According to Mumbai Police, her autopsy was conducted and the opinion about her cause of death has been 'reserved". The body was sent to the civic-run Cooper hospital for post-mortem. It is also claimed that she had been fasting the entire day due to a puja at her home, and that consuming pills on an empty stomach may have worsened her condition. The timeline of events suggests that Shefali's health deteriorated between 10 and 11 PM on June 27. The forensic team has collected various items from the residence as part of the probe. As part of the ongoing investigation, statements from multiple people have been recorded.
