New information by the prolific Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station claims that the Vivo X300 may have a triple camera setup with the following specs:The important details are that the main camera might utilize a 1/1.4' type sensor, while the image sensor on the telephoto might be the Sony IMX882.In another leak, Digital Chat Station says that the Vivo X300 Pro might also have a triple camera on the back. The specs would be the following:The periscope telephoto camera might use the same 1/1.4' type sensor rumored to be on the base model's main camera. That camera might also feature a new coating technology that might reduce lens flares. However, the main camera is the most interesting part of that leak as it might feature the Lytia LYT-828 1/1.3' type image sensor by Sony. That is Sony's latest image sensor for mobile devices, which was introduced in June. The sensor features a technology called Hybrid Frame HDR. Sony claims that it greatly improves the dynamic range, leading to much better photos in difficult conditions.Outside the camera specs, the Vivo X300 Pro is rumored to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. The rumors about the Vivo X300 are a bit confusing, as there are claims it might have a 6.31-inch display, which is the same size as the Vivo X200 Pro mini. That could be a mix-up or a sign of a change of strategy for Vivo.More details about the Vivo X300 series should become available in the coming weeks. Last year, the Vivo X200 Pro launched in October, and there's no obvious reason for its successor to be announced later than October this year.Unfortunately, Vivo doesn't operate on the US market, and it will probably continue to be limited to China and some other global markets. Despite that, I think Vivo has the potential to become an even more serious challenger to Xiaomi and Samsung. If the rumored hardware is paired with excellent software capabilities, there's no reason to expect outstanding photos from those devices.

Xiaomi is ready with HyperOS 2 and it's shifting its focus on HyperOS 3, ends support for 9 phones
A user on Xiaomi's Feedback app received interesting information regarding Xiaomi's plans regarding HyperOS. Turns out, the company has officially ended the development of HyperOS 2 and is redirecting all of its resources to HyperOS 3. It looks like Xiaomi is done with HyperOS 2 as all phones entitled to the OS update received it, so it's time to focus solely on bringing HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, on time. Additionally, a member from the developer team clarified that users should not expect any more HyperOS 2 improvement updates. Instead, the company will focus on addressing all known issues with HyperOS 3. Key improvements include enhanced animation smoothness and visual effects, improved system responsiveness, a refined UI, and an optimized user experience. To be fair, some of those sound vague. Notably, Xiaomi may name its upcoming OS HyperOS 26, in line with the release year. Unfortunately, Xiaomi hasn't announced a release timeline, so we don't know which phones will get the update first. On a semi-related note, nine Xiaomi devices are receiving their last updates this year. It's the end of the road for the Redmi A1, A1+, Poco C50, Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro, Mi 11 Lite 5G NE, Mi 11 LE, Poco M5, and Redmi 11 Prime 4G. All these devices will get their last security patch this September. Via 1 | Via 2

This is why Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 units aren't unfolding fully
A few days ago, a concerning bit of news reached our ears: Fold 7 units weren't unfolding properly when customers went to look at them in stores. This occurrence now has a semi-official explanation, and the bottom line is that you shouldn't worry about this if you're considering buying Samsung's best insider with close ties to the supply chain has revealed ( translated source ) that there is nothing inherently wrong with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. They say it's an 'official explanation' but, in Chinese tech circles, that usually means that someone on the inside has relayed this information. Basically, the Fold 7 has an adhesive that coats its main display. When these phones remain folded for a very long time, and are then unfolded, the adhesive can take a while to fully recover and adapt to its changing form. After some general use, the screen should begin to properly unfold. You can also apply slight pressure to unfold it completely, though I'd rather let the adhesive take its time. The gist is that the Fold 7 demo units that consumers encountered this problem with probably remained untouched for quite a while before. Galaxy Z Fold 7 greatly improved the crease visibility. | Image credit — PhoneArena You may even encounter this problem on a Fold 7 that you've ordered, but now you know that it doesn't mean that you've received a defective unit. And, if this isn't your first foldable, you might have already encountered this phenomenon before, and were confused about people making it a big deal. Most Fold 7 units seem to unfold properly without any problems right out of the box. What's interesting to me is whether next year's foldable iPhone will also have this problem. Reports are claiming that Apple's foldable has the most advanced display and hinge technology in the entire industry. This is because the company has been trying its hardest to produce a foldable phone that has a completely invisible crease. Much like the problem with the Fold 7 , however, an invisible crease isn't seeming too likely with current technology. Aside from this minor pet peeve, the only real downsides to the Fold 7 are the 4,400 mAh battery, and the lack of S Pen support. Other than that, it's one of the most advanced phones that Samsung has ever made.
