Pawan Kalyan Refuses To Promote His Film Hari Hara Veera Mallu

Pawan Kalyan won't promote Hari Hara Veera Mallu due to political commitments, says producer AM Rathnam. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, it releases July 2025 on Amazon Prime. Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan will reportedly not participate in the promotional campaign for his long-delayed film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, producer AM Rathnam has confirmed. The announcement comes as the period action drama, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, gears up for its theatrical release in July 2025 after multiple postponements. Pawan Kalyan, who currently serves as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is expected to remain occupied with political commitments in the coming months. During a recent press interaction, Rathnam clarified the actor's absence from the promotional events, especially those targeting pan-India audiences. 'Please watch the film to enjoy, not just to find mistakes. This film is made for the audience. Pawan Kalyan is busy with other commitments and won't promote the film in Hindi and other languages," Rathnam stated. The film, which has been in production for several years, recently cleared the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) process and was granted a UA certificate. Its final runtime stands at 2 hours and 42 minutes. No major changes or cuts have been requested by the board, signaling a smooth clearance ahead of release. Meanwhile, the film's digital rights are already locked with Amazon Prime Video. The OTT deal was signed earlier, but sources indicate that the makers faced pressure from the streaming platform to confirm a release timeline. Reportedly, Prime Video had warned of revising the terms of the agreement if the film didn't meet a firm deadline by the end of July. Any further delay, the platform hinted, could lead to a reduction in the originally agreed financial deal. Despite the setbacks, Hari Hara Veera Mallu remains one of the most anticipated Telugu releases. Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit (tagline: Battle for Dharma) is an upcoming Telugu-language period action-adventure film, set against the backdrop of the 17th-century Mughal Empire. The film is directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A.M. Jyothi Krishna, with a screenplay by Jagarlamudi and Sai Madhav Burra. The story follows the journey of the legendary outlaw Veera Mallu, played by Pawan Kalyan. The cast also includes Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, and Satyaraj in key roles. Announced in January 2020, the film began principal photography in September that year, primarily in Hyderabad. However, it faced multiple delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic and Pawan Kalyan's political responsibilities. Filming finally wrapped up in May 2025. The music has been composed by the renowned M.M. Keeravani. Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive. Abusive, defamatory, or illegal comments will be removed.
