In a major step toward decarbonization and energy independence, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has entered a strategic partnership with Ohmium International, a Bengaluru-based specialist in PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) hydrogen technology. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to co-develop integrated green hydrogen power solutions tailored for the Indian context.
The project demonstrates Toyota's growing emphasis on developing clean energy technologies and supporting India's vision of a hydrogen and carbon-free future. The MoU was also positively received by important government officials in India. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari endorsed the initiative, describing hydrogen as a clean and renewable source of energy that is viewed as fuel of the future.

It is a key to building a self-reliant and carbon-neutral India. 'I commend Toyota and Ohmium for making strong efforts with cleaner energy options through advanced hydrogen-led capabilities," he added. Shripad Yesso Naik, Minister of State, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, said, 'Strategic collaborations such as this, between Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Ohmium, have the potential to significantly accelerate the progress towards a hydrogen-powered green energy future." Toyota's expanded vision: Fuel cell technology beyond cars
Toyota, known globally for pioneering fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), is now leveraging its expertise in fuel cell modules to support India's stationary energy needs. Under the MoU, TKM will supply advanced fuel cell modules, offer system integration, and provide technical consultation.
Ohmium, a leader in PEM hydrogen electrolyzer technology, will design and evaluate the performance of hydrogen-driven microgrid prototypes suitable for real-world use. Manasi Tata, Vice Chairperson, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, stated that through this collaboration with an innovative PEM technology player like Ohmium, the company is not only advancing hydrogen applications but also reinforcing its support for the country's 'Make in India' initiative.

In 2022, TKM was introduced to the green hydrogen sector in India with the launch of the Toyota Mirai with iCAT. This was a pilot project to create public awareness and establish knowledge on hydrogen technology in the mobility sector. In 2023, TKM collaborated with Ashok Leyland to develop fuel cell modules for trial hydrogen fuel cell commercial vehicles.
This alliance is yet another development in Toyota's people developed program to aid India's decarbonisation objectives via its multi-pathway approach which favours hybrid electrification and ethanol-blend technologies. In August 2023, TKM was also able to showcase the world's first BS 6 (Stage II) Electrified Flex Fuel Vehicle concept on the Innova Hycross platform with a varied clean energy policy

India has ambitious energy targets: energy self-reliance by 2047 and net-zero by 2070. India wants to establish a strong hydrogen economy, based on domestic R&D and commercial partners, under the National Green Hydrogen Mission launched in 2023.
TKM and Ohmium's partnership clearly exemplifies this national vision. The partnership, using microgrid based solutions, is addressing the country's acute energy shortages in remote and industrial areas while avoiding fossil fuel-based energy.

E-commerce firm Meesho files confidentially for Rs 4,250 crore India IPO

E-commerce platform Meesho has confidentially filed for a Rs 4,250 crore IPO with market regulator the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), joining a wave of startups rushing to go public this year, according to people familiar with the matter. The Bengaluru-based company is targeting a market debut in September or October. The move comes as Meesho has emerged as India's third-largest e-commerce platform, reaching a gross merchandise value run rate of $6.2 billion for FY 2025. The company reported a 33 per cent increase in revenue to Rs 7,615 crore for fiscal 2024, while narrowing its net loss to Rs 53 crore from Rs 1,569 crore the previous year. Meesho's rapid ascent has disrupted the established duopoly of Flipkart and Amazon. Over the past four years, the company has increased its market share from low single digits to 8.9 per cent as of 2024. In contrast, Flipkart's share slipped from 33.7 per cent in 2020 to 32.1 per cent, while Amazon declined from 30.5 per cent to 28.3 per cent over the same period, according to a CLSA report. The IPO filing positions Meesho ahead of many other startups in India's public market rush. Fintech firm Pine Labs filed its draft prospectus with the market regulator last week, while furniture retailer Wakefit and cloud kitchen operator Curefoods submitted pre-IPO documents recently, signalling renewed momentum among consumer-facing startups. The company received shareholder approval last week to proceed with its initial public offering and to designate co-founder and chief executive Vidit Aatrey as chairman and managing director, according to sources. Till March 2024, Meesho was valued at about $3.9 billion, according to data platform Tracxn. A recent CLSA report projects the company will grow at a 26 per cent compound annual growth rate through FY 2031, as Meesho's gains come at the expense of incumbent players. Meesho did not respond to requests for comment on the company's IPO plans. The company, which counts Fidelity Investments, SoftBank Group, Prosus, and Peak XV Partners among its backers, joins other startups using the confidential filing route. A confidential pre-IPO filing allows companies to submit offering documents without immediate public disclosure, giving them time to address regulatory feedback while keeping financial details shielded from competitors. Online brokerage Groww, education platform PhysicsWallah, logistics firm Shadowfax Technologies, and industrial steam solutions provider Steamhouse India have recently filed for IPOs through the confidential route. Shadowfax Technologies, backed by Flipkart, is expected to raise between Rs 2,000 crore and Rs 2,500 crore, potentially valuing the company at around Rs 8,500 crore. Surat-based Steamhouse India is estimated to seek between Rs 500 crore and Rs 700 crore. The IPO filing follows Meesho's completion of a crucial corporate restructuring. In June, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved Meesho's plan to relocate its headquarters from Delaware to India. The company is reportedly expected to pay approximately $288 million in taxes related to the so-called reverse flip. "This filing is part of our ongoing transition to re-domicile in India. With the majority of our operations, including customers, sellers, creators and Valmo partners already based here, this step aligns our corporate structure with our day-to-day business footprint," a Meesho spokesperson had said at the time. India's e-commerce market is currently dominated by four players: Flipkart, Amazon, Meesho, and Myntra, with Meesho's rapid market share gains positioning it as a formidable challenger to the established leaders.

Full CV of Soham Parekh, Indian techie accused of working at multiple US startups simultaneously

Jul 03, 2025 07:20 PM IST Soham Parekh, an Indian tech professional, is at the centre of a storm in Silicon Valley after being accused of moonlighting or quietly working for multiple startups at once — all without telling the companies involved. Soham Parekh was accused by Suhail Doshi, co‑founder of Mixpanel and Playground AI, of working for multiple startups at the same time.(X/@mhadifilms) The controversy erupted after Suhail Doshi, co-founder and former CEO of analytics platform Mixpanel, took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out Soham Parekh's alleged actions. Suhail Doshi claimed that Soham Parekh had been simultaneously involved with three to four early-stage startups, misleading founders and teams who had no idea he was dividing his time — and loyalty — elsewhere. Doshi said 90% of his resume seems fake, and most links are gone. "I want to also say that I tried to talk sense into this guy, explain the impact, and give him a chance to turn a new leaf because sometimes that's what a person needs. But it clearly didn't work," the entrepreneur added. Here is full CV of Soham Parekh as shared by Suhail Doshi: SOHAM P. EDUCATION Georgia Institute of Technology Sept 2020 - May 2022 M.S.
