conversation, it was clear for me that I wanted to come here and it was an easy decision in the end. 'When I spoke to Keith a few times, he was very good and very honest, and he's excited to get started as well. 'He was another big reason why I wanted to come and try to help the club keep moving forward.' Kelleher is one of three former Liverpool teammates at Brentford, along with Sepp van den Berg and Fabio Carvalho. The Corkman's return to training has been delayed after his season extended into June with Ireland. Henderson said: 'Caoimhín isn't in yet, but I've spoken to Sepp and Fáb a bit, along with the rest of the lads. It's nice to have a few familiar faces, for sure.
