Brad Pitt Says His ‘Ford v Ferrari' Movie With Tom Cruise Got Axed After Cruise Found Out He ‘Would Not Be Driving Much in the Movie'
'I would want to drive again, selfishly speaking,' Pitt told The National about a sequel. 'F1 is still the focus. It needs to be on Joshua Pierce – Damson Idris's character – and the rest of the team fighting for a championship. Where does Sonny fit in? I'm not sure. Sonny's probably out on the Bonneville Salt Flats, setting speed records or something like that. So I'm not sure beyond that, just yet.'

'Right now, I'm just pleased as punch that something like this can bring people together. That's the power of this kind of cinema,' Pitt added.
'F1' director Joseph Kosinski has already floated the idea of making a sequel that would reunite Pitt with his 'Interview With a Vampire' co-star Tom Cruise, who showed up to support his friend on the 'F1' carpet in London before the film's opening. The filmmaker went as far to say an 'F1' sequel could be a crossover with Cruise's NASCAR hit 'Days of Thunder.'
'Well, right now, it'd be Cole Trickle, who was [Cruise's] 'Days of Thunder' character, we find out that he and [Brad Pitt's] Sonny Hayes have a past,' Kosinski told GQ Magazine UK about his dream pitch. 'They were rivals at some point, maybe crossed paths. … I heard about this epic go-kart battle on 'Interview With a Vampire' that Brad and Tom had, and who wouldn't pay to see those two go head-to-head on the track?'
Kosinski originally planned to bring Pitt and Cruise together on the big screen in his own version of 'Ford v Ferrari.' The actors were going to do all of their own racing in the movie, but the studio would not approve Kosinski's desired budget. James Mangold ended up directing 'Ford v Ferrari' with Christian Bale and Matt Damon instead. Pitt told The National there was another reason their 'Ford v Ferrari' never took.
'Tom and I, for a while there, were on 'Ford v Ferrari' with Joe [to direct]. This was about 10 years before the guys who actually made it – and made it a great movie,' Pitt said. 'What it came down to is that we both wanted to drive, and [Tom] wanted to play Shelby, and I wanted to play Ken Miles. And when Tom realized that Carroll Shelby would not be driving much in the movie, it didn't come through. So I'm not sure how that's going to work [in a potential 'F1' sequel], but we'll give it a go. I'd love to.'
For now, Pitt is just enjoying the success of 'F1,' saying: 'We were all a bit white-knuckled to see if it was going to come through. We are delightfully surprised that everything that we had aimed for, and then some, came to fruition.'
'F1' is now playing in theaters nationwide from Apple and Warner Bros.

Keanu Reeves To Star In Cadillac F1 Docuseries Ahead Of 2026 Debut
Keanu Reeves is back in the fast lane. The Hollywood legend and quietly obsessive motorsport fan is set to narrate and executive produce a brand-new documentary series charting the rise of Cadillac's all-new Formula 1 team - a project that might just be the biggest shake-up to hit F1's paddock since Drive to Survive made Netflix shareholders very alongside Brawn collaborators Neil Duncanson and Simon Hammerson, the yet-unnamed docuseries will follow Cadillac and Andretti Global's rollercoaster bid to enter Formula 1, from their original 2022 application (rejected), to finally securing a grid slot for 2026 (approved, just barely). It will be filmed under Reeves' KR+SH production company and North One Television."I'm very honored and excited to be a part of telling the remarkable Cadillac Formula 1 Team story," Reeves said. "Our goal is to bring audiences into the heart of this journey and showcase what it takes to participate in one of the most exclusive sports arenas in the world." From Silverstone To Indy - The Team Behind The Team Unlike most F1 newcomers, Cadillac's team is being built entirely from scratch. No buyouts, no rebranding, no leased chassis. It's a clean-sheet operation with big ambitions, split between Andretti's U.S. base in Fishers, Indiana, and a UK outfit operating out of Silverstone - right in the heart of motorsport the two, they're hiring 600 people before lights out in Melbourne, with around 400 already on board. Engineers, logistics leads, aerodynamicists - the lot. And since GM won't have its Cadillac power unit ready until 2028 or 2029, the team will enter F1 in 2026 with Ferrari-supplied Cadillac insists it'll be an American effort with international scope. A moonshot project, in every sense - which is exactly why it should make for compelling television. Star Power Meets Serious Stakes The documentary is being positioned as more than just another Drive to Survive spinoff. Where Brawn focused on a miraculous underdog season, this project will showcase the blood, sweat, spreadsheets, and budget caps behind building an F1 team from nothing - with cameras embedded in both U.S. and UK also perfectly timed. Formula 1 has exploded in the U.S. in recent years, and a homegrown team led by a heritage luxury brand like Cadillac could be the final marketing domino Liberty Media's been waiting for. Add Keanu Reeves - already proven in motorsport storytelling - and you've got a headline act with genuine fan series is expected to land before the team's 2026 debut, with speculation it could stream on Disney+, Netflix, or Amazon Prime, depending on distribution deals. Still A Team Without A Face As of July 2025, no livery or drivers have been revealed. Cadillac has confirmed key hires are in place, and driver talks are ongoing. Rumours swirl around the usual suspects - Colton Herta, Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Pérez - but nothing has been documentary may well break that news itself, with producers hinting at exclusive behind-the-scenes access. Expect at least one reveal episode before testing begins in early 2026. Why It Matters In a landscape where new F1 teams are rare, and even rarer when they're American, Cadillac's entry is both bold and politically fraught. The docuseries won't just show a brand entering a sport - it'll show how difficult it is to be allowed to enter at all, especially when existing teams are reluctant to split the prize the drama Liberty Media loves. It's the spectacle fans crave. And with Keanu narrating it all in that serene, slightly whispery cadence? You might just believe the impossible is possible. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. ABC Cancels Series After Only One Season
ABC has made another tough decision regarding one of their newest television shows. Unfortunately, for fans of one particular series, it's been confirmed that ABC has canceled the title after releasing one sole season on their network. It took quite some time for the scripted series to receive some kind of update regarding whether or not it would be renewed or canceled entirely. Now, however, we know that ABC decided on the latter. It's unfortunate that the series had to be canceled, and even more so that crew members are alleging that there was inappropriate behavior while working on the series. What began as a promising addition to the network's lineup has now ended not only in cancellation, but under the cloud of behind-the-scenes concerns that have started to come to light in recent weeks. '' Doctor Odyssey ' has been canceled after one season on ABC.' Variety notes that 'the cast's contracts expire on Monday with no move from ABC to put the series back on its schedule for the upcoming year.' With that said, the outlet does suggest one possible reason for the show's cancellation. The news was released just 'after three of the show's former crew members filed a lawsuit against Disney and 20th Television on May 30, alleging that the studio enabled an 'unchecked campaign of sexual harassment for months'' and the crew members also accused 'assistant prop master Tyler Patton of making 'sexual jokes, innuendos, comments, sexual gestures and images' in addition to 'unwanted touching' including 'openly grabbing a visiting female employee's buttocks.' The medical drama series, created by Ryan Murphy, starred Joshua Jackson as Max Bankman. His character is a doctor on a luxury cruise line called the Odyssey. The story revolves around Bankman as he assists with medical emergencies while overseas. The series Doctor Odyssey was produced by 20th Television in association with Ryan Murphy Television. Stay tuned to ScreenGeek for any additional updates regarding the latest titles to be renewed or canceled by ABC and other such television networks and platforms as we have them.

iPhone users can take great July 4 fireworks photos — by following this one simple rule
Blurry, boring photos of fireworks — that were plenty exhilarating in person — have become staples of modern July 4 celebrations. For the most part, taking photos with an iPhone is as simple as it gets — point, then click. When it comes to dark settings and dynamic light sources, however — ranging from sparklers in your driveway to jaw-dropping public spectaculars — amateur photography becomes little more difficult. According to the experts at Apple, however, there's a really easy way to make your photos go from subdued to stunning. Of course, it goes without saying that the first thing you need to do is make sure the flash is turned off. But here's the really important rule to follow — toggle your camera settings to Live Photo, which will allow your device to capture tonight's fast-moving fun. 3 Reducing the brightness of your photos in edit mode afterwards can also help bring fireworks to life. Apple The Live Photos feature allows users to replay a second and a half before and after their finger hits the button — and after reviewing each frame, you can select the sharpest still from the whole range, pressing the 'Make Key Photo' bubble to lock that into place. It's as simple as that, the pros promise. Looking to up your game? A popular application called Slow Shutter Cam will allow you to lengthen the exposure, resulting in photos that capture the trails of light that things like fireworks and sparklers leave behind, Apple said. 3 Horizontal shots are generally recommended for capturing scenes like fireworks. Soloviova Liudmyla – 3 Serious shutterbugs can also opt for a tripod, experts say. Tom Wang – The tech titan recommends setting the capture mode in the app to Low Light, and following it up with Noise Reduction at medium, and Shutter Speed at four seconds, but once you snap a few shots, playing around with the app's settings can yield some more experimental photos that you'll barely believe were shot on an iPhone. Going even further, iPhone photography experts say that if you're serious about getting a good shot of the seasonal fireworks, a tripod isn't a bad investment — especially if you tend to have shaky hands. Even the smallest tremor, like the one that comes from clicking the capture button, can result in blurry beams of light exuding from the fireworks. The time lapse and panorama functions on iPhones can also prove for some cool shots, depending on where you're holding your impromptu photoshoot. New York City is home to one of the country's most impressive displays, and this year, the Macy's July 4 fireworks show is back on the East River, and literally bigger than ever. 80,000 shells are expected to be set off from the Brooklyn Bridge, compared to last year's 60,000. The show is also expected to boast over 30 colors to spot, and 11 new effects to keep an eye out for. The show is slated to start at 8 p.m, but it's likely the fireworks portion won't begin until well after the sun sets, at around 9:45 p.m. Lower Manhattan and areas near Brooklyn Bridge Park are prime viewing spots to be sure, but don't rule out non-traditional spots and decks elsewhere in the city.
