Local issues discussed at Mini Mahanadus
Hundreds of leaders and cadre from the assembly constituency, mandal, to the booth level participated in these Mini Mahanadus, discussed the local issues, and assured all support to the party workers. Speaking at the Mini Mahanadu in Kondapi, along with AP Maritime Board chairman Damacharla Sathya, the social welfare minister and local MLA Dr DSBV Swamy said that workers are the TDP's strongest foundation and their sacrifices are invaluable. He announced that the government has withdrawn false cases filed against 41 TDP workers in the constituency during the previous YSRCP government. The minister criticised former Chief Minister Jagan for pushing the state into a debt trap through inefficient governance. The minister revealed that 'Annadata Sukhibhava' and 'Talliki Vandanam' schemes will be implemented in June.
The minister highlighted that development works worth over Rs 50 crore have already been completed, and proposals worth Rs 450 crore have been sent for a drinking water scheme from Ramatirtham to Kondapi constituency.
Speaking at the Mini Mahanadu in Kanigiri, along with local MLA Dr MUN Reddy, the APTDC Chairman and TDP Prakasam district president Dr Nukasani Balaji, said that the welfare of TDP workers remains the government's foremost priority. He said that the remaining two of the 'Super Six' schemes are scheduled for launch shortly.
He detailed several major development projects targeted for the Kanigiri constituency, including the IIIT campus, the Biogas Plant, and the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway line. Concluding his address on a historical note, Dr Balaji remarked that the land which witnessed the fighting spirit of Katamraju 1200 years ago was now seeing TDP victory flagsflying high.

Reaffirming the NDA government's commitment to safeguarding public interest, Andhra Pradesh Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has said there is no intention to increase power tariffs in the State. Participating in the door-to-door outreach being conducted as a part of the 'Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu' programme at Balayapalli in Kadapa district on Sunday, Mr. Ravi Kumar criticised the previous YSRCP government for severely damaging the power sector, burdening it with over ₹1.30 lakh crore debt during its five-year tenure. The Minister further said the coalition government was focused on promoting large-scale green energy projects, particularly in the Rayalaseema region, which offers immense potential. He added that the government would actively bring green energy investments to the area, leading to massive employment opportunities for the youth. He also appealed to the people to take advantage of the Central government schemes such as PM Suryagarh and PM Kusum. Later, he held a review meeting at the camp office of Badvel TDP in-charge Ritesh Reddy. He assessed the progress of Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) works in the district. Discussions were held on the construction of new substations, agricultural power connections, and distribution of transformers to farmers. Power for farmers Stressing the importance of uninterrupted quality supply, Mr. Ravi Kumar directed the officials to ensure nine-hour daytime electricity for farmers and 24-hour power for households and industries. Mr. Ravi Kumar emphasised that all manifesto promises were being fulfilled, citing examples such as the Deepam scheme, under which three gas cylinders were being given free of cost. He also announced that around ₹10,000 crore was deposited in a single day under Thalliki Vandanam scheme. He said the free bus travel scheme for women would commence from August 15. Similarly, ₹20,000 would be provided to the farmers soon under the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme.

Waste to electricity plant may come up at dump yard
Trichy: The govt has initiated preliminary work to expand waste-to-electricity plants to major cities in the state including Coimbatore, Madurai, and Trichy, said municipal administration minister K N Nehru on Sunday. In Trichy, it will be considered at Ariyamangalam dump yard. He said the govt is exploring an option to retrieve plastic waste from dump yards and utilize it in road construction. "Waste mounds in dump yards in major cities that have accumulated for over five decades are being cleared using a biomining method. The waste-to-electricity plant introduced in Chennai will be expanded to other cities as a long-term solution in another 3-4 years," Nehru told reporters on the sidelines of Oraniyil Tamil Nadu campaign held in E Pudur to add new members to DMK. He said no new infrastructure projects are viable in the 47-acre Ariyamangalam dump yard for the next 15 years except for public parks since the subsurface has accumulated plastic waste for decades. Responding to a question about his constituency, Trichy West, cornering a lion's share of new projects, Nehru said all 65 wards in the city are treated equally. On opposition leader Edappadi K Palaniswami's remarks about Rs 1,000 monthly assistance provided to women in the state, Nehru said, "We (DMK) introduced the scheme to provide financial assistance to women heads of the family. Who is he (Palaniswami) to say that people will not get the assistance? We will conduct more camps to continue and expand the coverage. "

Maharashtra govt puts one big condition on new liquor shop licences in the state
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Sunday said that the government has made a rule that no licences for liquor shops will be given without taking the legislature into confidence. Earlier in the day, NCP (SP) legislator Jitendra Awhad claimed that the BJP-led Mahayuti government was planning to issue 328 new liquor shop licences to tide over "financial distress". He said this would drive the state, which is a land of saints, into alcoholism. Talking to media persons in Pune, Pawar said rules are diligently followed in Maharashtra as far as liquor licences are concerned. Incidentally, on July 8, Ajit Pawar, who holds the finance and state excise portfolios, had informed the assembly that no new liquor licences have been granted in the state since 1972 though transfers of existing licences from one location to another are permitted following due procedure. He also told the assembly there was no legal provision under existing rules that allowed municipal corporations to pass resolutions revoking liquor licences within their jurisdiction. Pawar was responding to a calling attention notice given by Panvel BJP MLA Prashant Thakur regarding the cancellation of liquor licences in Kharghar and declaring it an alcohol-free zone.
