Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine claims he shared jail cell with Diddy: 'We sleeping right next to each other'
During a candid Twitch livestream with DJ Akademiks on April 6, the controversial artist, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, claimed that he and Diddy were briefly cellmates at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
'We like, we literally like… we sleeping right next to each other, nah for real. I sleep right here, he [Diddy] slept right there,' said 6ix9ine, recalling their time in custody in late 2024.
The rapper didn't stop there. He said he encouraged Diddy to take control of the narrative surrounding his legal troubles. 'I told him like, yo bro, like speak… you see how media is crucify Diddy, the media is crucify him, because they know they got the narrative, they got the upper hand,' 6ix9ine explained.
According to 6ix9ine, he repeatedly urged the music mogul to be more vocal about his side of the story. 'I talked to Diddy — I mean, I know about your situation… but you gotta give a narrative or they will crucify you,' he added.
Diddy was arrested in September 2024 on serious charges including sex trafficking and intimidation tied to so-called 'freak-off' parties. While he has remained in custody since, 6ix9ine was released in December 2024 after serving a 45-day sentence for violating probation. His infractions included missing court-ordered drug rehab, taking unprescribed Adderall, and traveling without permission.
When asked for confirmation about the rapper's claims, 6ix9ine's attorney Lance Lazzaro told TMZ last year that his client had, in fact, been placed in the same unit as Combs but did not elaborate further. 'He was transferred to that same unit that P. Diddy is in. How they're getting along, I have no information as to that,' Lazzaro said at the time.
As Diddy awaits trial — set to begin on May 5, 2025 — the hip-hop community is watching closely. Whether or not these two music figures shared more than just a holding cell remains to be seen, but 6ix9ine's story has certainly reignited public curiosity about the high-profile case.

Sydney Sweeney heckled over ‘racist' American Eagle ad at film premiere
Actress Sydney Sweeney faced public protest at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film Americana, as controversy surrounding her recent American Eagle ad campaign continues to generate backlash. The incident occurred on Sunday night at Desert 5 Spot in Hollywood. Sweeney, best known for her role in Euphoria, arrived on the red carpet wearing a pale yellow gown. As she exited her SUV and was escorted toward the venue, a protester off-camera shouted, 'Stop the ad, that is being racist!' The heckling was captured on video and widely circulated online shortly after the event. TMZ shares video of Sydney Sweeney being 'heckled' over the American Eagle genes/jeans ad at the premiere for her film 'Americana.' — Pop Crave (@PopCrave) August 4, 2025 The protest references Sweeney's American Eagle campaign, which has been criticized by some social media users — particularly on TikTok — for allegedly promoting racially insensitive messaging. The ad featured the tagline 'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,' which critics claimed was a thinly veiled play on 'genes,' sparking concerns about implied genetic superiority. Neither Sweeney nor her team has publicly addressed the accusation, and she did not acknowledge the heckler at the premiere. American Eagle, however, released a statement defending the campaign, stating it was about denim and Sweeney's personal story, and rejected the claims as false and defamatory. Despite the outburst, Sweeney continued posing with co-stars Simon Rex and Halsey on the red carpet. The rest of the premiere proceeded without incident. The episode highlights the growing tension between celebrity endorsements and public scrutiny, particularly around sensitive cultural issues.

Judge denies Diddy's bail request ahead of October sentencing in prostitution case
Sean 'Diddy' Combs will remain behind bars as he awaits sentencing in his high-profile prostitution case. On Monday, Judge Arun Subramanian denied Diddy's bail request, stating the artist failed to prove eligibility for release under federal guidelines. 'Combs fails to satisfy his burden to demonstrate an entitlement to release,' Subramanian wrote. The decision follows a 62-page motion from Diddy's legal team advocating for his release before his October 3, 2025 sentencing date. Diddy was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering on July 2, but was convicted of two lesser counts under the Mann Act for transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. Prosecutors are seeking a 4–5 year prison sentence, including nearly 11 months already served. Defense lawyers argued the Mann Act was misapplied, claiming Combs was involved in consensual adult activities. They described his behavior as hiring male escorts for 'amateur porn,' not prostitution. However, Judge Subramanian pointed to documented evidence of violence, coercion, and threats involving multiple women, including ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Footage shown during trial included a violent encounter in which Combs was seen dragging Ventura across a hotel lobby. Prosecutors linked this and other incidents to an organized pattern of abuse disguised as 'freak-offs' — drug-fueled parties involving paid sex. The judge concluded that Combs posed both a flight risk and a danger to others. 'This case… contains evidence of violence, coercion, or subjugation,' Subramanian wrote, rejecting comparisons to lesser Mann Act convictions. Combs will remain jailed until sentencing.
