Lennon Miller to Bologna transfer domino that has yet to fall as Celtic told 'truth' about hijack attempt
Bologna are reportedly holding off on a formal bid for Motherwell prospect Lennon Miller as they look to sell on their key stars.
The Serie A side and their rivals Udinese are both keen on the £5million-rated teenager - who did not feature in any of the Steelmen's Premier Sports Cup group stage games.
Fir Park boss Jens Berthel Askou has admitted he could hand the 18-year-old a first appearance of the season in the Premiership opener against Rangers next Saturday if he remains at the club.
And that looks increasingly likely with Gazzetta dello Sport report that Bologna want to offload Dan Ndoye before splurging more cash in the summer market.
Napoli and Nottingham Forest are reportedly battling it out for a £43million deal - with the Italian side now pressing pause on an incoming stars as they await a cash injection.
That leaves the door open other clubs to snap up the Scotland internatioanal with Udinese and Como among the interested parties - while Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is understood to be a fan of Miller.
And despite his dad Lee stating that Miller Jr is keen on a move away from the Scottish Premiership, the Hoops have been urged to push for a deal before it's too late.
Former Parkhead defender Charlie Mulgrew reckons the Scottish champions could land the wonderkid for a low fee, telling Go Radio: "I'd love to see Celtic sign Lennon Miller.
"I think that'd be a brilliant bit of business. Play him in one of those number eight roles, ease him into the season, and there's no doubt, he'd be one of Celtic's top performers this year if they get him in.
'Imagine him in that position, getting loads of the ball, using that wand of a right foot to dictate games. It'd be class to watch.
'And truth be told, it wouldn't even be that expensive to get him out of Motherwell, especially with them needing to sell.'

Propper has no regrets despite swift Twente return
Robin Propper says "I haven't regretted" joining Rangers despite the Dutch centre-half returning to Twente for an undisclosed fee after only a season with the Scottish Premiership 31-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Eredivisie club after being told he was not in new Rangers head coach Russell Martin's plans."Last season, I had the opportunity to play for a major international team," he told Twente's website."I couldn't pass up the opportunity, even though the decision wasn't easy, especially since we were close to the start of the new season with Twente. Nevertheless, I decided to make that choice. I haven't regretted it."It was a great year, both personally and in terms of sport, with all sorts of new experiences."However, Propper said "the choice isn't difficult" to return to the club where he was captain and where the team spirit "is so strong".Of his time in Glasgow, he added: "It was an eye-opener for me. Shin Yamada tells Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers exactly why he can succeed Kyogo
The striker netted his first goal for the Hoops' in the Como Cup clash with Al Ahli Shin Yamada has told Brendan Rodgers can be just as deadly as Kyogo at Celtic. The Hoops boss is desperate to add more firepower after Nicholas Kuhn 's exit and Jota's long-term injury. Celts also failed to land a replacement for Kyogo when the frontman departed in January. Yamada landed on a £1.5m deal from Kawasaki Frontale but Rodgers admitted the frontman could be one for the future. 'As players, I would say some parts of our game is similar. In front of goal, especially. 'However, I have something different which is speed and power. With that, I hope to perform as well as him and contribute to Celtic. 'I have speed at one-v-ones. I like to run behind the defenders. That is one of my strengths.' Yamada was denied a debut against Ajax in Italy last week due to red tape but got his first taste against the Saudi Arabian big guns. The 25-year-old had a goal disallowed for a narrow offside call but showed bottle to step up and convert the winning penalty in the third-place play-off. The Japan squad man caught the eye in his second half showing but he insisted there is still much more to come. He said: 'I am happy I took part in the game. And, of course, I am happy to have scored the winning penalty. 'I thought I had scored in the second-half but was off-side. I wish I had the pass earlier. 'But I have only come to the club for a week so we need to understand each other's strengths better and have better connections. 'I think that part will come soon. I am obviously a striker so personally my job is to score a lot of goals and I think that's what I'm being asked to do at this club. 'I need to demand from my team-mates that they give me a pass in certain moments. 'That is a part of my game I need to improve with my team-mates.'
