
Police investigate suspicious death in Abbeydale

Approximately 1:20 a.m., the Calgary Police Service responded to reports of someone along the 300 block of Abergale Drive N.E. for reports of someone in medical distress.

The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation, with more information to be shared upon the completion of his autopsy, which was expected later on Friday.

A neighbour in the area, Rusul Alsamawi, said she is shocked that an incident like this took place in her generally quiet community.

'It was like road rage, something like that, speeding, and we did hear some gunshots too, but it was very late (at) around 2 a.m.,' Alsamawi said.

Although they did not think much of the situation of the time, some blood that was found in the area prompted someone to call the police.

'The police came to us asking if we had any cameras, but we couldn't help them,' she said.

1 person dead, 1 arrested after downtown London stabbing
Social Sharing London police have arrested one man following a fatal stabbing near the city's downtown core Sunday afternoon. Just after 1 p.m., crews arrived at the intersection of Colborne Street and Princess Avenue where they found an adult man with stab wounds, police said. The man was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, where he later died, police said. Police learned the suspect fled the area by foot, but he was found a short distance away, and arrested. The suspect remains in custody. Police say there is no threat to public safety. OPP believe dog found dead south of Ottawa was intentionally killed
Stella the dog went missing from her North Grenville, Ont. home on Aug. 1, 2025. She was found dead the next day. OPP believe her death was caused intentionally. (OPP/X) Ontario Provincial Police are asking for the public's help after a dog was found dead in the North Grenville area, south of Ottawa, on Saturday. Stella went missing from her home in the Tompkins Road area on Aug. 1. She was found dead the next morning, police said. 'Her death is believed to have been caused intentionally sometime Friday night,' the OPP said in a post on social media. 'Grenville OPP wants to hear from any witnesses.
