Twist in the tale? Big predictions for India vs England at Lord's go viral
Former India wicketkeeper
Dinesh Karthik
and former England pace ace
Stuart Broad
shared contrasting views on the potential outcome of the third Test at Lord's, with all results still in play. As time ticks away, frequent interruptions—be it due to ball changes or medical concerns—have done little to aid either side.
At the end of the second session on Day 3, India trailed by 71 runs with five wickets in hand, while England continued to hunt for crucial breakthroughs.
With fewer than seven sessions remaining, Karthik doesn't believe a draw is the only likely outcome. He sees a result as very much possible, especially given England's aggressive mindset and willingness to push for a win even in tightscenarios.

"I would say it is 50/50, and I don't think a draw is an option when England play.
If there is a chance to pull off a result, England will go for it," Karthik said on Sky Sports.
Broad, however, offered a different take. Having observed the changing behaviour of the Lord's surface, the former England quick believes the pitch may not produce the kind of movement or drama needed for a decisive finish, making a draw the likeliest scenario.

"Draw is the favourite for me. For it to be a result, someone is going to have to have a five or six-wicket session or score 130 in a session, and it doesn't feel like a pitch that is going to happen on," Broad said.

"Things aren't happening too quickly on this wicket. If England leave themselves three sessions on the final day to take 10 wickets, that's not going to happen, which is why I think the draw is in the game. But, England, so they will be looking for opportunities to win it," he added.

Interestingly, the segment was WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg's last bout, as the legend hung up his boots in Atlanta, Georgia, tonight. However, fortune did not favor the veteran wrestler as he had to face a crushing defeat at the hands of his arch-rival, Gunther. Let's take a look at the highlights of the match now. Goldberg faces a crushing defeat against Gunther in his retirement bout Goldberg's retirement bout began with thunderous applause from the fans during his entry in the ring for one last time. Goldberg's chants filled the arena in Atlanta, Georgia, by his beloved fans who gathered to watch the WWE legend one last time in the ring. The match began with the WWE Hall of Famer pushing off Gunther, who tried to lock in chops. The Ring General attacked him with two thudding chest chops, but Goldberg felt nothing as he took down the Champion with a brutal clothesline. Following this, Goldberg went for a spear, but the Champion ducked tactfully, causing him to go crashing through the barricade. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Concentrated Siberian Ginseng Extract 2oz Superior Ginseng Undo Gunther next targeted Goldberg's left knee, which everyone knew as his weak point for the seasoned wrestler. Even though he faced a tough start, Goldberg managed to break free and executed a powerful back body drop, shifting the momentum in his favor. However, out of nowhere, disaster struck when Goldberg accidentally speared the referee, bringing the match to a sudden halt. Actually. Goldberg went for the spear, but Gunther managed to duck again, and this time it's referee, Charles Robinson, fell into the deadly spear. Seizing this opportunity, Gunther capitalized again, removing the knee brace and flaunting it in front of the fans. The Ring General attacked Goldberg with the brace, and he did not stop him, hurting him physically, but added a personal twist when he taunted his son, Gage, who was watching from the ringside. Gunther, showing off his brace, climbed back into the ring, but he was taken down hard by a huge spear from Goldberg, who was eyeing the finishing move with the Jack Hammer. Just then, another referee rushed into the ring as the legend went for the pin, but Gunther managed to kick out just in time. IND vs ENG, 3rd Test: Jonathan Trott accuses Shubman Gill of ‘acting,' draws parallels with Virat Kohli's theatrics
Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill Former England cricketer Jonathan Trott has slammed India captain Shubman Gill for gesticulating towards Zak Crawley and shouting an expletive in his direction in the last over of Day 3 of the Lord's Test. Opener Zak Crawley repeatedly delayed bowler Jasprit Bumrah and called for a physio after being hit on the finger, successfully ensuring that he and Ben Duckett had to face only one over before the close of play, instead of two. Crawley's time-wasting tactics infuriated Gill and his teammates. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Gill pointed his finger at Crawley and told him to 'grow some f***ing balls.' Duckett quickly intervened, positioning himself between them, but the verbal exchange continued. A ball later, Gill rushed to Crawley and held his arms up in an X. Crawley responded by waving a finger at Gill. Trott compared Gill's antics to those of former India captain Virat Kohli. 'We don't know what went on when England were fielding, whether they were dishing it out. But I don't like the acting from Shubman Gill; as a captain, you set the tone,' Trott said on JioCinema. Why Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah lost their cool in last five minutes of Day 3 vs England 'Pointing fingers and getting very confrontational — very much like a previous captain — getting in the face of the opposition. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 목주름 방치하면 '이렇게' 됩니다 뷰앤디 더 알아보기 Undo 'I'm all for being competitive and tough on the field, but sometimes you have to rise above it. It sets up nicely for tomorrow's play.' The third Test between India and England is finely balanced, with no clear favourite at this stage. KL Rahul racked up his second hundred at the iconic Lord's before India matched England's first-innings total of 387 on an attritional day, leaving the game on an even keel on a deteriorating pitch. Poll Do you think Shubman Gill's reaction towards Zak Crawley was justified? Yes, he was right to confront Crawley. No, he should have kept his cool. Besides Rahul's high-quality effort (100 off 177), Ravindra Jadeja (72 off 131) and Rishabh Pant (74 off 112) propped up India's first-innings total. It will be a challenge for India to bat last on a surface where the odd ball is taking off after pitching and is offering some turn. 'Surreal'! Iga Swiatek finally finds her footing on grass with the Wimbledon title - AND HOW!
Iga Swiatek of Poland holds the trophy to celebrate winning the women's singles final match against Amanda Anisimova of the U.S. at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London, Saturday, July 12, 2025.(AP Photo/Kirsty Wigglesworth) New Delhi: "I want to thank everybody who is making this tournament unique because there's no tournament like that. I was always anxious because of that... walking around here, on the Centre Court, it felt a huge pressure and a bit too much," said Iga Swiatek in the trophy ceremony at Wimbledon . She had just thrashed Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in less than an hour in a one-sided blitz. The Polish player had reasons to be anxious every year considering her strong record on other surfaces but grass. The 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024 French Open and 2022 US Open champion had never won the Wimbledon. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! With the hype heightened around her, she would come to SW19 and go down in dismal and disappointing fashion. It started with 81st ranked Viktorija Golubic in 2019 and continued with Ons Jabeur (24th ranked), Alize Corner (37th), Elina Svitolina (76th) and Yulia Putintseva (35th). The furthest she went, until this year, was a quarter-final. Ironically, Swiatek's high as a junior was winning Wimbledon girl's singles title in 2018. Seven years on, she lifted the trophy, much bigger in size in comparison, for the women's singles event. The win, and perhaps the manner of it, surprised even herself. "Surreal" and "unexpected" were the key words as she spoke to the media. "It's a lot, especially after a season of ups and downs and a lot of expectations from the outside which I didn't match by winning Wimbledon. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like So sánh mức trượt giá: Hợp đồng tương lai (CFD) Bitcoin vs Ethereum IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo It's something that is just surreal and tennis keeps surprising me and I keep surprising myself," she said. The ups and downs that former World No. 1 Swiatek alluded to includes a title drought going back to the 2024 French Open. She then went more than a year without reaching the final of a tournament. At the 2024 Olympics, held in Paris at the site of the Roland Garros, she lost in the semi-finals and cried for six hours. There was also a one-month doping ban in November 2024 for accidentally taking a contaminated medicine. On Saturday, she didn't step a foot wrong. As she went 6-0 in major title finals, she won 55 of 79 points; served as high as 121mph; got 78% of her first serves in and bagged 80% of points that lasted five shots or more. The 6-0, 6-0 win is only the second in Wimbledon's history - the last coming in 1911 - 114 years ago! Case of flying below the radar helped. That was induced, in part, by her poor record at Wimbledon. She wasn't the top seed. She, and the rest of the world, had lower expectations from her. 'I could really focus on getting better and developing as a player,' Swiatek said, 'rather than everybody just asking me to win, and nothing is good besides winning.' 'Honestly, I didn't even dream (of this), because for me, it was just, like, way too far, you know?' Swiatek said. There was also more time to prepare for the grass court season. Having been beaten by Aryna Sabalenka at the French Open, Swiatek hit the grass courts of Mallorca a month ago which was followed by a final run, her first on grass, at Bad Homburg in Germany. At the manicured lawns of SW19, she dropped just one set or 35 games. No woman had lifted the trophy at Wimbledon with such dominance in this century. She became the second player, after Steffi Graf, to win a women's singles major final with a double bagel. The German legend had taken 32 minutes then, Swiatek needed 57 minutes. And the list of baffling statistics goes on. "Honestly, I didn't even dream [of this] because for me it was just way too far," Swiatek stated on court just moments after securing the title. "I feel like I'm already an experienced player, after winning Slams before, but I never really expected this one." Does the Wimbledon title mean more than the French Opens and the US Open? Swiatek acknowledged that it was a tough question before going on to admit that it was "special" for what it represents. And what it does represent is a big, bold exclamation mark on her resume.
