The Visit Atlantic City Soar & Shore Festival is a full week of excitement, running from Monday, July 14 through Sunday, July 20. Marvin Vettori can't wait to hurt Brendan Allen at UFC 318: 'I don't like the guy'
UFC 318 is personal for Marvin Vettori. NEW ORLEANS – UFC 318 is not just any regular bout for Marvin Vettori. It's personal. "The Italian Dream" takes on bitter rival Brendan Allen on the preliminary card of Saturday's UFC pay-per-view event at Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Vettori (19-7-1 MMA, 9-6-1 UFC) and Allen (24-7 MMA, 12-4 UFC) have plenty of history, more infamously getting into a brawl on the casino floor of the Hard Rock Hotel in South Florida. "It is what it is. It's nothing," Vettori said at the UFC 318 media day on Wednesday, recalling his run-in with Allen. "I was kind of pissed because nothing really happened, and I haven't seen him since. He lives around there, but I don't see him. It's alright at the end of the day. It is what it is. But when you run your mouth, some people think nothing is going to happen. But if you run your mouth, you have to move differently because if I see you, it's on sight." Vettori didn't elaborate exactly elaborate on the root of their feud, but Allen claims it is because he was critical of one of his performances – comments he doesn't think warrant fighting each other outside a professional context. Yet, Vettori assures its personal between the two. "For sure, (it's personal)," Vettori said. "I definitely don't like the guy. I don't like the guy." Vettori enters UFC 318 on the back of a personal tragedy. In April, Vettori's brother passed in a house fire. Understandably so, it's not something the former UFC title challenger expects to ever get over, but he wanted to return to UFC 318 to honor his brother and be an example for others. "You're never going to get over something like that, but you have to do something purposeful and meaningful and something that gets you going in the morning, and you know, be an example of resilience for him and for everybody around me," Vettori said. "I feel like at this time, this is what I was put to do, so I'm going to keep doing for that. Physically, I'm good, and I just can't' wait to get into the cage and hurt him."

Darius Rucker unexpectedly ends Atlantic City show mid-set: ‘I've never done this before'

On Saturday, the 59-year-old country music star suddenly paused after performing a few songs at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City and told the crowd that he couldn't continue with the show. "Y'all, I can't sing anymore," the Hootie & the Blowfish frontman said in a video by a fan on Philly Burbs. DARIUS RUCKER 'DEVASTATED' BY DEATH OF LONGTIME PRODUCTION MANAGER: 'HE WAS OUR BROTHER' He continued, "I'm going to play one more song. I promise you, we are going to figure this out. You're going to get your money back." "I just can't sing. I've never done this before," Rucker added. "This never happened. I physically can't sing, and I promise you on everything that I stand for I will make this up to you." Rucker went on to play his hit 2013 "Wagon Wheel" as the crowd sang along. The musician then apologized to the audience before exiting the stage. "I promise you I will make this up to you," he said. "I promise you, we will figure this out and I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." On Sunday, Rucker shared an update in a post on his Instagram Story. The singer once again apologized for ending the concert early and informed attendees that they would receive full refunds. "Thank you so much for coming out Saturday night," Rucker wrote, per Philly Burbs. "I feel awful and I'm so sorry — I have never lost my voice in all my years of performing." "We looked at every option to reschedule, but unfortunately, it's just not possible this year, so we're issuing full refunds," the three-time Grammy Award winner added. "Thank you so much for all your kind messages wishing me well. Love y'all and see you soon!" Representatives for Rucker did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment. Last Saturday's show was the third stop on Rucker's ongoing 45-date international tour. The tour kicked off on July 10 at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, Maryland. LIKE WHAT YOU'RE READING? The tour will conclude on Dec. 13 at the Ritz-Carlton Resort in Naples, Florida. In October 2023, Rucker released his seventh solo studio album, "Carolyn's Boy." Hootie & the Blowfish's sixth studio album "Imperfect Circle" debuted in November 2019.
