Air India Delhi-Kolkata flight rescheduled after technical snag
An Air India flight from Delhi bound for Kolkata on Monday evening was rescheduled due to a technical issue detected by the cockpit crew, the airline said. The Airbus, A321neo, was originally scheduled for take off at 5.30 pm, according to live flight tracking website Flightradar24. It was rescheduled to depart at 9.30 pm. 'Flight AI2403 operating from Delhi to Kolkata on 21 July, 2025, has been rescheduled to depart later this evening. The rescheduling was necessitated by a technical issue detected during the take-off roll,' an Air India spokesperson said. 'The cockpit crew decided to discontinue the take-off, following Standard Operating Procedures,' the spokesperson said. 'All passengers have disembarked, and our ground colleagues in Delhi are extending support to them. Inconvenience caused to the passengers due to this unforeseen disruption is sincerely regretted…,' the spokesperson added. This development comes a few hours after an Air India aircraft operating a Kochi-Mumbai flight veered off the runway after touchdown at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) amid heavy rain. There has been a slew of disruptions to flight operations in the aftermath of the Air India crash in Ahmedabad in June — which killed 260 people, including 241 of the 242 on board — with airlines cancelling, rescheduling, and diverting flights with more frequency. Last month, an Air India flight headed to Delhi had to return to Hong Kong owing to a technical issue. The flight, AI315, was a Boeing 788. On the same day, an Air India Express flight bound for Ranchi returned to Delhi airport due to a suspected technical snag. On June 13, an Air India flight heading to New Delhi from Phuket received a bomb threat and made a precautionary landing back at Phuket.

Air India pilot aborts flight just before take-off from Delhi to Kolkata due to technical snag
NEW DELHI: An Air India flight carrying 160-plus passengers from Delhi to Kolkata was steered back to its starting point by the pilots just before take-off on Monday evening due to a techical glitch. The passengers were deplaned and the flight is expected to take-off by late night. Flight No AI 2403 was taxiing for take-off from Terminal 3's runway at 5.51 pm when the incident happened. The flight, an Airbus 321 Neo model was running 20 minutes behind its scheduled time. According to an airport source, 'The flight rejected take-off -- which means the pilot decided to vacate the runway after the pushback – due to some technical issue. Confirming the incident, Air India in a statement said, 'Flight AI2403 operating from Delhi to Kolkata on 21 July has been rescheduled to depart later this evening, necessitated by a technical issue detected during the take-off roll. The cockpit crew decided to discontinue the take-off, following Standard Operating Procedures. All passengers have disembarked and our ground colleagues in Delhi are extending support to them.' AI 2403 returned along its runway path and then headed to the taxiway and returned to the parking bay. The flight is expected to take-off around 9.30 pm on Monday, four hours behind its scheduled start time. This marks a series of flights of Air India suffering technical problems before or after take-off within the last seven weeks. I don't know how fast they were going, but they were a lot faster than us, I felt it was the safest thing to do to turn behind it," the pilot reportedly added, as the discussion was recorded. The pilot coolly measured the situation by saying, I apologise for such an event and that he was surprised the Air Force base radar missed it, when it should have always been functional. He thanked the crew for being so understanding and said,'It was not a pleasant day at work.' Live Events It remains unclear if the cockpit alarm was triggered as general response for possible collisions to the pilots, and if not, could be looked at as a surprising miss as an Air Force base with B-52 bombers is located near Minot, expectedly heightening security from Air Force or Air Traffic Controllers. "Recent reports of Air Force and commercial aircraft operating in the vicinity of Minot International Airport are something we are aware of. We're investigating the situation right now,' stated an Air Force spokeswoman to ABC News on Sunday night, July 20. "We can confirm that a B-52 aircraft assigned to Minot AFB conducted a flypast of the North Dakota State Fair Friday evening." According to SkyWest, the event is being looked into.
